  • This video just makes me smile man :)

  • Is that the old Johan Models Building?

  • @pepperkitty I wouldn't know, they aren't there any longer. It was Cindy Street in Ocean, NJ, across from the Jaguar service center and next to a cabinet store.

  • WOW, Man that sounds BAD ASS!!!! Beautiful!!

  • It's beautiful. Beautiful.

  • My dad got one recently for 1000 the body complete

  • i always thought these cars were long like the chevy impalas when i was younger til i saw one in person. these cars are small

  • @AvenueD417 Yeah, funny how the nose and trunk make em look big - the back seat has very little leg room and with the stock steering wheel, my knee hits it every time I shift...

  • @tommynights you guys did an excellent job on this car though, these things are icons of the 50's. i like how it was kept with the sleeper look. stock appearance with dangerous power. thumbs up

  • Out of curiosity, what does it cost (I know this is a broad target) to restore a Bel Air? I would love to buy one and have it professionally fixed up..

  • @nldekker For a car in decent shape, expect to pay 30-40 grand. A show car is about 70-100 grand. Mine is about in the middle of the two. If you get a rusto-rod and do it yourself, expect to pay a lot in unexpected repairs.

  • @tommynights Money well spent. What a beautiful car- you guys did a great job!

  • @nldekker o be honest with you man if you cant fix cars take your money go learn how to because the price of that n the cost to restore one your self will be less then to get one professionaly restored n i mean ALOT less

  • SO fuckin jealous :(

  • Dogleg with so much horsepower? Put posi in that thing

  • @GabrieleSM Got one now, Moser 9" with 3.70s and TrueTrac.

  • bla bl bla bla bla bla bla bla bla ,,then broom brrooom where did he go? cool

  • what size cam does the car have and what brand ?

  • I`ve always wanted a 57 belair since i was 5 right when i saw one now im twelve my mom says shit in one hand and want in the other see witch one gets ful first

  • @wuzup1023 My mom said "save your money" and I did for 25 years, finally got it! You can do anything you set your mind to, sometimes it just takes a long time, but it is so worth it in the end. Good luck!

  • i like my 1955 chevy bel air better :)

  • @BigDog2545 Let's see it, maybe I'll agree - but so far - no vids from you.

  • @BigDog2545 everyone has their own preferences, but all the Tri 5's are equally beautiful cars

  • @garinhash the car is still amazing..but i guess your right its just a preference

  • NICE, I got a 57 Chevy project car a few years ago. Once I get the time to restore it, it should hopefully look like this :D

  • Sheeeeet thats a goddamenned car dude...!!!

  • holy shiny engine batman

  • @lslb2010 Thanks, and no chrome - all powdercoated/ endurashine or ceramic so it won't rust and is easy to keep clean!

  • @tommynights it looks nice it was blinding on the video a friend of mine has one of these, 4 door though but he used to race it until he wrecked it. had a 454 blown it was an awesome car. thats about all i know about it. he wrecked it and than took it apart so.

  • Such a sexy car...

  • I've dreamed of having that car with those colors since I was 8. I am now 13.

  • @101superGLEEK Start saving now, a little out of everything you earn; that's how I did it. I had the same dream when I was your age and was 37years old when I finally got one. Good luck!

  • This shall be my car one day!!

  • Sleeeeeper, looks great man!

  • very nice car and power train but im very surprise thay didnt put a posi rear? in that bad boy thats the best of both worlds right there

  • @grizzleybearz282004 Thanks, now has a true-trac Moser Ford 9" with 3.70s.

  • Not my kind of car, but my grandfather owned one. I promised myself that after medical school I would buy one for my dad, candy apple red, just like the one from his childhood.

  • nice car, my grandfather has the second generation 1955 model

  • In Italy a start like this ( 4:50 ) would cost 1000$ in petrol!!!!!

  • hahhaha i laffed so hard at the dodge ram van that went by with its back doors open XD

  • this is one of my dream cars

  • Dam thats my Dream Car:D

  • like the car but like 55's and 56's better

  • pity getting stuck in a traffic jam with this

  • one wheel wonder

  • gay one legger whats the timing set at ? sounds like it's chokin to death when you rev it

  • @MrGjstone It's called a little thing called a rev limiter, which was set at 6k. And it now has true trac 9" Moser.

  • @MrGjstone u jus selous bitch cuz u dont got one and it sounds badass 2 everyone else fucker

  • doubt it will ever be driven more than one second a year. they are supposed to be driven not stuck in a garage.

  • @RoninAvenger -driven weekly, sometimes hundreds of miles to shows, your profile lists your occupation as wizard??? I'm betting my 57 sees more daylight than you mr. dungeonmaster.

  • id give one of my nuts for this car..

  • OH MY GOD.

  • how much to own?

  • Fuck yeah!!!!

  • sir this vid is 5outa5 + fav,.

  • 8 people are Japanese car companies

  • needs a locker

  • I dream of one of those, Black with a Red soft top..... One day...

  • What kind of mufflers are on that thing?

  • @but199018 single chamber flowmasters

  • This is one of the best cams I ever heard ..Definetely sounds like Horses Galloping dow nthe street!!! Can you tell me what Brand Cam and the specs?? Want to set up my 454 to sound the same way!!! Greatly Appreciated!!!!

  • @jingelsby It's a comp cam, custom grind with altered rocker ratio - about .570 lift - I would step it down a little for streetability and go with a mother thumper. Right now I idle around 1000, not great for cruising/mileage, but it does really wake up at 2500 and run strong to the 6500 rev limiter.

  • Loving the white walls

  • this is one mean 57 chevy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Who would take a classic like that and rip out the original drive train, which

ran really well? Only thing that's there is a 57 Chevy body.

Is this going to be run on a drag strip or race track, because you can't

drive 150 mph on the highways without ending up under the jail.

I had a 57 Chevy BelAir 2dr hdtp, jade green with the 283 4bbl power pack.

It would scratch off nicely and still got 25mpg on the highway. If you drive

one of those stock you will like it better. Its a REAL CAR.

  • @4freespeech Orig motor was totally shot from some backyard mechanic who thought he knew how to rebuild it, and they (283) were notorious leakers anyway. It runs plenty fine with the 4speed muncie and 3.70 rear, although it does like fuel, but I wasn't looking for a daily driver. As for keeping orig, the suspension and brakes HAD to be replaced with modern stuff - without which the car was a death trap, I respect your opinion, but I had to go with my dream of an old school rod.

  • @4freespeech you know its sad seeing this shit done to the cars like that my grandfather had a 57 2dr hardtop baby blue that was a beast he could tape a 100 dollar bill to the dash and floor it your couldn't grab the money it was crankin over 600 hp he had a 327 delivered and right off the bad tore it down polished bored and stroked out to 377 micky tompson pistons everything on roller bearings it was HOT

  • @4freespeech it just shows your a pussy and that your too scared of power. either that or your a jew. if i had that car. i wouldnt give a shit filling up petrol. it'd be worth it. the dollar in australia is like $1.40 a litre. so that'd probs be over 100 dollars a tank and id probably still spend it if i had that bel air.

  • the only thing wrong with that car.! is it's not mine......!!

  • a beast in a beauty suit..

  • perfect !!!

  • Chevy-Plymouth? I noticed the large V.

  • sounds good, looks good, runs good.....awesome car

  • machine!!! xxxxxx

  • mi\y grandpas is all original mid condition and never got restored the only thing changed was the convertibal hood he got one off a old bug.good car tho

  • so you dont have pozi? lol

  • @jaywolflover This was step one - soon after added Moser rear with 3.70 gears and Detroit True-trac

  • @tommynights sweet

  • does this car have vacuum wipers

  • @sandrochatlos1 No, wipers are cable driven, but really don't cut it; I'll probably change to a direct arm driven unit. Cam is too extreme to run vacuum driven or assisted items without a pump.

  • This car sounds beast. Nice cam selection

  • Chevrolet makes most of the best looking Americans cars ever.

  • that looks like my dad b ut hes is 4 door same color

  • what cam is it running?

  • @Bishn0zle Comp cam, with the rocker ratio I'm using, about .570 lift. In hindsight, I'd go a bit less - idle is around 900-1000.

  • @tommynights sounds amazing mate. im looking to put a chevy 350 in my kingswood. they are a variant car of the gto/monaro.

  • @tommynights when you cam the chevy 350 what other mods do you have to do to the engine besides the normal things you do when you cam a motor such as valve springs, pushrods, rockers etc etc

  • @Bishn0zle Not sure what you are asking, but I went with worked 64cc Dart pro1 alum. heads w/ 200cc intake runners to flow more, 2.02/1.60 valves, rollers, Scat crank, balanced everything, decked, align honed, Speed pro pistons, hastings rings, Eagle I beam rods, screw-in studs/guide plates, chromemoly push rods, ARP bolts, MSD 6AL with rev limiter, hi-perf oil pump and water pump, crossflow radiator, etc...

  • My dream car 1 day I will have one......

  • @binky24071 I said the same thing for 30 yrs. Kept putting a few bucks in an envelope til one day, money and timing were right. Good luck!

  • its so nice to see classics come back to life. :)

  • hahaha RAD EE ATER

  • I want that car!

  • I made a red '57 Chevy Bel Air model!

  • I don t believe it , 6 don t like it ... They re fool or what ?

  • My neighbor is puttin' an engine in his today!

  • What happened to the original 283??

This kills the originality and heart of the car.

  • @Buick61 the chev 350 suits it soo well. listen to it. dont you just feel like jizzing in your pants just listening to it?

  • @Bishn0zle It sounds great, no question. But it ruins the car.

  • @Buick61 hhaha no waaaaay it makes it look sexier. your one of those, "keep everything classic" ay ;)

  • @arboldin yup, no cars today have character. just 60 years ago there were basically no imports on our streets. Now everywhere I turn I see the retarded Honda "H" or that hideous freakish Toyota T thing they call an emblem. Take a look at a car from the Jet-age, they scream uniqueness and style. Nothing on them was boring, bigger was better.

  • '57 is still the definition of Rock n Roll on wheels. They'll be pictures of these cars in grade school text books 200 years from now...if they still have books then.

  • you had me at dual carb setup

  • im workin on my high school car its a 1969 camaro we just got it painted

  • my dad and i are workin on a 57 its commin out great i cant wait til its fully restored ive been workin on it since i was 7 now im 14 were gona get it runnin soon

  • @theDead64 love to see it when it's done - my dad still helps me and gives advice on my car builds. He started teaching me at about the same age as you. I'm 41 now and building a 32 Ford 5 window, hope my 3 y.o. girl will grow to enjoy cars as much as we do!

  • Needs a Posi...

  • @blasterboy1467 got one now - 3.70 Moser rear with tru-trac.

  • hot damn listen to then pistons fire off!!..that engine is well done, thumbs up to you guys..and talk about a sleeper..that 57 aint no joke hahaha i love it!!

  • way better than new! Good job!

  • Less talk would be better...

  • looks like the plymouth fury

  • best 57 bel air i've ever seen, good job. :)

  • Omg the sound of your car is making me have an orgasm. What kinda cam is in it. Take gOod care of your ride.

  • @cfhchevy Comp cam .570 lift

  • You need some Ansen-Sprint Mags for that bitch... ASAP

  • beast

  • dam man you got a crazy ride

  • Such a hot car! I love the 57 bel airs. Definitely the best year, i wish we had them in australia :( i'll have to settle for a Holden LoL

  • with the dual quads on it, i dont even wanna ask what the fuel mileage is gonna be on it. Should have put a fuel injection system on it

  • With the 4 speed and 3.70 rear, I get about 8-10 mpg if I don't get on it. I agree FI would work well, but I wanted a nostalgia-ish hot rod flair to this one. Maybe next car...

  • @tommynights how much did that set up run you if you dont mind me askin

  • @MRTSlick1 about 7800 bucks plus serpentine system which is around a grand. my 350/320 hp motor for my 32 ford - was about 4500 plus a few extras

  • @tommynights

If you don't mind my asking, how much was the car itself before the modifications?

  • @masamune200, 29 thousand.

  • @simracr94 why why why??

  • Talk about a sleeper! I love the original look with the big horsepower, and other handling setups. Awesome!

  • Jeees i am still watching this over and over. This is a ride for sure .

  • god damn, thats a woman!!

  • Thats sweet !! Love the original look with some good HP underneath were it counts.I would have put a posi in though, besides that a 20 out of 10.

Man if i had money i would have so many different rides indeed.Cars are cool. 57 are iconic.

  • Thanks, I added a Moser rear with Detriot True-track and 3.70 gears this year, along with Wilwood disc brakes all around. Hope to finish my 32 Ford soon and post some videos.

  • Some nice additions for sure.A 32 as well. Some seriuos HP to wieght ratios there.Planning big block or small ?.Look forward the videos.I am doing the sport compact thing right now but the group i cruise with is a great varity of different rides.from my turbo four to a bad ass SVT cobra. We enjoy each others cars as true car guys.Lots to learn from each other.I have always like the 57 out of many, especially the rare fuel injection.Good luck at finding one of those though.

    Great job once again.

  • Real sharp car. Love the engines idle. Makes it sound like its cammed agressively

  • Raaadiator support

  • LMAO...Raaaaaaaaaaaaadiator support!

  • nice sound

  • Correction "That's what you call smoulderin the tire"

  • Correction "That thing will smoke the tire up"

  • It's called a limited slip differential. One wheel spins when the other has traction.

Only posi will have both rear wheels spinning. Impossible to do with a limited slip differential. Learn before you boast about spinning the wheels.

  • Actually, he was inside the car and didn't see it, and what it has in the video is called an open differential for your info/reference. Limited slip as you refer to IS A FORM of posi rear, learn before YOU criticize. The current setup is now 9" Ford with Detroit truetrac 3rd member.

  • You are correct and I had a brain fart. I ment to say open rear. Either way the car pictured has a "open" rear and only 1 wheel will spin. Limited slip differentials are a form of posi-traction. I'm a old school hot rodder and had both kinds in my 55-57 chevys. 64 posi-units worked the best being only a 10 bolt setup.

  • Wrong again!! Open Diffs Do spin both wheels just not when theres resistence.Like Power brake/Brakestands believe me i got a Buick 350 with 2.56 and it still hauls azz!!!!!!!Gooodnite

  • An open rear will turn both wheels as long as both have solid traction. If either one looses traction then only one wheel will spin. They can alternate from one to the other but only one will spin. Have a nice day

  • nice car looks original classy like it should and sounds like a beast, wish it was mine, well done.

  • Wow nice i like the original look with that engine!

  • Thanks - I did end up changing the wheels to 60's era Cragars, but overall, still looks the same and I can change back later if I want.

  • yeah that rear wont last long i learned the hard way

  • that chevy looks great it for sale

  • Im a Ford man but i would love to have that car.Good Looking car love the way it sounded.Great Job !

  • With that HUGE radiator and dual fans,

no chance of overheating in August!!

    Love the stock look.

  • the hell dude, do you rent this babe for the retro hollywood movies? u got a fukin a o a car!!!!

  • hahaha lol, its so easy to find an american car or truck that you can drop a v8 in i don't know what your talking about

  • that Idle is not right

  • Ah hell yeah 4:55 thank god the rev limiter kicked in that engine would of blew up lol.

  • engines like this don't blow up easy over reving

  • Amazing sound and very beautiful car

  • I love the way he revs the engine to its limits while its still cold...

Nice sound from those massive pipes though

  • Time for a new rear end.

  • Shut ut and let we hear at the engine!!! hahaha

    Congrats for the Chevy!

  • these cars are the bomb

  • i am crying tears of beauty right now. that is one amazing badass car! i have a 72 chevy cheyenne and im about to put a 350 chevy big block in it the engine thats in it right now sure does make it rumble, but its seen better days so im lookin at one 350 i had my eye on. ill try to post a vid

  • 350 chevy big block ???? where it's come from?

  • not sure what you mean, never said it was a big block - it's a 350 small block w/aluminum heads, dual carbs.

  • @sspelletier i think someone needs a hearing aid.. or learn your motors one no such thing as a 350 bbc.

  • i know there is no big block 350. i just reply to the wrong person. read risendudelm comment.

  • lol ok i was kind of lost for words there for a second sorry for the misunderstanding

  • Yep, very cool!!!

  • I want one :-(, not sure if its UK legal tho lol

  • FUCK YEAH!!!!!! PURE ROCK!!!!

  • not with that attitude :P

  • uhh yea it can...?

  • a n/a small block is more then capable of making that much power.

  • proformance unlimited rocks!

  • that's a beauty.

    very clean job !

    you have good taste !
