This is the BEST scene in this movie.... the asst principal reminds me of my Teacher Education professor (although my professor is a sweetheart). I just love how she shakes her finger in his face and says "That is NOT a valid excuse". I use that line whenever I can
@GeraldB526 Really? Damn.. so what? No one noticed it either? Or is it no big deal? Because if you watch austin powers its almost the exact same bit... The whole "moley moley moley" scene.
btw nice TV!! I saw Uncle Buck over the christmas on television in the UK, it's still amazing abotu 20 years on, and the Buck stops here with this scene jajaja. The Uncle Buck vs. Mcaulay Culkin (interrogating his uncle) is one of the best dialogues in the 80s/90s.
john hughs was a genius, its too bad there arent great speeches like this anymore, schools are basically factories and now they're becoming like prisons, kids should just be kids and play so they can develop the right side of their brain, schools are designed to keep them trapped in the left brain, which results in mindless drones and consumers, slaves to the corporate world, if the system could get away with it they would just stamp a number on your forehead cuz thats all we are to them
i saw parts of that on vh1 classic recently, i have a friend who really likes it.. and pink floyd, i actually got her the documentary on Woodstock for xmas, its called 3 days of peace and music, you might like that if you havent seen it, very high class documentary
buck melanoma, moley russell's wort.....not her wort, i'm the wort, she's my tumour, my growth, my pimple, i'm uncle wort, just old buck wort russell that's what they call me, or melanoma head, they call me that, melanoma head is coming
They sure nailed that vice principal down!! lol,, it's teachers like that, that made me hate school!!! ALso, interesting note. I've seen this movie a dozen times, but i have never seen the intercut scene of Maisy in the classroom when the teacher calls her a blasphemer. Where did that come from?
@Stigmatainmypants You see the kid sitting in the office smiling when Buck says "There all good kids, it's cause of dried up brain dead scags like you" the look on the principal's face is priceless.
They have these really neat things now...they're called tripods. You attach them to the bottom of your camera and it allows you to not shake the fucking camera during the whole video...
you know what i love about the internet most? You have options and freedom of choice. For example, if you don't like a video, you dont' have to watch it. Cool eh?
The video is made and done. Complaining about it now isn't gonna change anything but if it makes you feel better, then by all means! ;)
I don't buy that. How's one to know whether he likes a video or not unless he watches the video in its entirety? After watching a video, one is free to express his opinion. If he doesn't like it, he's free to say so just as equally as he is free to say he likes it. How he expresses his opinion is another matter.
In any regard, this is one of the funniest scences from the film. Uncle Buck rules. RIP John Candy.
seriously people why is everything turned into a argument i think people just like to duke it out on the internet for no reason other than it makes you feel cool. Lose the trivualities and just watch the stupid video...i mean come on this is not a debate on abortion..or Obama..its a movie dont bring in drama where there needs to be none K!!!
@BigRedEraser in all fairness, this is a good quality of sound and image for filming a screen, but a tripod positioned perfectly would make this video really nice! you should try to reshoot this scene. :)
or maybe i could just buy the damn movie.........
whats that song called at then end of the video at 3:28 cause i reallly wanna know what its called if anyone knows what that song is called please tell me asap!!!!!
"I don't have a college degree.........I don't even have a job.........But i know a good kid when I see one........because they all are good kids........until dried out brain dead scaggs like you." Hahaha very funny.
look at the girl who's sitting next to Maisy in the classroom scene from 2:17 to 2:20, it's Anna Chlumsky who played Vada Sultenfuss and was Macaulay Culkin's co star in the movie My Girl.
The kid laughing is spot-on, he nailed the scene. Its as though they got the kid laughing at something unrelated and then played the footage to fit with the dialogue of Uncle Buck giving it to the old lady.
Haha, yeah but they don't show what characters like that would really do after that mess. 1.) Pick the kid up from class 2.) Go get some all american greasy cheeseburgers washed down with an cold soft drink sure to rot your teeth. 3.) Go back to work and whisper boo to any uptight bitches that look down their noses at anything not marginally popular at that specific moment. 4.) Give the kid money for the arcade. 5) Later hi-5 the local bartenders and rowdy barflies after story time.
"I have been an educator for 31 *point* 3 years" and *wink* "Good day to you, madam." Wonderful! Wouldn't life be so much better if we all had an Uncle Buck in our corner?
I am looking for music which plays before this scene, when Buck arrives and smokes in the main hall. Can you help me with the name of the song or artist?
Teacher: Why was your uncle microwaving your socks?
Maisy: He couldn't get the ____ washing machine to work.
Teacher: Blasphemer!!!
