So what makes me laugh is that the tea parties today are a bunch of conservatives protesting against a liberal government that are taxing the rich to help out the poor, when the Boston Tea Party was a bunch of liberals protesting against a conservative government that is taxing the poor to give to the rich.

Assuming 60% of whites voted against Obama during the last election. They knew that McCain was the second worst ticket after Obama. 95% of blacks voted for Obama not knowing about him at all.

40% of whites voted for Obama. 5% of blacks voted for McCain.

We'll have to see how many AMERICANS agree with Obama and the Liberals, Socialists, and Progressives in the next election now that their intentions have come to light.

carefully and i saw :

No Asian american!

I saw all of the above. The government has gone too far. If you don't see it yet, you will. I didn't agree with Bush's financial policies either, but Obama has more than doubled the debt in a few months compared to what Bush did in 8 years. When Conservatives disagree with their leaders they don't vote for them - unlike Liberals.

@tjsmrc sorry, but I'm not sure where you got this "doubled the debt" That is so not right on so many levels. The debt when bush left was around 9.5 trillion, after one year with obama in office it is at around 11 trillion. Bush actually more than doubled the debt while he was in office, in fact he increased 75 percent. It was around 5.7 trillion when clinton left. So according to you our debt is now around 19 trillion since last year. Correct?

This is probably for two reasons IMO. 1.The tea parties were mainly pushed in right-wing, conservative outlets, which is mainly white. 2.The media wanted to push it as being motivated by there being a non-white president. But the true purpose of the tea parties were to protest the unsustainable debt being built by the government. This should be a concern to any American of any race, whether you're from the "right" or the "left."

1.) There have been no federal tax increases except cigarettes so that was a dumb statement.

2.) Income taxes will just go back to the way they were before the Bush tax cuts. 39% for people that make more than $288,000/year. If you made $112,000 in 2008 after taxes, you would be making $98,000 with the tax increase. Youre still rich. Suck it up.

We should cut taxes on the rich and corporations because they pay too much.

This shifts the tax burden to the middle class and poor.

To avoid that, we'll cut programs like Social Security and Medicare (that primarily benefit the middle class and poor).

There are plenty of cuts that can be made to other "programs". If all the Politicians and Government workers didn't have such high pay with gold plated pensions, we could start to balance the budget and cut taxes. When is it going to sink in? : Lower Taxes = Higher Revenues.
