awwe man nice truck but one thing... with the frame.. no problems with it jus a suggestion or something idk if you have looked into it but did you ever think of getting your frame powdercoated? just wondering not trying to talk you down or pick it apart or anything i was jus wondering if you knew about it..? any way beautiful truck man
i got a 77 withe a 400 240k mlz rusted out what paint is left is original lol. i got it for free from my uncle it sat in his driveway for three years. the fucking thing is imortal
my dads got an all original 150 custom same year and right know we are rebuilding a 92-93 mustang ho motor for it! were gonna get a truck camper for it and take it to heshey this year cant wait! my dads also got a '77 f250 ranger and it needs a restoration but it ran all the way up till it got into a flood and when we tried to fire it up it ran for a while but since it was sitting for like 6 years it stalled after but hey, it ran for like 3 mins! s
im restoring a 79 f150 4x4. 9 inch lift on 39s. rebuilt 351m 4 speed. electric blue. dana 60 rear dana 44 front. it is a hoss. everything on it is new. i will try and get a video up of mine. i will let you know when i do.
i like the beginning when your driving a ford...everything's just a blurr...that's because there broken down on the side of the road and everyone's driving by so fast....As much as i hate them i have a 1979 f250...nice build bro
well i will say this, of all the Fords my family has owned and owns, i have never been stranded, and i have never had a break down in one, now i have been left stranded by Dodges and GM products more than once, so for me everyone else is a blur, as i pass them by on the road in my Ford! also you hate Fords, yet you have a '79 F-250, now that makes me laugh! :) its much better to like Fords, then to hate them!
@BRENTHENRY1989 dude when my dad still drove the truck i drive it broke down. 94 f150. heres the story. the engine came with push rods that werent 1 piece. so the ball broke off one at the top and he had to replace it. before that it ate through a stock push rod like nothing cause it was such a tough rebuild engine. so now it has solid 1 piece push rods and has been fine since. absolutely no probs i just keep up on the maintenance.
There are lots of 73-79 Ford trucks running around town here A friend bought a 79 Ford with a 360 engine 2 years ago and has collector plates on it. It's all original with no rust.
lets just say too much, but in my area there hard to find, let alone pick and choose which one you want, and to bring one up from south of the border was a expensive option, and troublesome, since the border wants to go over the vehicles and let alone our own Government inspection when i go to put it in my name, and the headaches involved with a international ownership swap would be something else!, thus i payed $1,900 and that includes the turbine rims, and a '71 302w and AOD on the side,
also i have been able to sell parts off the truck as we come across other parts, sold the 9" rear end for $200 and maybe i might have the old tailgate sold for $100 and then i have a extra hood, the owner gave me a really nice one, thus i got a extra hood for sale, then i have a set of headers that came with the truck but ironically don't fit, ah well they would have never have fit anyways when we put the truck on the 4x4 frame, the dang full length headers run into the front drive shaft!
thats on my 88 f250 tho. the 77 will just get a four link and some fox coil overs to make it a crawler type truck, its gonna be used mainly for trails and the 88 will be for the dunes and cruisin around
well i can fit 35's now with no problems other then off set of the wheels. 37's will be on there when i get home again but only cause im gonna modify the fenders and make a baja style fender that sits higher up and wider out to fit the tires tehn do a solid axle conversion and a 6 inch lift then possible 39's if they look appropriate
you should be able to fit 39-42" tires easily with a 9-12 inch lift, but i am thinking a 6" lift is as high as you want to go,unless you want to sink some major money into it, maybe a 2-3 inch body lift is in order to top the 6" lift, i know the costs, because i was pricing out a number of lift heights, and you can easily do a 6" lift with out buying a major suspension kit,you can do it with stock Ford parts, heck i got 1 ton E-350 Ambulance coil springs in the front of my truck, it sits up now!
i got a 77 short box 4x4 with a 400c and a 88 f250 4x4 long box extended cab with a 460 and then my daily driver which is a 92 f150 2 wheel drive reg cab long box thats lowered 4 inches. i want a 79 f250 ext cab long box. thats after my finish my 77
sounds good too me! a 73-79 Ford short box 4x4 has such a nice look! short and sporty! and with a 6" lift the stance is stunning! i am so glad i went with a lift, also if ya want to stay in the loop on my truck, i suggest you subscribe to my channel, and check out my other videos, and thanks for the comment, and watching,
well i am thinking you might have some tired front coil springs, also these trucks came with a factory height difference, the rear end is taller, since when you have a load in the bed, the truck will level out, instead of the nose aiming skyward when you have a load in the bed,how far off is the difference? just 2 inches? i would leave it alone, as you can run into problems with the pitman arm,and other steering linkages, but if you want some tough front coils get some out of a 75-91 E-450 ambulance
yeah i got some 31's for it, they where in my price range, plus it will be a daily driver so i had to limit size for gas mileage, i know i know, but with a small block 302w and a AOD 4 speed auto, i kinda wanted a well balanced truck, with the best of both worlds, plus i don't plan on extreme off roading or towing, so this truck suites me, also the 31's are on the turbines pictured in the video, and thanks for the comment :)
Whoa, it sure looked like you knew what you were doin, id be scared to mess up...- by the way how do you know the year of a ford truck??? ive been looking and couldn't find it.
nice friggin truck and great work your lucky to have a talented dad and 77 was a good year thats the year i was born hope to see you out at the farm one weekend
i got three fords of varying years and body styles and i love all three of them. two are gonna be converted to hot rod 4x4's and the other is gonna get more or less left alone. i want more.
thanks for the comment, and there will be some updates coming up so stay tuned! just got some new bigger tires for the rims, so it should help give it that 4x4 look, and paint will be going on in the next 2 weeks, i think it will be done by late July
nice truck! i have 2 trucks that i want to restore...my first vehicle; 1979 F-150 Ranger 4x4, i love that truck. the second one i acquired from my grandmother; 1977 F-100 2wd short bed. gonna be awhile but i want to get them done! can't wait to see your truck finished!
thanks for the comment, and your trucks sound cool! :) keep them both, they will serve you a long time, and do them right, don't cut corners, if you can do something better do it!, trust me its worth it!, i can't wait to get my truck done, its taking awhile, but so many factors hold things back, like time, money, and weather, it should be done by this summer or late summer, i will be putting some updates together in the coming weeks, so stay tuned! :) and i can't wait to see it finished too!
thanks for the comment.....and i really want to see it finished as well!, and no worries as soon as its done you will see it on here, and a few other famous youtube places like Davidsfarm
Not a bad truck, ime also restoring a 77 shot box 4 wheel drive, its got the 351M in it, i juss got the motor runnin good, and startin on the body work next.
where in the same stage, body work, the cab is mostly done, the box is where our work was, dings and dents and some panel repairs, its all worth it in the end when you got something no one else has on the road, at least not a lot of people (my area I'm lucky to see a car from the 80s let alone the 70s, lots of rust around here), so i will unique driving my old ford around! :) the thumps up and cool truck comments are just icing on the cake! :) also bringing up memories of peoples past
i also have a 77 ford f150 custom but 2wd. it has a 351 engine. bought it for 6 hundred dollars and runs real well. it was hit on the drivers side on the front. im trying to restore it too but im not doing a frame off cuz i dont have the money and time now but the floor has barely any rust on it and same with the frame. its all blue in and out but im painting it all black in and out with black seats with red cloth inserts. tying to keep it orginal as possible cuz it looks better in my opnion.
sounds good, i always like hearing people restoring 67-79 ford trucks, there really the last of the last of real trucks, today's trucks are fine and dandy, but there to car like for me, and with modern electronics you need a NASA scientist at times to diagnose a problem or even figure out how the navigation system works! :0, i wish more people my age *19* would see the light and restore a old car or truck for there fist car instead of buying the first little heap they see, thanks for commenting
exactly im 17 and id rather a truck than a little honda civic anyday. i love the new trucks today but i like these trucks alot too because there simple and easy to work on and your not running to the dealer everytime you have a problem
thanks for the agreement comment, i see you really like my truck's video, if ya want you can subscribe to my channel, then you can stay up to date on it! :) and your correct, people i know where shocked to hear i got such a old truck, they figure i should get some Honda civic heap and dump money into something that isn't even worth it, i was smart and got something i actually like, i hate spending money on things i don't like, its just pointless to waste money
she looks very nice. I have always loved those 73-79 ford pickups i had a 79 F150but the red and white paint was opposite to yours. thanks for the video by the way what does 89 stand for in your you tube id? thanks
thanks for the comment, and i love the 73-79 Ford trucks, also the 67-72 are really cool too!,and cool to hear you had the same paint combo, i was thinking about switching the colors around, but i find i like this paint scheme, oh was yours 2x4 or 4x4? and was it a long box? or short like mine? and too answer your question i created this Channel back in 2006, and i created a account with my name, and the 1989 is the year i was born! : ) I'd rather people use my real name instead of some user name
i will put up a part 2 as soon as more is finished, and i might be doing a update video on it, and the cold weather is holding us back (the garage is not heated!) which means body fill and primer can not be applied, we are working on the box right now, then once its done,we will be shopping for paint, the red i picked is a ford red called Colorado Red,and i am also looking at a ford white called Performance white, i can't wait till we finish it! Sept 2007- to present! almost 2 years! its worth it
the headers are stock 80s Ford Mustang shorty headers, i plan on bending up exhaust pipe up to the shorty headers, i did have full length headers for the truck, but i bought them back when it was rear wheel drive, but when we found the mint 77 short box f-150 4x4 frame we found out the header on the drivers side would run into the front drive shaft, so these stock shorty headers are perfect and where only 35 bucks, and they have a corrosion resisting metal in them, so they should last awhile
i have seen videos on here of trucks like mine, over in England, and over in Australia, except they have the steering wheel on the right hand side, thanks for your comment, and kind words
I have one truck like that and I could use about 5 haha. A daily driver (351m + 4 door) two work ones (both 460s, one flat bed the other normal box) a mud/ huntin truck (460 + 4" lift and over sized offroadtires) and a show truck. Well its lookin good. Good luck. I'm still huntin for a bed for my 78 and when i swap beds i'm gonna fix the rust spot on the cab
Yeah, mine too. I just got another Ford (not as old as I would like) its a 91 F-250 Custom with a 351w. Newer than I would like but for $300 I couldn't pass it up. Check it out I'm uploading 2 videos
I'm sitting on a 67 F250 4 door. It was an old army truck I have been waiting to get the money so my husband and I can fix her up. I have to order alot of parts custom made since they didn't make 4 doors then except for the military, and the railroad. I have threatened to sell it a few times because I get so disgusted with watching her rust away. while My sweet hubby buys more old vehicles that we cant afford to fix. Sorry just venting. I wish I could get mine done like that. good job on video
thanks for the comment and hope you can get to fixing up that 67 F250 4 door, and i know they are rare and where customized by outside companies for the forestry and government, and sounds like you have a number of other classics, great to hear, i know its sad to see them rust away, but its sadder to see them crushed, at least you might be able to save the ones your husband buys! if you work at it right you can make profits on them after restoring one! which can fund fixing another!
oh and please check out my other videos and stay tuned and please subscribe! and i will be making more videos on my truck and other classic cars/trucks and other cool stuff! : ) also you should make some videos of the 67 f250 and the others! or even a slideshow! it would be great to see them! i can help guide you how to use windows movie maker, or suggest some other free easy to use video editors
that is a beatiful old ford. i love these old fords. im putting a 77 highboy together myself with a built 351m in her. my plan is to turn it into a mild pull truck and a mild show truck i can still drive on the streets.
i went and looked at your truck, don't put it down, it is one nice 71 f100, its a keeper in my books! :) you can't beat these old ford trucks! :) i don't care if it has a i6 to a 302w to a 390 to the 460 they are all great in my books! :) even if there rear wheel drive they are still great little pickups, but the 4x4 is quite handy to have, thanks for complimenting my truck and don't put yours down so fast
That was nice thanks usually people arent that eager to compliment something old except like the 60s trucks. Only one guy said it was nice oh well at least i fixed the manafold problem some wierd hole the size of a quarter made it seem like it was a whole lot louder
Sweet restoration, I have an old 1973 Special edition Mustang Fastback with the Cleaveland 351HO, been parked for 25 years at my wharehouse been thinking about restoring. Use to blow the doors off Plymouth Roadrunners and run low 13's STOCK. Rats have nested in the interior tho :(
shame about the 73 mustang :( you should bring it out! and make a video of it! and cool story about blowing the doors off road runners! :) can't wait to see pictures and a video?
Yea too bad it has an inch of dust on it. I took a look at it this christmas and there were rats running around inside the dash. That stang could 3rd gear scratch at over 100mph. My uncle owned the roadrunner and he told me last week that the only car that ever beat his roadrunner was my pops 73 mustang SE 351HO. My mother wont let me near it. Last time she drove it she went to make a left turn and accedentaly did 3 donuts, scarred the hell out of her. Been parked ever since. :)
looks like you got to start explaining to mom that you really need to bring that car out of retirement! :) sounds like to good of a car to let rot away :( make it a mission to get that car at least pulled out and cleaned up and started! and word of advice, do a complete fluid change and flush, since the fluids are what 30 years old? then a couple squirts of motor oil in the spark plug holes, this might help on turning it over, and get a socket and test if it will even turn over at first!
thanks for the nice comment! and your positive nice comment is a nice change coming from a chevy guy! :) and you have some nice videos! you mentioned about taking a truck out to davidsfarm? i live in the same city as dave, i plan on heading up to the farm as soon as my truck is done, except i don't plan on using it as a ice breaker! lol lol :)
Thanks. Ya im still going down sometime this year! i was gonna go last year but My truck need some repairs done to it so most of the cash i had to go down whent on my truck :( but like i said im planning on going down sometime this year! so your gonna see that truck doing sky hill!! lol...
yes i still do have the 15 spoke turbine rims, and sorry they are staying with the truck :) and i like the style of them, in fact these are the only rims i like, besides some nice 5 spoke torque thrust rims, but these came with the truck and once i get them redone and painted with the black inserts they will look as good as new, and if you put up a local wanted ad for these style of rims who knows what might bite?
and to answer your second question, no we aren't the guys who built the 70s 1978-79 4 door bronco, i have seen pics of one, and the garage looks the same, but unfortunately we did not build it, although it would be a cool project :) and the 4 door 78-79 broncos look really cool, thanks for commenting
Yes yes,I know the Tundra is the gayest thing to ever be built on this planet in thousands of years. But hey,at least its the best trucks for faggots like ME!
OH MAN! My first car that i bought on my own was a 1977 Ford F-150 2wd close to this one! 302, C6 tranny, & dark blue. I bought it when i was 16(1996) for $800, drove it till 2002, Sold if for $800 to someone in my neighborhood. He took the truck got it repainted jet black had it parked in his garage... hell broke loose, his garage door opener shorted out and caught on fire, this caused a 5 gallon gas can in his garage to blow up and his whole garadge was up in flames along with the F-150
cont. Thank God that he and his wife got out of the house safley and their house wasnt completly gone. But i remember driving by the house the next day, his garage door completly melted you could just look right in, & there it was all charred, nothing left on the interior tires melted, etc the whole truck was gone. my heart sank
that is a sad story, the best part is no one died, but in, my eyes the old ford got burned alive, sad to hear peoples vehicles get burned, and there garage and home too, its a sad state to see someones home burned, and a tragic event
i did some research and the AOD 4x4 aluminum adapter has the same bolt pattern the c6 does, so it bolts right up to a np205, i had a rwd aod, so when the went inside to swap out the short tail stock for the longer 4x4 one, they rebuilt the insides. then i went to the auto wreckers and picked up a adapter from a 4x4 aod, and with some simple drilling, the t-case shifter handle clears the adapter, really simple, once you start researching it. thanks for the comment :)
it has stock 4 inch lift blocks on the rear suspension and is getting 4 inch lift coil springs in the front, and we added a helper leaf in the rear, this thing has really tough suspension, i won't be towing anything real big, but if theres a load of chopped fire wood, or bricks or something that is heavy i wanted some tough springs, the rear springs where upgraded to about f-250-350 range, they are the 3" wide springs, and the truck has f-150 axles, just wanted no sagging springs.
it has been converted to 4x4, the 4x4 tailstock was added which was longer to reach into the transfer case, and the adapter housing had to be bolted on, you can see it in the picture, its the piece between the transmission and transfer case. and it should work fine, the AOD was a universal tranny from e-series vans to crown vics and town cars to f-150s and mustangs and cougars and thunderbirds. and was used in the big broncos of the 80s and 4x4 f-150s
thanks for the comment! me and my dad are working at it! and are doing are best, glad my dad has been doing body work since he was a early teenager, and he has tons of auto knowledge which helps! ;) wish every father and son could do this
if ya want high quality version please look at the video description, and click the link, for some reason this video does not display the watch video in high quality option?
Thanks for the comment bud! i only did my best and i think i succeed in this video, i plan to make more videos! so stay tuned, i will have a few videos at weeks end, and when i have something major to update on the truck i will!
hey thanks for the comment on my video. Mine was a frame up resto very much like yours. I would like to make a slide show video like yours showing from start to finish. It would be almost the exact same video except with a Bronco instead of pickup :) yours looks like it started out looking a lot better than mine did though. oh yea and i added the 9" lift springs instead of staying stock
Thanks for the comment jack! its fun to be able to reply to my own comments on my own videos! lol and it took me about 2 hours to teach myself how to use movie maker! it was well worth it! really fun! just have to work on moving videos! but the only thing is i have no camcorder! but my digital camera has a video mode, so there is a possibility of a moving video! talk to ya later jack!
Nice truck and nice work on your first video I will say your a hell of alot farther than I am on my build. If only my dad knew body work then it would be easy to do but if theres a will theres a way. Great work and looking forward to more updates.
Thanks Richard for the comment! i was always planning on making a video, but i always put it off, thinking that i could not do it! but if there's a will there's a way! lol i plan to update on the project once the truck has progressed to completion, i do have plans of car show picture slide show, that may take 2-3 videos! to show all pics and info on each car! any ways thanks for commenting and talk to ya later Richard!
Great music & good job!

@BRENTHENRY1989 Exactly. He hates his own truck. You have to replace parts every year on GM rigs, Fords last, Chevy's and GMC's, don't.

hi
hey i have a 79 short bed lariat
with only 60thousand original miles..
my trucks looks lower in the front.
how hard is to put a leveling kit on the front... (2 inches)?
will the handling be the same?
I would love to have my truck level but if is gonna afect the handling i won't mess with it..
it drives super nice right now..
what do you sugest?
thanks man..
mascota525 2 years ago
well i am thinking you might have some tired front coil springs, also these trucks came with a factory height difference, the rear end is taller, since when you have a load in the bed, the truck will level out, instead of the nose aiming skyward when you have a load in the bed,how far off is the difference? just 2 inches? i would leave it alone, as you can run into problems with the pitman arm,and other steering linkages, but if you want some tough front coils get some out of a 75-91 E-450 ambulance

get some 35's for it..thsoe trucks look best with the bigger tires
ndubb1 2 years ago
yeah i got some 31's for it, they where in my price range, plus it will be a daily driver so i had to limit size for gas mileage, i know i know, but with a small block 302w and a AOD 4 speed auto, i kinda wanted a well balanced truck, with the best of both worlds, plus i don't plan on extreme off roading or towing, so this truck suites me, also the 31's are on the turbines pictured in the video, and thanks for the comment :)

nice truck! i have 2 trucks that i want to restore...my first vehicle; 1979 F-150 Ranger 4x4, i love that truck. the second one i acquired from my grandmother; 1977 F-100 2wd short bed. gonna be awhile but i want to get them done! can't wait to see your truck finished!

thanks for the comment, and your trucks sound cool!

Not a bad truck, ime also restoring a 77 shot box 4 wheel drive, its got the 351M in it, i juss got the motor runnin good, and startin on the body work next.
chasediddy99 2 years ago
where in the same stage, body work, the cab is mostly done, the box is where our work was, dings and dents and some panel repairs, its all worth it in the end when you got something no one else has on the road, at least not a lot of people (my area I'm lucky to see a car from the 80s let alone the 70s, lots of rust around here), so i will unique driving my old ford around! :) the thumps up and cool truck comments are just icing on the cake! :) also bringing up memories of peoples past
BRENTHENRY1989 2 years ago
i also have a 77 ford f150 custom but 2wd. it has a 351 engine. bought it for 6 hundred dollars and runs real well. it was hit on the drivers side on the front. im trying to restore it too but im not doing a frame off cuz i dont have the money and time now but the floor has barely any rust on it and same with the frame. its all blue in and out but im painting it all black in and out with black seats with red cloth inserts. tying to keep it orginal as possible cuz it looks better in my opnion.
donldonldonl 2 years ago
sounds good, i always like hearing people restoring 67-79 ford trucks, there really the last of the last of real trucks, today's trucks are fine and dandy, but there to car like for me, and with modern electronics you need a NASA scientist at times to diagnose a problem or even figure out how the navigation system works! :0, i wish more people my age *19* would see the light and restore a old car or truck for there fist car instead of buying the first little heap they see, thanks for commenting
BRENTHENRY1989 2 years ago
exactly im 17 and id rather a truck than a little honda civic anyday. i love the new trucks today but i like these trucks alot too because there simple and easy to work on and your not running to the dealer everytime you have a problem
donldonldonl 2 years ago
thanks for the agreement comment, i see you really like my truck's video, if ya want you can subscribe to my channel, then you can stay up to date on it! :) and your correct, people i know where shocked to hear i got such a old truck, they figure i should get some Honda civic heap and dump money into something that isn't even worth it, i was smart and got something i actually like, i hate spending money on things i don't like, its just pointless to waste money

she looks very nice. I have always loved those 73-79 ford pickups i had a 79 F150but the red and white paint was opposite to yours. thanks for the video by the way what does 89 stand for in your you tube id? thanks
skiddy8619 2 years ago
thanks for the comment, and i love the 73-79 Ford trucks, also the 67-72 are really cool too!,and cool to hear you had the same paint combo, i was thinking about switching the colors around, but i find i like this paint scheme, oh was yours 2x4 or 4x4? and was it a long box? or short like mine? and too answer your question i created this Channel back in 2006, and i created a account with my name, and the 1989 is the year i was born! : ) I'd rather people use my real name instead of some user name
BRENTHENRY1989 2 years ago
mine was a long box and a 4speed 4x4 with the old trusty 300-6 cylinder. When will you post part 2 of your video i can't wait to see it thanks
skiddy8619 2 years ago
i will put up a part 2 as soon as more is finished, and i might be doing a update video on it, and the cold weather is holding us back (the garage is not heated!) which means body fill and primer can not be applied, we are working on the box right now, then once its done,we will be shopping for paint, the red i picked is a ford red called Colorado Red,and i am also looking at a ford white called Performance white, i can't wait till we finish it! Sept 2007- to present! almost 2 years! its worth it
BRENTHENRY1989 2 years ago
yea it will be worth the wait, and i don't blame you for not working in the cold weather that sucks. thanks and good luck

where did you get your headers
donnyvanleeuwen 2 years ago
the headers are stock 80s Ford Mustang shorty headers, i plan on bending up exhaust pipe up to the shorty headers, i did have full length headers for the truck, but i bought them back when it was rear wheel drive, but when we found the mint 77 short box f-150 4x4 frame we found out the header on the drivers side would run into the front drive shaft, so these stock shorty headers are perfect and where only 35 bucks, and they have a corrosion resisting metal in them, so they should last awhile
BRENTHENRY1989 2 years ago
Interesting, I re-did an 84 F-150 and used quite a lot of 'Stanger parts, including the shorties, cam, etc....

I wish I could get mine done like that. good job on video
sjostrom610 2 years ago
thanks for the comment and hope you can get to fixing up that 67 F250 4 door, and i know they are rare and where customized by outside companies for the forestry and government, and sounds like you have a number of other classics, great to hear, i know its sad to see them rust away, but its sadder to see them crushed, at least you might be able to save the ones your husband buys! if you work at it right you can make profits on them after restoring one! which can fund fixing another!

i went and looked at your truck, don't put it down, it is one nice 71 f100, its a keeper in my books!

Sweet restoration, I have an old 1973 Special edition Mustang Fastback with the Cleaveland 351HO, been parked for 25 years at my wharehouse been thinking about restoring. Use to blow the doors off Plymouth Roadrunners and run low 13's STOCK. Rats have nested in the interior tho :(
Only like 500 made
Spywell 3 years ago
shame about the 73 mustang :( you should bring it out! and make a video of it! and cool story about blowing the doors off road runners! :) can't wait to see pictures and a video?
-Brent
BRENTHENRY1989 3 years ago
Yea too bad it has an inch of dust on it. I took a look at it this christmas and there were rats running around inside the dash. That stang could 3rd gear scratch at over 100mph. My uncle owned the roadrunner and he told me last week that the only car that ever beat his roadrunner was my pops 73 mustang SE 351HO. My mother wont let me near it. Last time she drove it she went to make a left turn and accedentaly did 3 donuts, scarred the hell out of her. Been parked ever since. :)
Spywell 3 years ago
looks like you got to start explaining to mom that you really need to bring that car out of retirement!

You still happen to have those 15 spoke turbine style knock rims do you? I'm looking for 2 more of them to make a set.
And you or your dad wouldn't happen to be the guys who made the 70's 4-door Bronco are you?
thanatos103 3 years ago
yes i still do have the 15 spoke turbine rims, and sorry they are staying with the truck :) and i like the style of them, in fact these are the only rims i like, besides some nice 5 spoke torque thrust rims, but these came with the truck and once i get them redone and painted with the black inserts they will look as good as new, and if you put up a local wanted ad for these style of rims who knows what might bite?
BRENTHENRY1989 3 years ago
and to answer your second question, no we aren't the guys who built the 70s 1978-79 4 door bronco, i have seen pics of one, and the garage looks the same, but unfortunately we did not build it, although it would be a cool project :) and the 4 door 78-79 broncos look really cool, thanks for commenting

OH MAN! My first car that i bought on my own was a 1977 Ford F-150 2wd close to this one! 302, C6 tranny, & dark blue. I bought it when i was 16(1996) for $800, drove it till 2002, Sold if for $800 to someone in my neighborhood. He took the truck got it repainted jet black had it parked in his garage... hell broke loose, his garage door opener shorted out and caught on fire, this caused a 5 gallon gas can in his garage to blow up and his whole garadge was up in flames along with the F-150
hotrodkid7 3 years ago
cont. Thank God that he and his wife got out of the house safley and their house wasnt completly gone. But i remember driving by the house the next day, his garage door completly melted you could just look right in, & there it was all charred, nothing left on the interior tires melted, etc the whole truck was gone. my heart sank
hotrodkid7 3 years ago
that is a sad story, the best part is no one died, but in, my eyes the old ford got burned alive, sad to hear peoples vehicles get burned, and there garage and home too, its a sad state to see someones home burned, and a tragic event
BRENTHENRY1989 3 years ago
Awsome progress 1973-79 Ford trucks are worth restoring by all means, How did you mate an AOD to NP205?
tubewaldo 3 years ago
i did some research and the AOD 4x4 aluminum adapter has the same bolt pattern the c6 does, so it bolts right up to a np205, i had a rwd aod, so when the went inside to swap out the short tail stock for the longer 4x4 one, they rebuilt the insides. then i went to the auto wreckers and picked up a adapter from a 4x4 aod, and with some simple drilling, the t-case shifter handle clears the adapter, really simple, once you start researching it. thanks for the comment :)

why does the box look so high when it was on the frame? are you gonna lift it or something?
nflfreak4341 3 years ago
it has stock 4 inch lift blocks on the rear suspension and is getting 4 inch lift coil springs in the front, and we added a helper leaf in the rear, this thing has really tough suspension, i won't be towing anything real big, but if theres a load of chopped fire wood, or bricks or something that is heavy i wanted some tough springs, the rear springs where upgraded to about f-250-350 range, they are the 3" wide springs, and the truck has f-150 axles, just wanted no sagging springs.
BRENTHENRY1989 3 years ago
plus its a 4x4 and i wanted it to sit a little higher than stock, plus slightly larger tires are going on it. thanks for commenting
BRENTHENRY1989 3 years ago
im just wondering, how will that lincon transmishon work out,
chasleo123 3 years ago
it has been converted to 4x4, the 4x4 tailstock was added which was longer to reach into the transfer case, and the adapter housing had to be bolted on, you can see it in the picture, its the piece between the transmission and transfer case. and it should work fine, the AOD was a universal tranny from e-series vans to crown vics and town cars to f-150s and mustangs and cougars and thunderbirds. and was used in the big broncos of the 80s and 4x4 f-150s
BRENTHENRY1989 3 years ago
