  • Excellent, thanks for your time and effort

  • Thanks for this!

  • liked c64 musica

  • I love the music on the commodore versions.

  • Te falto el Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins

  • In the original Ghosts 'n' Goblins in the arcade, I got all the way through the utterly impossible level 5 after what seemed like 100 tries, and when I finally beat the two red guards at the end, instead of getting a key, the game told me that I couldn't go on because I didn't have the shield equipped as my weapon!

Never did the game say that I needed to equip it until after I beat the level, or ever explain why that even makes sense; then it sent me back to level 4! Go to hell Capcom!

  • There's also Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins for the PSP.

  • I've only played the NES and SNES versions.

The Ghosts n' Goblins NES version was MUCH harder than the SNES Super Ghouls n' Ghosts version. I did like the Mode 7 Graphics the Super version used on some of its levels, such as the Ghoul's Stomach (Level 4) when the screen rotates itself. And I hated that damn Red Devil in both versions. The Green and Gold Armor on the Super versions using the expanded power-ups helped me tremendously against those damn Red Devils on the Super version.

  • I have "Pac-Man" and/or "Ms Pac-Man" on about 7 different systems, but I haven't played either "Ghosts 'n Goblins" or "Ghouls 'n Ghosts" on ANY format. More proof that I'm extremely stupid, and that I must recify this situation as soon as possible . That NES version of "Ghosts 'n Goblins" looks fun, and that Game Boy Color version looks impressive considering the hardware...

  • @MattTheSaiyan Try the SNES version. an EXTREMELY great port !

  • Seems like a lot of people overlook the PSP game Ultimate Ghouls N Ghosts.

  • @Sifer2 I generally focus My attention on the older systems because of the limitations the systems have.

  • Holy cow! The Game boy color version sounds just like a C64 game!

  • The SMS port had decent graphics better than Nes. Then again the SMS was more powerful not many people know that

  • Awesome video.

  • @BluBoulzor thanks ! :)

  • Can you play this on a Cps1? :(

  • @DarkGreen2000 GNG arcade is CPS1. :)

  • @wingnut4427

Whoops sorry for not being specific, I know you can play ghouls n ghost on Cps1, but can you play the very first one in the series; ghost and goblins.

  • @DarkGreen2000 no. It wasn't specific to the hardware. I believe the CPS1 hardware was far more powerful & had a better sound device as well. Still not sure. I use MAME for both of them. seems to work well enough for me. :)

  • @wingnut4427

alright thanks, I was thinking of find a Mame emulator for my psp, too lazy to find and download though so thats why i asked lol

  • Respond to this video... ghouls n ghosts that is.

  • Cool video!

Hey, you should also check out, if you haven't already, the ports on the NEC SuperGrafX and especially the Sharp x68000 port of this which is nearly arcade perfect! I couldn't believe how great it was. It's hands down the best version of the game aside from playing the arcade game or emulating it.

  • @videogameobsession I have had no luck locating those ports. I did some research before trying to do the video. But those were out of My reach & I couldn't add them. I wanted to add the DOS, TG16, & the Sinclair as well .. but couldn't land the roms. I really wish I had 30 mins a pop to spend on these vids but Youtube only allows me 15. :( Ohh well. I'm really glad you guys are enjoying these vids. Currently working on a few more. Hopefully I'll have them posted By this coming weekend. :)

  • @wingnut4427 It's a great video either way. Probably better off without the Japanese stuff anyway. :P

If you are looking for a tough to find rom please let me know. I've been collecting roms since the old BBS days ('89-on). I've shared quite a lot of old games that weren't dumped also. So feel free to send me a message if you are looking for something in particular.

  • @videogameobsession Awesome ! I'll have to hook you up as well ! :D There are some special downloads with some of My vids. Just have to look for them ;) hint hint nudge nudge ! lol

  • @videogameobsession ok ! I found out Why I couldn't locate it. it was under the Japanese name Daimakaimura I'll do a separate video for it. Thanks for the tip !! it is an Awesome title ! :D

  • @GamingHistorySource Ahh yeah, I guess I should have mentioned that. :P

Ghosts 'N Goblins was the very first 3rd party NES game I bought on release day! Man, that game drove me crazy, but I kept at it and finally beat it, well the first round anyway.

Ghouls 'N Ghosts was a much better game imo. It was more balanced and looked/sounded fantastic on the Genesis. It was a blast to play & I didn't mind playing through a 2nd time either!

Super G&G... The slowdown and cheap enemy hits bugged me.

  • @videogameobsession AHH !! the NES release in 1985 .. MAN !! I remember that. I was so stoked ! A guy I knew had a friend in New York that hooked him up with a console & I was Dumbfounded ! I wanted one so bad it made me sick ! But if I'm not mistaken He paid 200 bones for it. OUCH ! He too had the ghosts 'n Goblins game. Needless to say. He was really popular around the neighborhood. I think I got to play it once the whole time. lol But the fast fare had a ghosts 'n Goblins machine so ! was ok.

  • I didn't know there were so many versions. Do you own all of the games that get compared?

  • @whiteoreoxx No. Only a few here & there. I do all of My comparisons using Emulators & roms. Not the best way to do it, but it streamlines everything. :)
