  • It was not for nothing that with their first album Please Please Me the world had pronounced them the greatest ever. Ask Me Why is just an example of the Beatles amazing talent. Nice upload one of my favourite songs. Was then and still is. Thank you for posting.

  • Emerystreet, no problem ^^

  • " Aïe aïe aïe." ♥

    Rest in peace, John.

  • Eww, it's in Stereo.

I'll never understand why they insist on re-mastering the albums in stereo; they were recorded on mono and were intended to be played on mono equipment. George Harrison himself even said that it just sounded "naked" playing it through stereo when it was recorded through mono.

  • ifhgsfj, it would be better if they had done a stereo remix.

  • @ifhgsfj They weren't recorded on mono. If they had been recorded on mono, they could never be mixed in stereo. Besides, there's always been a choice between Stereo and Mono. Both stereo and mono remasters are available.

  • HTprods, well, they were indeed recorded on a 2-track (at least the first two albums), with the intention to be mixed in mono, not stereo. But, stereo became more popular and it became the standard for listening music, but The Beatles stop making mono by 1969 for the last two albums (Let It Be, Abbey Road).

  • @HTprods when they recorded this stereo wasnt invented, it was all mono, but you an turn a mono track into stero easy, you literally just pan all the parts and thats whats been done here, basically.

  • AJT285, actually it was recorded on a two-track (one instrumental and other vocal), so it is true stereo, though it was not the intention, the two-track was to balance better the mix that would result in mono.

  • @AJT285 Stereo was invented when they recorded this track. This is most definitely in 2-track stereo. You can't isolate vocals from a mono recording.

  • John Lennon and Paul McCartney..perfect combination...

  • This song brings back so many memories for me....So cool!

  • Good example of the Beatles' versatility. Perhaps their greatest quality was the ability to produce unique songs of great variety. "Ask Me Why" is an acoustic/harmony gem where you can also feel the strength and confidence in John Lennon's lead vocal. The ability to create work like this AND hard rockers is one that the later, phony, one-dimensional "heavy metal bands (Grand Funk, Black Sabbath, Kiss, Aerosmith, ACDC, hair bands) never did except for a few syrupy, horrible attempts.

  • does any one no were to find the other version of this song that used to be up on youtube ??

  • xambi89, there a BBC version of it also, i can upload it if you want.

  • What dimwit gave this a thumbs down??!!
