  • hi i am thinking about getting a bataleon board but im having some problems. i was thinking about getting the Fun.kink but i need a wide board so that wont do. i know there is wide for airobic and evil twin so are those 2 boards Durable ( wont break on hard landing), and are they fun. i am a freestyle rider ( both rails and jumps) and i also like to just ride.

  • @rapinghippo We make solid boards in austria and we deliver a 2 year warrantee. TBT makes snowboarding more fun but don't believe us. If rails and jumps are what you like than one of our twins like airobic and ET are a good choice. Airobic is softer than ET so if you like that go for that. These boards will still handle pow and slopes just fine. TBT makes our snowboards more versatile than flat shaped based boards. But again don't believe us! :-)

  • @bataleonsnowboard

Looking at the specs of teh Lobster Parkbaord, it looks like a disaster. The flex pattern and the core.

I love really soft buttery boards. I really want a super soft snowboard to play around with on the show with enough pop on flatland to get me over "slow down" signs. Thats why I am thinking of dumping my Horrorscope and getting a Battaleon/Lobster

  • This 'microsoft sam' computer voice ruins this video. It is almost unwatchable. You couldn't find some soft male british voice actor? Or a soothing flat female voice? For god sake ANYBODY is better than this computer voice...

    /migrane

  • 2:57 - the best shape of all

  • @bataleonsnowboard I was wondering if the disaster is almost the same as the airobic bit just a lil bit stiffer? and is the disaster like the lobster parkbaord since they both have tbt and are really soft? Thanks

  • @DubStepSantaFTW - the Disaster has a different core with a super soft flex (which is great for jibbing, pressing and small jumps), the Airobic has a poplar core which has great pop, and a little stiffer (great for jumping, jibbing and more general park riding). Also the Disaster has a slightly wider centre base and a slightly blunter nose (so a longer effective edge for the length so you can ride shorter). The Airobic is a wee bit more all-round than the disaster, but still very park oriented

  • @bataleonsnowboard by samll jumps, what size do you mean? cuz I ride in ohio and the biggest jumps we have are like 45'. and do they work well in deep pow? Im planning a vacation to utah and when I was there last time, they got 3 feet in a day!

  • how big can you go on a jump on an Airobic while still remaining stable? like what size jump?

  • @YourMomIsATurtle (love that username!) - the Airobic is pretty soft, but a lot of our team guys still use it for decent sized jumps (like 20m+, or about 65ft+). If you are a heavy guy and the jumps are big then you might prefer the Evil Twin or Riot, but for most the Airobic will handle jumps just fine...

  • @bataleonsnowboard Thanks! and one more question... is the jibboard at lobster snowboards the same thing as the airobic just with different graphics? and is the parkboard the same as the evil twin?

  • @YourMomIsATurtle - The Lobster Jibbaord is a bit softer than the Airobic. The Lobster Parkbaord is pretty close to the Evil Twin but Halldor liked it a little bit stiffer (to land those Lobster Flips I guess!)...

  • Im enjoying seeing all the other companies out there struggling with ridiculous rocker shapes just because they never invested into any research and didnt figure out TBT first. Check my Snowboard edit to see the Evil Twin in action on rails and boxes.

  • @FORWARDLEANDOTCOUK Yeahforit!

  • I got my first bataleon and im hooked, it's the best board technology out there in my opinion. Everyone should get one!!!!

  • Hey, I have a question for you guys. If I'm an all around park rider (both jibs and jumps), should i choose the Airobic or the Evil Twin? I have read reviews that say the Airobic is more jib specific, but I wanted your guy's personal opinion, since you obviously know more about Bataleons than anyone else.

  • @DerekJDignan I think it depends on how aggressive you are and how big you go. I prefer the Airobic for everyday jumping, jibbing and playing around - a fun day with the crew. But if I want a day charging hard and jumping big, then the ET is a little stiffer and more stable at speed - good for landing big fast jumps.

  • Sold.

  • Hey, so I know Lobster snowboards are/will be made by you guys and uses TBT. What I'm curious to know is if it's easy to get a good press in. Currently riding a 2008 Forum Destroyer and I can barely flex it on jibs. Will I be able to with a TBT Lobster board?

  • @Kryptoslol - if you are pressing off centre it can have an effect, but our park and jib boards all have TBT with a wider centre base which makes this not really an issue. All of the feedback from our team is that if you are pressing on the outside inch or so of the board then you are going to come off anyway!

Gulli is killing rails every-which-way on an Airobic (147 FYI) - check him in the new team edit video (google bataleon 2011 team edit).

  • @bataleonsnowboard

by off centre, do you mean leaning a bit more over the tail/nose?

  • @Kryptoslol - not forward or backwards, but if you are pressing a narrow rail and are on the side inch or so of the board there is 1 or 2 degrees of TBT angle which might mean coming off a foot earlier. But if you are so close to the edge you'll likely come off on any board! Boxes and wider rails are no issue. And remember that if you press sideways the TBT will help not catching...

  • @Kryptoslol Eiki and Halldor are tweaking the Lobster boards, but I think the TBT will be pretty similar. Basically pressing a narrow rail on the side inch or so of the board might mean coming off a foot earlier, but if you are so close to the edge you'll likely come off on any board. Boxes and wider rails are no issue. Remember that if you press sideways the TBT will help not catching. Gulli is killing rails on an Airobic - check him in the new team edit (google 'bataleon 2011 team edit').

  • took a while- but thanks! going to order my board tonight!

  • thanks for the help. UGH!

  • p.s. I spent a lot of time reading and re-reading the info on the different kinds of snowboards on your website but wanted your professional opinion. I don't want to mess this up and wanna it right when i buy coz budget is a little tight =(

  • thanks for taking the time to read and respond. I was considering the airobic, evil twin and goliath. as I mentioned, I wanted to do some ground tricks, etc. it I also want to use the board for cruising and carving and I can only afford to buy one board. what's the best among the 3 to do all these? again, thanks!

  • @iamdede the Goliath is the most 'all round' of these three, so if that is most important to you then thats the one. If flat land tricks and small jumps are more your thing then the Airobic is my pick - it's nice and soft, so it's great for playing around - it'll carve too of course!

  • i am currently looking to buy a new snowboard within a week or two. i am learning to do ground tricks and some jumps and boxes. what kind of bataleon snowboard will you recommend for me? THANKS!

  • @iamdede Hi - TBT is great for this kind of riding! Sounds like you are looking for a soft, playful, fun freestyle / jib board, so a couple of options:

    - The Airobic - a soft flex true twin, with freestyle TBT with a wider centre base

    - The Fun Kink - soft flex twin shape with a little setback for more all-mountain performance.

    - The Fun Kink US edition - alternative graphic, centred stance version.

Check the Bataleon website for more info!

    Hope this helps! Mr B.

  • anyone tried this for kiteboarding?

  • I own my own pair of airobic. I mainly train and compete in boarderX and use a custom made Apex board. I have been jibbing for awhile too and I do everything from pretzels to nosebutters and so on. The point is that I would use TBT on BX because I notice I have a faster acceleration with my airobic than my other boards. I do believe TBT works on boardercross but sadly enough, there is no board that is really stiff and has TBT. Can't you create a stiff board with TBT? I would love to test that.

  • @SverigeTomten - for a stiff TBT board check out the Jam or Undisputed!

  • is that a tit at 2:56 ?

  • is the board in the video a prototype?

  • @69hockeyman69 This board is out of our testboard range. These are boards you can try out on our onsnows or get from your local bataleon dealer to try out TBT. For an onsnow near you check our website

  • If you are looking for a Bataleon Snowboard visit : chido.de

  • WANT

  • 157 is too small you guys need a wider selection

  • I'm getting a 2011 Fun.Kink next season, and was wondering:

Does this board have enough flex or should I switch to perhaps an Aerobic?

  • @S2YEscape The flex of the Fun.Kink and the Airobic are comparable so its more a choice between riding the wider TWIN.TBT (AIROBIC) or the FREESTYLE.TBT (FUN.KINK) which is a bit more narrow. ALso you need to consider between FUN.KINK US EDITION (no set back on inserts) of regular FUN.KINK (setback)

  • @bataleonsnowboard aight thanks for the reply, i luv you guys <3

  • i need a wide true twin with a centered stance got any? again...wide.....true twin.....and centered

  • @chelanman94 next season 1011 we will bring the Fun.Kink US edition in a 57WIDE this is a wide twin with a centered insert position...

  • i tried a TBT board this winter and i can tell u that all of this it's ABSOLUTELY true.. now i'm saving money for an evil twin(L)

  • Ok I get the idea .. but how should I apply pressure to the edge?

  • @Proceed1992 just like any other snowboard except you will need less pressure for the first few degrees and then you have full edge contact where the pressure is distributed more equally because of the pre bend shape. when the boards is flat the edges are up when on edge you have full edge again with a natural unbroken radius. Just try it!

  • @bataleonsnowboard

    Ah, ok. :)

But that means it takes more time /

tilt it more until the edge has full contact.

.. I hope I can try out one of these boards.

    :D

  • @Proceed1992 No it actually goes faster and smoother because you are not lifting the board over its widest point anymore but more closer to the narrow part where your feet are. So it starts gripping from the flat area (your bindings) first and as you keep tilting the grip extends out towards the nose/tail instead of starting griping at the nose/tail and working its way back to your bindings. But as I said you need to try it really...

  • hi bataleon,

i love the tbt concept! i have a size 12+ boot and need a wide true twin park board...do you guys make a wide true twin?....if not please do soon!

  • goliath it's on wide! :) @chelanman94

  • I live in Minneapolis and am forsure lookin to get a good jib board. Are the boards soft enough to press?

Also where should i look in town for one of the TBT twin designs??

  • Yes our boards press good! But don't believe us... Go for either Fun.kink, Fun.kink US Edition or Airobic those have the softest flex in the range. In your area you can still get boards at Cal Surf or The Summit. The Hut is unfortunately sold out of Bataleon at the moment but they will stock for next season...

  • ive never seen a TBT option when im shopping for a new board. BUT i am soo getting one with TBT when it comes out!

  • where are you from and where are you shopping? maybe we can point you in the right direction :-)

  • im from jersey, and im looking at burton boards but any boards will do

  • this system's been many years on bataleon!

  • Dear Bataleonowboards,

You wrote that TBT is patented technology so no one can use it. It's not fully true. I mean there is one company that used it (I don't know actually does they use it now or not, but on 2008/09 season they definitly use TBT) And they are technology it's not so great as yours.

    From Ukraine with love!

  • As far as we know nobody has TBT on their boards. However there are some brand that have things that look like weak versions of TBT while claiming the same benefits...

  • Hi Bataleonsnowboard,

All the commentary on the Enemy++ says that it is the lightest snowboard that Bataleon make, but I can find the stats anywhere. Just how light is it? In comparison to the Undisputed say? there is a £300 difference between the two in the UK. would like to know what that buys ! :-)

  • Hello sorry for the late reply teh wieght difference between The Enemy+++ 157 weighs in at a mere 2580gr.! that makes it almost 400gr lighter than a Jam 157... The increase in price is due to the extra carbon needed to reach this weight reduction. We could have made it lighter but than it's not safe. What also adds up is the crazy Nano HiSpeed base which is basically only used in specialized competition grade raceboards and the titanal enhanced double edge technology...

  • what is the name of the board on this video and where can i buy it????

  • This is one of our testboards... these are not for sale but available for testing at bataleon test centers and stores. they come in 3 different tbt shapes. twin, directional twin and freeride tbt...

  • that is a really nice board! you guys should totally release in stores..

  • Hi Bataleon Snowboards,

I think your TBT looks great. I am currently looking for a new board - I have a burton baron es 164 but want something a little different.

I can't decide between a skate banana or a Goliath (I'm 6'2, 180lbs, size 11 uk)...can you give me some ideas as to what the difference is or why I should go bataleon to help me decide?

    Thanks kindly.

    x

  • Both are fun to ride but tbt is more allround as it has all the advantages of banana/rocker but not the disadvantages of losing camber. But don't believe us! Try one yourself..

  • great shit right there. next board is definately Bataleon. Smile! its snowboarding

  • just bought the wiggle stick but after this video im definatly getting a bataleon next

  • @skatebaker993 yeah there is some misunderstanding in the market about TBT and Omatic's Wiggle people think its similar cuz they also bend rail to rail but it really isn't since they have it flat where we have it up (whole nose and tail section) and up where we have it flat (between the bindings) TBT is patented so no one can use it that's why you find it only on Bataleon Snowboards. On all our boards off course as we believe its the best and most logical solution for a board shape

  • @bataleonsnowboard kinda pissed i bought the omatic but w\e

  • Why do none of the normal retailers carry Bataleon?

  • is this kinda like the burton blunt where it has concave?

  • No it's not. Their cruise control shape has one constant angle all the way which makes it totally not like triple base technology. TBT works so good because of the combination of flat base between the bindings for control and only lift in the nose and tail section for forgiveness. Where the angle of lift gradually increases from flat to maximum uplift. Then we always have tip to tail camber combined with that.

  • im happy with my new signel board

  • I tried all kinds of boards, Neversummer(too heavey)Libtech/Gnu(Magnatraction-you now have 7 edges to catch rather than two, only good for ice, while turning, or deep powder when the shape doesn't matter that much, as there's nothing to bite into) Bataleon did it right, best board I have riden, never going back. BATALEON 4 LIFE, YEAH FOR IT!

  • Ik like the boards!

But for me. For my style. I got stock on the Nitro Pantera.

    The board that fits me!

Buddy of me is now at his second Bateleon. He is crazy about your boards!

  • bataleon is the shit

  • Comment removed

  • yes we got both Goliath and Jam com in 57wide and 61 wide the 61 goes 265mm in the center and 315 on nose and tail. TBT works great on wide boards cuz it makes it feel like riding a narrower board

  • kings

  • bataleon is the amazing boards tecnology ever!!bananas and other tech arent good compare bataleon tbt!!!

  • love the TbT

Better than any reverse camber board or magna-traction or combination there of

  • yea, nice vid ,i want to try one of these board.

  • YEA FOR IT

  • i ordered my fun kink usa 149 on pro form two days ago :)

  • last years evil twin was epic. thank you bataleon snowboards!!

  • Its actually a combination of sintered and extruded :-)

  • hey what exactly is a synthduded base?? I'm particularly interested in the goliath, but i don't understand what type of base it has. Product description say the base is "synthduded", is that sintered or extruded?

  • not a problem :-) the base consists of three straight parts. its all straight angles to the scraper. If it would have been a rounded base shape then it would have been a problem.

  • My only question is how do you wax your board at home?

  • get an old iron and a bar of snowboard wax (we recommend one ball jay ) heat iron up not too hot use a low setting! if you see smoke it means you are burning essential ingredients meant for gliding. hold the bar to the iron drip melt it over your base ( about a drip per square inch) take the iron to drops and melt into the base dont leave iron too long in 1 place!. Let cool scrap of base with scraper before riding. (tip! give your base a hot shower before waxing to open up the pores more!)

  • Ok but why are the edges always so try ( in the not flat erea ?

  • yeah of course that's what I usually do. But how do I scrape the base if my scraper is flat and the base is not?
