I suppose your intention was that of being rude and offend me... and I guess you're proud about it, too.
But let me tell you that I'm only sorry for you, because, right now, you seem not to get the beauty in a piece of paper, folded by a human being, that mimic Nature's beauty!
My wish for you: may Life teach you its lessons and may you be ready to learn them.
And may you learn quick, for not to force her to use the hard ways she sadly can, sometimes! :-\
@danbergam I love folding. I was for 8 hours last night doing a modular origami project. Just my results on this one today were not so great as yours lol.
8 hours? That's love for and devotion to origami, indeed... and it takes a lot of determination and patience, too, for to keep up that long!
My congratulations!
About this model, which I designed... I probably ain't the best, when it comes to folding and demostrating... but I'm sure that, with the will you have, you'll be able to have your olive branch come out beautifully, with some more tries!
@danbergam I'm sure I will. I been taking a look at your other videos too. I'm always looking for new and creative ideas to try out. I been trying to create my own modular piece for some time now. I guess it's just going to take some trying to get one to resemble something ;)
It's the best possible thing, I think, for someone being passioned with origami, when playing around with paper a new, original idea takes form... it's so rewarding! I'm sure it'll resemble something, in the end; what matters is to keep up trying to fold, until it works!
I'm working on a new original modular thing, too: hopily I'll be able to complete it soon!
Too many creative ideas and projects, on too many fields... and too few hands and heads to follow them all, haha!
@danbergam I hope I come across the video. If you have a diagram I will give it a shot. Though my housemates home is becoming full of colorful folds now lol.
First of all, thank you for stopping by on this tutorial!
This is one of my original creations... I guess that's why it's... unique! ;-)
About the "kusudama" thing... well, I made some more research and I came to the conclusion that I should have called it "modular origami", because "kusudama" implies that all of the modules are the same; but, here, there are different modules for the branch and for the leaves!
Now, if we look at kirigami page on wikipedia, what we find is that... this shouldn't be kirigami, because I didn't cut any folded thing: what I did cut were two unfolded sheets of paper and then I folded the various piecec needed and I assembled.
Now, I searched for kusudama's page... and well, I think I've found out that this actually is more "modular origami" rather than kusudama...
So... thank you for helping me discover my mistake!
You know, I've been into origami for a while and for the first few years I was like - Me... designing an original origami?! Nah, I guess I wouldn't be able, I'm not that good at it! -
But when someone asked me, on one of my tutorials, if I could eventually invent an olive branch... the classic bulblight turned above my head... and here it is the result! :-D
I'm so glad you like it... and grateful for letting me know! For more tuts I cordially invite you to subscribe!
Thank you so much! Sometimes I look at how it came out and I'm kinda surprised myself... by the way, the real merit goes to the muse of inspiration! ^_^
My next tutorial will be another original design of mine: if you feel like, I cordially invite you to subscribe to my channel, for to not miss it!
Thank you so much, Giorgio, it's such a pleasure to read you here!
The funny part of this model is that someone, commenting on the traditional origami dove, asked me whether I knew how to make an olive branch which could go along with it... and because, as far as I know, such a thing didn't exist before, I began to think about it... and this is the result!
I'm surprised myself by how nicely it came out and I'm like - Woha?! Did I really make this?! -!
Very nice. I realized while watching this that I had never seen any real olive branches, just the abstract peace symbols with the dove. Looked on Google and this seems a good representation of the actual branch.
I'm catholic, and each Palms Sunday I have the chance to see "the real thing"... but definitely, it's mostly known for its stylized representation along with the white dove!
^_^
Thank you soooo much for your kind words: achieveing some realism was one of my main goals, hence your opinion is very rewarding!
I apologize if my message disturbed you in any way.
I'm simply promoting this new tutorial of mine with some people who have shown interest in my tutorials before... and I'm doing it with kindness, I think.
I have to admit that I'm particularly satisfied of how this original design and tutorial came out... and your words are like... like... the chocolate on the icecream!
*smiles and bows in sign of gratitude... but the weight of his mustache makes him lose his balance and he falls down in the orchestra pit, crashing on all the instruments and making the musicians really upset*
Hi Dan!! It's been a while since I heard from you and it's so pleasant that I did with this lovely video that you made. I really enjoyed watching it, it's very creative and thoughtful of you! I'm happy to know there are people like you still out there who spread peace and joy to the world with lovely videos. The music was so relaxing too! lol. I hope to hear from you soon and send each other long emails like we used to. Thank you for sharing!!! x x I hope you and your family are doing well.
When I was collecting the people to which send this, I saw your username and I thought - is she *her*?! I'll have to message her, one of these days! -
Yeah, it used to be great!
:-D
How are you doing?! Hope you and your family are doing well too!
Me... oh, you know, Life, with its highs and lows... the past 2-3 years have been quite challenging... but I'm still here, surviving and living!
Highs: for to mention one, is that now I'm a YouTube partner! :-D
First of all, thank you so much for your appreciation: even though I realize this is quite a simple thing, I'm really satisfied for how it looks!
:-D
Coming to your question... there's a guy who wrote a book about origami models he designed with entertainment in mind: well, there's a figure which looks like a cube giving the impression to be moving according to the viewer's position... a really cool illusion!
I think it's one of your best origami work so far... Or at least, one of my favorite ones :D It's amazing how much you can do out of 2 simple paper sheets!! And btw, I love the peaceful and relaxing sound in the background. A great video to start the day with:)
Peace's never enough... that's why I thank you so much and return it to you, Romain and all of your beloved ones, Nasreen!
Cool! I do believe as well this is my best design+tutorial so far... I mean, I look at those leaves, at the locking system I invented (even tough is quite simple, after all) for the branch and I think - Whoa!? Did I made this?!? Can't believe it! -
:-D
Haha, sometimes I surprise (and scare too, haha!) myself!
Haha, looks like the chicken dance (TM) is really addicting! xD
Thank you so much, Danielle, your words mean so much to me... I've really put a lot of myself in this design/tutorial and your appreciation is very rewarding!

I'll try to remember to share it with you, when it'll be up. About diagramming... eh, that's a bit more difficult, I fear...
Drawers full of origamis? Furniture literally invaded by them? Oh, I think we all origami passionates have been going through that!
xD

wow i didn't know that is a kusudama
if it is it's a very rare kusudama
that's my opinion

Since I've become a partner, I'm losing comments and views on the latest tutorials... :-\
Probably the length of this one doesn't help... but, how could I show this in 3 minutes without rushing and risking to make it unclear?
Who knows, maybe, because of the happenings in Japan, people haven't really been in the right mood for origami...
Or, simply, my tutorials aren't as interesting as other origamists ones'... but I hope this one'll be recognized, I'm quite proud of it!
