  • and where is the music you retard !!??

  • You should crank the resonance a little bit to make the changing cutoff frequency more noticeable, and maybe slow the sequencer down a touch.

  • seems, and looks like a very difficult instrument. but i guess u catn tell a book by its cover.

  • Much words, little sounds

  • it is pronounced Mogue i met guys that work for the company. This helps you remember. Cows moo, synths moog.

  • what's the hype you don't need moog to make rad electro tunes

  • dude.. I listend to your stuff, I am fucking jealous. jesus christ, I'm stuck with cakewalk and a microkorg. f my life..

  • what's a moge ?

  • ive always heard it pronounced moog not moge!!!

  • Robert Moog's name is pronounced so that it rhymes with "vogue," not as it's spelled. I used to say it like that, too, but he lived near where I live and an article in the paper shortly after he died had mentioned that pronunciation, so I've gone with it since! :D

  • @DoKashiteru ...i saw him speak once in the 70's and that was the first thing he cleared up ..... not MOOOOOOG like how a cow would say it , but Moge, as in rhymes with "vogue"

  • Yep! Everyone i know calls it a Moog (cow moo! then Gu lol. But what the hell this is a wonderful bit of hardware ;) Thanks for sharing!

  • @katssa28 He is pronouncing it correctly. Read an interview long ago and they made it plain that his name was said as in Vogue.

  • Ummm... you say, in this video, that "there's no precise way to control pitch"..."or precise way to control tempo". Not ture at all. If you don't know how to do these things, perhaps I could teach you. I've been doing stuff way more advanced than that (on Moog & ARP-2500's) for 35+ years. Perhaps you should reshoot or edit this.

    Regards-

  • By "precise," I mean that there's no way that you can enter 440 Hz and 120 BPM on a little screen the way you can on, say, an Electribe. I think I'd have been clearer if I said "there's no easy, quick way to precisely control pitch or tempo like you can on digital synths."

If there is (without serious physical modification of the device), then I'd absolutely love to know! That'd make the Moog even more fun! :D

  • BTW- would ya like to part with the 4 X 4 Moog mixer?... or is that system in a school? From the looks of it... I'm guessing it's one of the pre-1970's systems. Anyway- you can use that 4x4 as a patch preset... esp. if you add toggle switches. Just preset the levels with the pots, and use the switches to change the patches. I modify all my 8-ch. mixers for that function, and use a 5x5 matrix switcher for live gigs. Doing mods can be fun and greatly expand your capabilities.

  • that looks straight out of star trek

  • hmm....somehow this doesnt look like ye olde moog modulars of yore. This is supposed to be a system 55, but i get the feeling there's some "frankeinstein" work afoot, as i did hear that a load of stuff was made in the 80's from moog parts. This just looks...wrong. Having seen and tweaked hans zimmers' system 55 first hand , this just looks all wrong.

  • now THAT is a nice synth!

  • I enjoyed seeing these Moog educational pieces on the real equipment. You're lucky to have the real stuff at your disposal. You honor Mr Moog by showing his creations mean something to a new generation. Good job!

  • Great Moog lesson! Thanks.

  • gähn ... sleep ...

  • I'll stick to my ukelele

  • Oh yeah, nice job on deleting my comment on one of your other videos. ;)

  • I prefer my euroracks.

  • fantastic
