Bodybuilders who drop smaller amounts of fat like 10-20lbs use low intensity. It is a proven system for fat loss. Higher intensity is great but you should know your goals. This lady knows what she is talking about.
I would like to hear advice from slim lady. low intensity cardio is not about hormones, it is about calory reduction, lifting metabolism and afterburning effect..
so for a guy who needs to lose 20 pounds , i can do low intensity cardio? because i dont want to burn any of my muscles , im also doing weight lifting
No you are utilizing Type 1 muscle fibers which are highly oxidative, meaning they prefer fat for fuel. 30-45 mins. is adequate, or 20 mins post weight training for muscle recovery and blood flow. Thanks for comment!
@MsHorseshoer This is terrific advice. Apart from the science, I can definitely say anecdotally that low intensity cardio works particularly well for men who are looking to burn fat while building or maintaining muscle.
Correct, low intensity burns only fat, high intensity will burn both fat and muscle. If you want to bulk up and do bodybuilding you should only do low intensity because muscle is so hard to build but really easy to mess up. I do a 3 day split workout and after every work out I go for a 15min walk. That's all low intensity is, now I'm not talking slow easy walk, try to break a sweat but that's it.
