  • Agaria is Ochu for future games :P

  • Maybe those are birds, but you're so 'stoned' you cant tell? #FFjokesFTW

  • ok, so how the hell are inns instantly spawned and people are still alive...

  • Not mistranslated. In the DS remake, the are also called Cockatrices. Basilisks only put you to sleep. Don't ask me why, it's just like this.

  • How come when you purchased everything you needed, you ended up with MORE Gil than you had before? Not to sound like a douche, but something seems a bit fishy...I mean, why did you have to edit out simple purchases...?

  • i didnt get a karateka class ):

  • love all the monty python clips

  • Man, I should re-watch Monty Python's Holy Grail. I might actually get all the jokes since I'm older since I last saw it. Probably been 5 or 6 years.

  • mmmm ya, old men being the legendary heroes, thats gotta be ridiculous, we all know 6 year olds make much better heroes

  • "Aieee!" is a horrible battle cry.

  • I think I know what happened to Luneth when he got slammed with that Ice Spell. You left the Ice Helmet on him which gives him protection from Fire, but weakens him to Ice. Likewise if you were only wearing the Flamemail you would be resistant to Ice, but weak to Fire.

  • cockatrice and basilisk are basicallly the same creature except the cockatrice is supposed to be more bird-like where a basilisk is more snake-like

  • best looking cockatrice i ever seen

  • How was he planning to kill all four light warriors with one arrow?

  • AND KICK SOME......................BUTT!

  • I like the remixed version of the boss theme in the DS version. the one that only plays in the final battle. It has a nice twisted feel to it

  • Karateka basicly means Karate user, or Karate practitioner, for those who are wondering.

  • HCBailly whats the name of the clip at 7:52?

  • and whenever somebody dies the game is stingy and doesn't allow you to use a fenix down or bring them to a revival place

  • @alexlandsbergs Monty Python.

  • Cocktrices!!

  • y didn't they just use phoenix down on her?

the heroes of light are always jerks

  • When that cursed arrow was flying it was moving so slowly it reminded me of the scene in Austin Powers when the guy is about to get run over by the steamroller and they keep telling him to get out of the way. LOL

  • The Viking also develops slower than other physical-oriented job classes. That's why I don't use it, especially in my DS version.

  • I personally like the boss music of this game. It has a nice tempo to it and doesn't get annoying.

Boss music should be fast paced to put emphasis on the danger and struggle of the fight.

  • dude this game has the funkiest boss music ever

    except earthbound

  • It's just you. In the DS version, the boss battle remix is more dramatic and scary.

  • I see they got your favorite enemy in the final fantasy series messed up. My condolences

  • your right HC,there not cockatrices,their....cocktrices!!

  • Not in this version. The four kids a boys. Refia was made into a girl for the DS remake.

  • emm, Refia didn't exist in this version. The names were given in the DS remake, and white mages are always girls, if you have noticed.

  • The characters are boys here, as confirmed by their foster mother at the beginning of the game.

Also, you are wrong about all white mages being girls.

    1. White Mage/Whte Wizard from FF1 is a male in Amano's production sketches.

    2. Firion from FF2 has the best starting stats for White Magic.

    3. Minwu/Minh from the FF2 is a male and white wizard.

Note when I said Refia in my last post I was referring specifically to the 3rd warrior of light, the character HCBaily named after the girl from FFDS.

  • I dunno, in the NES games I'd say it's debatable whether they're girls or boys, look pretty androgynous to me. And for what it's worth, Minh in FF2 is a guy.

  • ah whatever......

Refia is a girl's name, that's why I stated it, but whatever.

  • @moveunderground It's not just the NES. The FF characters in the PS2/PS3 games are pretty androgynous as well.

  • it will be in later version

  • lol

    "and kick some......butt!

  • Behold the early version of the Cocktrice! XD

Kraken is such a rehash in this game, he was better in the first FF

  • The early version would be FF1.

  • he's weak to thunder

  • no he's not!

  • THOSE ARE NOT COCKITRICES! There are Basitrices.

  • *Basilisks + Cockatrices = Cockalisks!

  • Cockalisk lol

Please, let's not give Square any new ideas. lol

  • Lol at Cockalisks

  • The DS version shares the same fate. Cockatrice is still a huge lizard.

  • And hell it is hard in groups D:

  • Of course you have to go through the sewers. this IS an RPG.

  • Oh, Monty Python... soo many good quotes for soo many situations

  • Comment removed

  • So that's how the movie waterworld ends...

  • lol HCBaily gets stoned from the basilisk/cockatrices XD

  • Cockatrices are the same in the DS version...a lizard...I remember questioning it too...I mean, really, WTF is going on with that...they're birds damn it...

  • A Cockatrice that isn't a bird... RIGHT.

  • LOL Luneth got owned... and yes you're FFIII LP is keeping me up at 3a.m.

  • COCKATRICES!?! THEYRE NOT EVEN BIRDS!

For some reason that line cracked me up

  • LOL, COCKATRICES... DUN DUN DUNNN!!!

  • The translation error for Cockatrice is also in the DS version.

  • i don't get how you can cure your party members and revive them back to life, but other characters like Elia die. It's not fair! It happened to Aerith too and she was a main character

  • well from what i have been told. when your chracters die in battle they are more knocked out.. phionex downs do not cure death.

  • in the older games they die....newer games they just changed death to "knocked out"

  • Elia...

    :(

  • I love the dragoon job class for some reason.

  • DRAGOONS FTW!!!!

  • yeah, i used cockatrices and basilisks in my fanfiction;they look nothing alike.

  • Guess the translator was thinkin' about cock at the time.

  • Best combot for me;royal sword from hein castle blood sword from wrecked ship

  • Kick some... butt!

    Classic.

  • i love thet seen on the DS verson

    ^-^

  • scene

  • yeah thet thenks

  • No! You didn't use the piano in the bar! Bad! In the DS version, you get one helluva dance from the patrons...XD

  • It happens in the Nes version too.

  • Karateka is pretty much Master...

  • Oh wow, what the hell did they do to the cockatrices lol.

  • hey guys, is the ds version get different class at the water crystal because i didn't get the karataka but i got the evoker, also is the karateka the black belt in ds version?

  • i believe you get the black belt(karateka) at the last crystal, but it's useless then (who would take a black belt over a frickin ninja!)

  • WAAY too true! NINJA!!!!

  • No dude black belt and monk are one in the same.

  • kraken is a bitch at those levels sometimes

  • If you play the piano in the inn, every boogies! In the DS version, anyway.

  • i am stuck on this boss on ds version

  • in the ds version they didnt explain that your party would die when you went in the swamp, so mine did and i didnt save for awhile. :(

  • Kraken Koed my knight with blizzara also. hes way too overpowered

  • true. i died fighting he guy(good thing i saved before going in there). all he uses is blizzara and then he hits a person. my monk died first, then my knight died, then my black mage died. later my white mage died. i wonder how FF4ds is, they raised the AI in FF4ds.

  • ff4ds is much harder! i have to grind for levels sooooooooooooooooo often and for a very long time!

  • i got pwned by a group of 4 of those mini-sized guys that torch you with fire in the Underground Channel...Cecil @ Lv13, Rydia @ Lv10...

  • Apologies...this comment was meant for the FFIV DS reference below...

  • When I played the game, this's where my translation patch had ended.. just about the end of the upcoming dungeon, just about.

  • after watching this let's play for a while i have come to relize that the DS remake is more difficult, which is VERY strange

  • There's one thing i don't understand why didn't you just mute Kraken in the first place?

  • I would imagine that bosses are either immune to all status ailments or have very high magic defense. Mute has been fairly unimpressive so far.

  • Well then at least it's still probably good against those mini bosses and tankish enemies that like to constantly use special attacks to annoy you with status effects.

  • @HCBailly That wasn't a mistranslation in the cockatrice part. There like that in the DS version too!! :O

  • @HCBailly In Myth, cockatrices are actually dragons with rooster heads but i see your point...

  • @MRcoolGUY886 Actually, they're rather similar to basilisks in mythology, only they have the power of flight. Actually, this is the most accurate appearance yet.

  • what ever her name just died in my DS remake of FFIII at 2:50 PM

  • In my translated ROM, the Karateka name is Master, not Karateka! What is the ROM name you use?

  • Was...was that an AFRICAN SWALLOW!?

  • I'd love if you'd put the name of the clips from the movies you use, if it isn't too much of a trouble ^^.

  • you should've played the piano.

  • They all play the same song as I showed the first time, unlike FF5.

  • in the ds version it plays a different song. but how was i supposed to know. oh well.

  • woah that was sum good NES detail when the land rose up

  • damn, I wish I could get the Karateka at the water crystal in the DS version. I mean monks and karateka have abusive attack power lol! love 'em

  • Oh god, the Geomancer...

One of my favorite classes in the game, their ability is amazing, can do tons of damage, and costs no MP. I love it!

  • I know - on the DS version, my Geomancer pulled out Shadowflare against Hein on turn 2. That was an easy battle.

  • I need to start playing FF III DS, but FFTA2 is so fun and will probably tide me over til FFIVDS comes out :(.

  • lmao monty python reference

  • At the end of waterworld they find mount everest

  • I thought Elia lived longer than that.

Ah well, DAMN YOU KRAKEN!!!! (Elia was my favorite of the temp party member *Cries*)

    Does she dies in FF3DS?

  • Don't you just hate it when good Npc's die? I mean she was hot!

  • only in the DS version...

  • im sure the is either version she cute!

  • She was alright, Orchid from Killer Instinct was the hottest character of all time. :)

  • How in the hell my question about Elia's death become a topic on her cuteness?

Seriously, I think they did a cop-out on her death. She literally just recovered from a sickness ONLY to have her killed. That what make me so sadden about her death. She had protentional for a good character development.

  • tee hee!

  • yea, she does..Her death is more dramatic in that version IMO.

  • I didn't realize this comment was a response to yours, I responded to Valis' comment. Sorry for the hijacking.

  • Yes. After you get the jobs, the DS remake has to follow the plot of the original exactly.

Oh, and her death is slightly more dramatic in the DS remake.

  • Slightly is just the word

  • This is TheBillychu who's started commenting on almost all of your LPs now (I wanted a more interesting username). Just telling you to keep up the good work.

You and DeceasedCrab should start a LP website or something, it'd be cool to have a whole resource of these videos. Especially because I'd love to see a Chrono Trigger one and no one on Youtube has ever finished one.

  • Agreed

  • There is somewhat of a site at letsplayforum -dot- com

  • No, the Cockatrices were translated correctly. In FFIII they're lizards, not birds.

  • lol at "gonna kick some ........butt!"

  • (DS) The fork, that you don't take on the beginning of video, leads to chest with Blizzaga (Ice3). is good to take it, since on DS it can't be purchased at Gysahl. Also, the Kraken is weak to thunder element. And Karateka (or whatever he will be called on DS) is not received from Water Crystal. I felt, that I could mention it.

BTW what happened to LPFFA , you quit it, or took a break??

  • I actually had work the past couple days. Originally, I only intended to work on it a few days per week, but at the time, I didn't have any work. Now I do, but I'll probably work on it today.

  • Just in case your still wondering the Karateka is basically the Black Belt class for the DS and you get that at the fourth crystal

  • Nah, boss music is fine for me.

One of the most awesome boss musics you can hear for NES.

  • I found the boss music quite sinister actually. It's one of my favourites.

  • OOOPS!!

  • Loved the Holy Grail clip.

  • You must be nearly finished, because the only crystal left is the air one.

  • no the earth crystal is. the air was first.

  • this vid deserves 1 million lykke all his vids

  • the first time a party member died was in ff1. you made bloopers video
