(also, what does specialist pro do? because if it gives all the perks it must be messed up because recon pro will put your enemies on the mini map and everytime i get specialist pro it does not enable recon (or at least recon pro) and i never really tested this out but i saw it didnt enaable that. Is it supposed to or does it just enable all the proficiencies

When you get the 7 or 8 killstreak with a shotgun you get all the perks and proficiencies except damage unless you are already using it, so you got the moab without damage I think which is even more impressive :)

Xcal's opinion reigns supreme over anyone's. Xcal says damage is better therefore damage is better.

He tested the Spas under set ranges and situations, in reality in a game people are going to be running towards/away from you, and you aren't always going to hit 100% accuracy like TmarTn did in his video. So yeah, in the situations he has created range was better, but damage in actual gameplay just works more.

In an ideal situation, where every single pellet is gonna hit the target, range is better (like on tmartn video cause he was playing in a private match). On a real situation, your target is gonna be moving and there is no way you can hit all the pellets, all the time, so it's better to have maximum damage on the ones that do hit.

@12397Freddy TmarTn tested it out in a private match where there was no chance that any of the shotgun pellets would miss, but in real situations when you are rushing around corners with a shotgun it's better to have damage because not all of the pellets have to hit the guy to get the kill, if you use specialist you get range + damage which is super fun cuz you can get long range kills without having to hit all the pellets. anyway watch booman61's shotgun gameplays...
