  • Visiting Avebury this week, I notice that these trees are now fenced off for erosion control, as footfalls are now undermining the root structure leaving some parts completely exposed; but people were stepping over the fencing to tie their ribbons to the branches, and encouraging children to do the same.

  • update: The damaged root area has now been turfed over to help them regrow. I hope it happens.
