  • Looking at that tank reminds me of mock ups in the 1987 Red Dawn movie.

  • I was hoping to get a look at what keeps the hatches shut. Someone told me that people have stopped tanks with knives before? Is this possible. First of all, since the earliest tanks, haven't they been bolted (a sliding bolt) from the inside, second, the people in them have guns, third they could fire the main weapon and the recoil would knock them off, fourth, spray them with bullets from a nearby tank/gun- so could people stop a tank with knives and crobars?

  • Вот этот беглый взгляд на 2:50, когда командир перепроверяет, что оператор не попадет под откат ствола мне знаком. Мужик. Контролирует всё на 100%!

  • Love the autoloader

  • i think its kind of funny how he looks at the camera while its reloading, like its his toy

  • god bless t-90ms

  • geriatric crew.

  • Oh, the crew compartment inside the turret is so cramped. I was a commander of T-72M1 in Finnish army. The tank was tall guy's nightmere. You also needed to watch the autoloader very carefully. You might get your arm broken if you don't pay attention. Also the autoloader is very sensitive and always made me nervous when we had live fire.

  • @Ulandus im 6'2'' and i sat inside a t-72 no problem the auto loader was no where near snatchng my arm....idk wtf your talking about

  • @shawnshawn426 I bet you can figure out that from this video. Kep your hands to yourself and you'll be fine.

  • @Ulandus well obviously, but its almost impossible unless your some kind of retard to physically put your arm in the way of the autoloader

  • @shawnshawn426 If you are a retard, obviously you wouldn't be in a tank crew right?

All I said is stay focused while autoloader is in action. it's loud, there's a lot of moving parts and only small sheet metal plates protecting the commander and the gunner. In this video one seam to be missing from gunner side. During combat excercise when the tank is moving and commander is busy doing his tasks, worrying the autoloader isn't doing the job any easier.

  • @Ulandus being inside at 50 km...i had no trouble and im 6 foot 2

  • @shawnshawn426 Good for you

  • Isnt this the T-72BA?

  • crazy russians i love em, probly pissed to the eyeballs to :)

  • Part 2.

Heck, the T-90 doesn't even have to fire to disable and turn the Abrams into a bucket of bolts. It can simply do that job by "turning off" it's computers. A better tank then the T-90, I think is the german Leopard. Modifying the Leopard a little bit, fitting an electromagnetic pulse system and an ATGM jamming system, could make it by far the supreme tank of the battlefield.

  • The Abrams costs too much, and it's very difficult to engineer. It has a gas turbine engine that consumes enormous quantities of fuel, so it needs to be fed a lot and often, meaning that no matter how good it is, it's like your fighting with one foot in a bucket when you bring it to war. My opinion is that it also has a bad design. It's a computer on tracks, and it has no chance if challenged by a russian T-90, which is EMP equipped an it's got an infrared ATGM jamming system.

  • @GoringSS lol to much History Channel, you're quoting directly from the show.

  • I honestly could not see a WW2 88mm gun knocking out the T72, unless it was either pretty close or a side shot....

  • comfy.

  • Smokey exhause: instant MOT fail.

  • 1.42 nice

  • even a Tiger can chew this thing up

  • @ADouBTor unlikly a 88mm gun can't shoot through a T72's hull

  • @ADouBTor

if a 105 cant pierce its armor what makes you think and 88 can

  • @ADouBTor haha funny moron, tiger 57 tons 88mm with 150mm penetration at 500m and 100mm armor at best. T72BA (in this video), 44 or around tons, 125mm with 800+ mm penetration (HEAT) at maximum computerisable range (like 3-4 km), and about 700mm KE resistance on front.

  • @ADouBTor matbe in fantasyland

  • The T "I'll cut your fucking arms off" 72.

  • inside a death trap

  • @SaintsSpecOps all tanks are death traps not just Russian ones

  • @yurik19881

    Tanks are the ultimate weapon

  • @SaintsSpecOps MMMMmmm...Why? Every tank is death trap.

  • @SaintsSpecOps Don't be so quick to judge by the tanks destroyed in the Gulf War and in the invasion of Iraq in 2003.Most of those were downgraded export versions manufactured in Iraq.Back in in the late 60s and 70s when they came out ,these machines were supposed to pop the US M60's and M48's like it's a walk in the park.Autoloader + 125 mm gun will cause some serious damage.Plus with some decent upgrades like ERA armour ,laser rangefinder and some decent electronics it will do it's job.

  • @ModestMachine731

i know they were T-72Ms. it would be like the M1 with 105 gun of the abrams series

  • That tank sounds like my lawn mower, I'll stick with the Abrams

  • @HealeyIRA5 and burn in it.

  • @HealeyIRA5 yup good old Abrams $15 IED turns it into a 70 ton crockpot

  • East shit

  • @seralia1 eat shit

  • @G0PST0P

    Not bad ;-)

  • Ahhhhhh the T72, the only tank that gives you the options of autoloading your arm into the cannon, or simply launching the entire turret into the air when you are hit by a shell. Perfect tank, If you want to die in a fiery hell. Or want the nickname stumpy.

  • @Rileyman2rr Not the only one.

  • @Rileyman2rr dont forget in the 70s t 72 eith good trained crew fuck m60

  • Russian Military Equipment is so fucking Awesome!!

  • This tank made in 70 years.

    T72-Leopard1 - Win T72

    T72-Chieftain - Win T72

    T72-M60 - Win T72

  • Obviously the fume extractor is not working good enough. In combat when the hatches are closed the tank will be filled by smoke after 3 rounds and the crew will choke. Badly maintained equipment is typical of post soviet countries

  • @LokiG36 well obviously the tanks were in poor condition when fighting in chechnya incase you forgoten at that time they had hardly the millitairy equepment becuse the ussr just broke up and well as you can see its old and poorly taken care of 0_o

  • i wonder which army this tanks belongs to, the guy firing the guns looks to scruffy to be a soldier.

  • @luuko656 look up conscripts..

  • West Germany's tank is better.Inside and out.

  • @ilovedogs4780 It's called Leopard 2A6 and btw we are united since 21 years

  • @doenerbudenking I know whats its called, I work with them and "btw" in Canada we call it the Leopard C2 Main battle tank

  • @ilovedogs4780 dude what do you expect this tank was made in the 70's

  • @meee2014 I dont expect anything, im just saying

  • @meee2014 T-72B of this video based on the model of 1985, updated rountinely this is exactely a T72b ob1991 with Kontakt5 ERA, new canon, strong composite armour and improved FCS, radios, drivetrain, engine... It's 3x better than a standard T72 and have armour resistance equal to leopard 2A4 or early M1 abrams.

  • @AndrewPowergo i didnt say anything about abrams the abrams is a good tant exept 1 thing the tank commander is the weapon the tank is a tool. besides i would say all tank are becoming redundant with all the new AT weapons out these days. thats why abrams are getting trashed by untrained militants with 1960's RPG's

  • @flossy26 I've yet to hear of an RPG destroying an Abrams except by a fluke. They said the tank was dead in the 1930s, until the heavy tanks like the Panther & IS proved they'd work. 1960s, but the chieftain prevailed. They said it was dead in the 1980s, but then chobham and other composites proved otherwise. They said it was dead in the mid 90s, until the M1A2 and Chal2 proved extremely effective at resisting massive HEAT rounds.

Historically, "armored box on tracks" has been a sound idea.

  • @redreaper2020 urm i heard that i iraq a challenger2's FRONTALL ARMOUR! got peirced by a rpg 29 o_o

  • @789joshi And took the leg off the driver .

  • @Viciouscritique as a tank built in 1972 i would expect it to be outdated its now 2011. dont worry champy youl get a girlfriend one day okay.

  • @flossy26 abrams was built in 1980 and it's outdated too?

  • @AndrewPowergo and this video from 1996

  • Yes very outdated and inferior .........just typical for the russian weapons .

They are cheap , simple piece of shits.

  • @ViciousCritique - An other internet debiloid. xaxa... Can you offer any certifications for your remarks?

  • Hmmm very outdated

  • yup, cramped.

  • I'm not angry, I just found your comment hilarious. The Tiger would struggle to kill a T72....I mean really struggle. The 88 on todays battlefield would be useless as an anti tank weapon, the T55s 100mm Is bas enough and it has a higher performance. Truth of it it, that tanks today are in a totally different league to World War 2. The 88 was only up against the likes of Shermans and Cromwells with around 65-80mm of frontal armour, the T72S has 520mm on its turret front. It can kill a KT at 2400

  • Not much place inside. As a T-72 Crewmember you have to be tiny :-)

  • @patrikasLTL

I agree. The old T-55 matched Tiger I in armor protection, and had it beat in mobilty and firepower, so...

  • @patrikasLTL +1000 :)

  • i think even a german ww2 tiger tank would tear the t72 apart

  • @DuckingNDiving Then you are, indeed, stupid.

  • @DuckingNDiving If you believe that the german tiger could so much as hold a candle to the T72, then you are a fucking idiot. Power, mobility, armoured protection, firepower and technology are all on the T72s side. The T72 has to be one of the most underrated tanks the world has ever seen. You look at a shitty build arab version without gun stabilisation, night vision and a crew that are about as competent as chimp and assume the Russian tank is shit? It was better than NATO tanks of the 70s

  • @DuckingNDiving And that really is the key thing people forget, the T72 was designed in the 60s, could it take on the M41, M47, M60, Chieftain etc? yes it could, indeed in the Iran Iraq war in the 80s, many chieftains (British tanks that were the heaviest armoured and with the largest Armament) were totally destroyed by the power of the 125. Look at the Modern T72s like the T72M2 and you'll see that it is fucking lethal and if it should engage a NATO tank, it would likely achieve a kill.

  • @WickyWiggstaz no need to get angry dude, granted you know your tanks, but a tiger would still blow the bejesus out of t72 if it was in an ambush scenario, overall the t72 out performs the tiger, but no tank can be the most superior at all times in the fog of war,the german 88 main armament would still be a powerful gun on todays battlefield

  • @DuckingNDiving Also consider armour type, no longer are tanks simply rolled steel, they have stronger composite armour. So all in all, put a Tiger on todays battlefield and it would last minutes. it is tall, slow, has a poor performance by today's standards, its radar sig is massive, it's heat sig is also large as they weren't thinking of stuff like that back in 1942, it armour would be defeated by anything that hit it (MBT, AH or ATI attack) and it's gun wouldn't defeat armour

  • @DuckingNDiving To be honest I don't blame you though, you may not have the level of interest in tanks and the little facts and figures like me or people like me, and the Tiger had such a large effect on inferior allied armour in world war 2 that it is immortalised to this day. It's tale of near invincibility and gun power is talked about so much that people struggle to see how it could fall flat on it's face in today's wars. On the flip side, people underate the T72 so I understand your comment

  • @WickyWiggstaz Hey thanks for the feedback about tanks, you must be an enthuaist or have military experience,i guess my comment about the tiger does sound retarded now,its like comparing a WW2 spitfire to a Russian 1970s Mig fighter jet,no comparasion really, its best i don't make any more assumptions on things i don't know,i guess i was playing WOT(world of tanks) a little bit too much lately LOL

  • @DuckingNDiving

Another data pulled out of famous source called ASS...

  • @GvardiyaBY i bet i could burn you out of your tank with a molotov cocktail then i would beat your ass and see how much data comes out

  • @IRISHINFIDEL

Wow, another pathetic internet Rambo... how many of you are there, I wander?

  • @DuckingNDiving

Son, this is armour and firepower comparation.

    Tiger: max armour thickness 120mm

T-72B obr. 1989: max armour thickness 1050 mm

Tiger's 88mm Gr. 39 HL projectile have max penetration of 90 mm on range of 2000m

T-72B's 125mm 3VBM19 projectile have max penetration of 650 mm on range of 2000m

Those 2 tanks are completly different generation, so don't compare them, because old tanks will always lose.

Just avoid posting stupid comments like that.

  • @GvardiyaBY 1050 mm of armor? Somehow I doubt the T-72 has over a meter of armor in any one spot.

  • @grospoisson

    It is called RHA equivalent.

For example, T-72A had 260mm thick front armor plate, what gives 550mm RHA under slope.

Same is in this case. 1050mm is max thickness on turret covered with Kontakt-5, against HEAT projectiles.

Make difference between T-72 versions, because max protection level is rather different on different models.

And no need to doubt, this data was even confirmed by Steven Zaloga.

  • @GvardiyaBY That makes sense. I was confused since you didn't specify RHA equivalent; probably helpful in the future to note that when comparing older non-sloped, non-ERA, etc. type armor to modern stuff.

  • @grospoisson - Can you not realize how sloping armour, so as composite materials create thickness in equivalency to certain number of steel armour. So when he say 1,050mm it means equal to steel. Not actually 1 meters of meterial. xaxa.

  • @bittemeinrammstein Yeah, Gvardiya explained what he meant.
