"The Host" is the ONLY book by Stephanie Meyer (thus far) that I can pallet. I actually love "The Host" because it is a character driven Si-fi story with just the right amount of emotional drama that Meyer has become known for. With that said, I think that "The Host" would be better served as a Mini Series. So much goes on in the story and there is a lot of character development, so you can't afford to cut much. I don't think they can fit this story into 2.5 hours and have it stay true.
I have to say, The Host was MUCH better than Twilight. Twilight's Bella and Edward bothered the crap outta me. I only liked a few characters in the series and read it for them. With The Host, I feel like she gave more effort with developing the characters than in Twilight and the plot was more interesting as well. The Host actually got me to read it without occasionally blanking and going, "JUST END. I ONLY WANNA KNOW ABOUT SO AND SO, THAT'S *IT.*" I hope the movie is okay. :)

People loving vampires, lusting for this dark power. I will not read nor see the Twilight anything. People are so messed up. There is nothing Romantic about something biting into your flesh and sucking out your life force so they can keep on existing. Too much glamour is given to leeches, thats all they are. If you are a vampire you are dead, there is not enough perfume in the world or colgne to mask that stank.

Gattaca does a great job at treating humanity in a post-recent world, and the Truman Show treats the idea of our "reality" in a Platonic theory way, breaking free of a prison through inductive reasoning. I would like to see this producer get a good team together for this movie and polish the original idea and make it really shine in this new context. The Host takes a look at our idea of perfection in society--can it really be 'rigged' or does the true heroism lie in imperfection?
The Host is such an amazing book. If they screw this movie up like they did the Twilight Saga I'm gonna flip. It's a book that has a lot of depth to it and i find it to have been well thought out. Of course it's stephanie meyer (some people would agree her writing is very modern-simplistic) but her story for The Host is so amazing. I see a lot of creativity in this story. :)

muuuuust be a movie,,,,a good one movie,with dynamic characters ,something to reflect the meaning!!! not something emporic like twilight saga...because it's much different this one....its not a romance it's a story about living as a human being....
The characters are better developed and less mysterious than twilight(which makes the easier to connect with). If you haven't read the book: Wanda(wanderer) is a super innocent and sympathetic alien who learns how to be head strong like her host Melanie Stryder(Mel). I hope that the screen writer doesn't waste to much time on wanda's background on other planets because it's not really important to the story.
I read this before twilight and i liked it WAY better. The "aliens" act more like parasites in that they need human bodies to feel & communicate. People shouldn't get too carried away with the alien idea, the alien part of it is really low key. Wanda/Mel reads closer to someone with multiple personalities. If your wondering how the viewer is gonna be able to tell who is who, aliens have silver tint to their eyes.
Love the host book, not sure how it would be as a film though... surely it would be very difficult to get everything portrayed correctly, but I'm sure it will be a great (and spooky) film! =]

The Host is my favorite book! And I, being a huge fan of this book, personally think that Kirsten Stewart and Robert Pattinson should NOT play ANY of the characters. They should strictly be kept for Twilight! I really hope this movie doesn't get screwed up. THE BOOK IS AMAZING! I also saw GATTACA and it is my favorite sci-fi movie. Does anyone know if they're still casting for the voice of Wanderer/Wanda and how I could audition? I just know this movie could be one of the greatest of all time.

The Host is one of the few books which can make me cry, laugh and smile while reading. It made me realise what is actually to be a human.As far as I am concerned, it is a really good idea a film based on the book to be made.It will be interesting to me if all the emotions, the thaughts, the actions will be presented as well as they are in the book ... if the real message will be understand ..
I love The Host, but I think that make a movie about the book is not a good idea, there's so many things what people need to know about this aliens and the condition of the earth and the humans before they see the movie. This aliens don't come to invade with laser guns and threats about destroy the earth, they are not green with jelly-bodies or big heads and cat eyes.

great book! took me awhile to get through the first three or four chapters just cause it was a little confusing, but afterwards, i couldn't stop reading :D

It's a book that has a lot of depth to it and i find it to have been well thought out. Of course it's stephanie meyer (some people would agree her writing is very modern-simplistic) but her story for The Host is so amazing. I see a lot of creativity in this story. :)

The host has a really great story line, I don't compare it or look for similarities at all! It kind of reminds me of Christopher Pikes story writing, I'm really enjoying this book & its hard to put down!! I really don't like when some tries explaining a book when they haven't read it, it's annoying when they do & get the story line wrong!

i had hoped for it to be turned into a tv series instead. too many possibilities and opportunities for it to be just a movie. if it isn't a 2parter than be sure they'll be leaving alot out... as usual with book2movies. however like the twilight series i will go line up and pay to watch it. i am looking forward to watching it... can't seem to help myself

The characters are better developed and less mysterious than twilight(which makes the easier to connect with). If you haven't read the book: Wanda(wanderer) is a super innocent and sympathetic alien who learns how to be head strong like her host Melanie Stryder(Mel). I hope that the screen writer doesn't waste to much time on wanda's background on other planets because it's not really important to the story.

I read this before twilight and i liked it WAY better. The "aliens" act more like parasites in that they need human bodies to feel & communicate. People shouldn't get too carried away with the alien idea, the alien part of it is really low key. Wanda/Mel reads closer to someone with multiple personalities. If your wondering how the viewer is gonna be able to tell who is who, aliens have silver tint to their eyes.

The Host is my MOST FAVORITE book in the WHOLE world!
And I remember then I had first read it how much I would love to see it as a movie.
But seeing how they destroyed the twilight series.. I don’t think I would want them to make this into a movie. Unless they were willing to take there time and make it as true to the book as humanly possible!

the host is NOTHING like twilight what so ever. i read it and let's just say they're different story lines, no relations to the characters in any sense of the word and NO relations to the twilight plot of any kind. sorry to dissapppoint anyone who might have been hoping, but don't let that stop you from reading the book. it's much better than twilight and i gota say this is comming from a twilight fan. i have got to say that people who've hated twlight loved this book as well.

The Host is my favorite book! And I, being a huge fan of this book, personally think that Kirsten Stewart and Robert Pattinson should NOT play ANY of the characters. They should strictly be kept for Twilight! I really hope this movie doesn't get screwed up. I know it's not going to be exactly like the book but I hope it is extremely close, like to the point where only a true fan would notice the differences. I'm really looking forward to this movie.

The Host is one of the few books which can make me cry, laugh and smile while reading. It made me realise what is actually to be a human.As far as I am concerned, it is a really good idea a film based on the book to be made.It will be interesting to me if all the emotions, the thaughts, the actions will be presented as well as they are in the book ... if the real message will be understand ..

I love The Host, but I think that make a movie about the book is not a good idea, there's so many things what people need to know about this aliens and the condition of the earth and the humans before they see the movie. This aliens don't come to invade with laser guns and threats about destroy the earth, they are not green with jelly-bodies or big heads and cat eyes.
The Host must be known before the movie, or people will think they are watching the wrong movie.
