  • Had mine for 7 yrs. Awsome with Ernie Ball strings.

  • @hotrod90806 wow bro is it this ss10

  • its funny that u can get it at walmart becuase u can have it ship to the store for free where i live but is it good im getting it for xmas

  • @stealthassault - it's nice you got a good deal on shipping. I got a great deal on total price including shipping. BTW, I've done more work on the guitar. Watch out for a an update video.

  • @stealthassault ha ha me 2

  • its funny that u can get it at walmart becuase u can have it ship to the store for free where i live

  • is this full size or smaller then normal

  • @atyabbaig - good question. I don't know the answer as I don't have another strat style guitar to compare it with. Compared to my Epiphone Les Paul Jr., they're about the same size.

  • @mgjr73 thanks i wanted to know cause when i got it out of the packaging it looked alot smaller then i thought it would be

  • @thebestmusicfm - I don't see why getting these guitars at wal-mart would be funny.

  • YELLOW LEDBETTER PROPS AMIGO

  • are u using the original strings if so get new ones

  • hey i think i have the same guitar as you. i got it a couple years ago and it looks pretty much the same except my neck is dark. i was hearing you play and it sounds nothing like mine. i don't know if it is a problem with my guitar or what?

  • I Have the Same Guitar I got it Brand New..Im Loving every bit of it.. I did have to get it tuned a few times

  • This was my very first guitar, and I still play it sometimes. But it was always coming out of tune, was this a problem for anybody else?

  • @coolbeans400561 - Although not always the case, this happens more often on budget guitars (you get what you pay for). It may be one or a combination: incompatible string gauge, temp and humidity, the way it's stored, old strings, poor setup, improper stringing, and the list goes on. There are several solutions but main thing is to get it set up right and know that tuning no matter how often is part of a guitar player's life, unless you're a big rock star and somebody else does it for you.

  • the fenders a starcaster

  • Or would it be smart to get the same thing exept its a fender strat, squier amp, and has a stand?

  • Hey, Im saving up for a bundle with this, a practice amp, extra strings, a gig bag, a cord chart, a strap, an instremental cord, 5 picks, and an electric tuner, for the price of 149.97$. im 12 and it will be my first electric. I chose this because i wanted a strat. I just have a few questions. Is it a full-size? I need a full-size to learn better. And is it worth the hard work of getting the money? Thank you and sorry if im bothering you.

  • @tadludewig - thanks for watching. The SS10 is a full size strat copy. IMO, it is worth the $150 that you're willing to spend on a starter guitar. But my usual advice is to go out and try every guitar you can get your hands on, within that price range. The bundle might not be the same. It may even be just for the guitar but that's what matters. You can get the accessories later. What you need is just the guitar, a new set of strings, quality guitar cable and a good practice amplifier. Have fun!

  • Hey so i watched your video and it sounded like an amazing guitar! my birthdays coming up and i was just making sure that that is a good beginner guitar and is easy to set up and get started right away... please reply if you have any other comments about this guitar that a beginner should know about...

  • @Mattb831 - Thanks for watching. IMO, it's a pretty decent and affordable starter guitar. These are mass produced so the only way to be sure it will sound and play right is by trying it out. Also try out different ones in the same price level. For setting up, I'm not sure what beginner level you're at. If you're at zero, you might want to take it to a music shop and watch them do it if they let you. At least ask them to teach you how to tune it. Replace the stock strings. I recommend Elixirs.

  • @mgjr73 Thanks for the reply... i'll go to my local music shop and see what they can do! thanks for the video!

  • Whats better? This or a Starcaster?

  • @shadowhunter388 - I remember trying out a Starcaster at a music store and it sounded like crap. IMO, both are in the same category... cheap starter guitars and you usually opt for these due to limited budget. So my advise, try out all of them and use your ears and get a good feel. In fact, try out different Starcasters at the store if they have several on display. Same with the Silvertone. I got lucky with my SS10... it's not a PRS but it does sound more than the price I paid for.

  • Hey, I talked to some GC guy by emai and he sent me some reply of equipment but I have no idea what it means. DO you? If you could, just send me a msg saying so cause I can't post it on here cause it's too long

  • thanks

  • The last question is am I missing anything? The Squier bullet w/ tromolo/Silvertone SS10 guitar (either one) fender frontman 25r, GHS Fast-Fret String Cleanernnd Live Wire Advantage Series 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable

10 Foot. Other than picks and a tuner. My budget is about 200-250$ range so if you guys have anything better just tell me please.

  • @timothyga01 if I had $200-$250 at the time I was shopping for a strat style guitar, I would've picked up the Squier because it had the Fender name backing it. But I got my SS10 for less than $50 brand new so there's no contest. Since this is your first electric, my advice is to go to a guitar store and ask the sales guy to show all the guitar brands and styles at your price range. Play with each one and pick the one that feels right. The guitar comes first... accessories are just a plus.

  • @timothyga01 Oh and for your question whether you're missing anything... the basics are the guitar, a good set of strings (I highly recommend Elixirs), a cable and your amp.

  • this guitar or the squier bullet strat? I've been playing acoustic for about 2-3years. I just need a electric soon and then I'm going to get a nice acoustic electric later for like $700-$1000 ish someone help! this is my first electric. and what kind of effects do I need?

  • @timothyga01 There are a lot of choices as far as effects are concerned. I own three effects pedals... an old DOD grunge, an old ZOOM 505 and a Korg AX10G. The latter two are multi-effects processors. I still find myself reaching for the 505 because it's smaller and I've had it longer so I'm more familiar with it. I used the 505 on this video. I recommend getting a multi-effects processor. There are several brands. Go out to the store and try them all out. Have fun.

  • I got this same guitar new recently and only had to tune it a bit out of the box ... the hum only occurs when the guitar volume is high and on certain modes , this can be cured w/ a humbucker.

For the $99.99 plus shipping, it's not a bad guitar (Can be compared to the Fender stratocaster)

  • @stupullen - yeah, i'm thinking of a future mod. putting a humbucker on the bridge position. in the meantime, you can get the same effect by just using positions 2 and 4 which utilizes two pickups. Thanks for viewing.

  • you didnt mod it thogh before you made this right

  • @yostar1998 - Nope. Video was done the night of the same day I got it. It's all out of the box, except for the strings.

  • holy crap!!!! i have that same guitar and it sounds nothing like that!! i don't have a very good camra though. but i just got a new effect pedal and sounds a hell of lot better. if i may add something, i would have to say this guitar is a good starter guitar, not to much money needs tweaking but is a good guitar for the money overall but you do get what you pay for.

  • @Scream4692 - hey thanks for viewing. Yeah, you do what you can do for the gear you have. I like to tinker with stuff and see what I can get out of it and decide later if it's really crap and not worth keeping. In the SS10's case, it has a lot of modding potential so I'll keep it. I already started messing with setting it up. I got rid of the buzzing and it even sounds a lot better now. Don't worry about your cam, post something and message me. I'd like to hear what you have.

  • @mgjr73 i reposted a cover of slipknots psychosocial if you want to check it out. i had posted other vidoes before but like i said my camra wasn't very good the i rememberd that my ipod shoots video so thats what i use now. but i have 9 other videos waiting to be uploaded, saved on my computer.

  • @mgjr73

dude i have the same stupid guitar which came with an amp..but the amp's buzzing sound is killing me ..can you help me bro?

  • @HeavyVerbzz-if you've ruled out that the guitar is not causing the buzz, for example, guitar is unplugged and no cable plugged in to the amp and you still hear the buzz, you may have some grounding issues. Maybe it's the amp power cable, maybe it's the transformer. Maybe it's none of both and your amp is picking up electrical interference from another source. Have you tried plugging in at another room? It's pretty much trial and error. If all else fails get another amp.

  • @mgjr73

thnxx man....but are you using the same amp that came with the guitar pack?

  • @HeavyVerbzz - No Prob! I did not buy the guitar pack. I bought the guitar on ebay from american music outlet... just the guitar. I used a Crate 15W practice amp for this video review.

  • @mgjr73

    alryt.....stay up bro

  • What song are you playing @ the end of this video?

  • @DeshonTx -It's the intro to the Yellow Ledbetter song by Pearl Jam. I figured it out by ear so it's not really an accurate rendition. Thanks for watching.

  • That sounds better than my friends les paul custom and a mic up to his marshall amp into a mixer and into mixcraft with effects! How did you get this type of sound?

  • @TheAirsoftcrazy - thanks for viewing. The setup was exactly as described above, if you expand the video description -- "... an old ZOOM 505 effects processor, through a Crate 15Watt practice amp with low volume setting, close mic'ed with a Behringer C3 condenser microphone hooked up to a Line 6 UX2..." The effect I used was the C2 preset on the zoom 505. Everything else was just plain input volume controls fed to Audacity on my laptop.

  • i hate this guitar it sounds like crap

i can't wait to get my b.c. rich guitar

  • @KsEngage292 Now listen your little comment you said on the electric Silver-stone SS10 guitar wasn't right. That B.C Rich guitar is stupid. How would you like it if I said that. Uh? BE nicer next time around.
