About this model, which I designed... I probably ain't the best, when it comes to folding and demostrating... but I'm sure that, with the will you have, you'll be able to have your olive branch come out beautifully, with some more tries!

@danbergam I'm sure I will. I been taking a look at your other videos too. I'm always looking for new and creative ideas to try out. I been trying to create my own modular piece for some time now. I guess it's just going to take some trying to get one to resemble something ;)

It's the best possible thing, I think, for someone being passioned with origami, when playing around with paper a new, original idea takes form... it's so rewarding! I'm sure it'll resemble something, in the end; what matters is to keep up trying to fold, until it works!

I'm working on a new original modular thing, too: hopily I'll be able to complete it soon!

Too many creative ideas and projects, on too many fields... and too few hands and heads to follow them all, haha!

First of all, thank you for stopping by on this tutorial!

This is one of my original creations... I guess that's why it's... unique! ;-)

About the "kusudama" thing... well, I made some more research and I came to the conclusion that I should have called it "modular origami", because "kusudama" implies that all of the modules are the same; but, here, there are different modules for the branch and for the leaves!

Now, if we look at kirigami page on wikipedia, what we find is that... this shouldn't be kirigami, because I didn't cut any folded thing: what I did cut were two unfolded sheets of paper and then I folded the various piecec needed and I assembled.

Now, I searched for kusudama's page... and well, I think I've found out that this actually is more "modular origami" rather than kusudama...

So... thank you for helping me discover my mistake!

You know, I've been into origami for a while and for the first few years I was like - Me... designing an original origami?! Nah, I guess I wouldn't be able, I'm not that good at it! -

But when someone asked me, on one of my tutorials, if I could eventually invent an olive branch... the classic bulblight turned above my head... and here it is the result! :-D

Since I've become a partner, I'm losing comments and views on the latest tutorials... :-\

Probably the length of this one doesn't help... but, how could I show this in 3 minutes without rushing and risking to make it unclear?

Who knows, maybe, because of the happenings in Japan, people haven't really been in the right mood for origami...

Or, simply, my tutorials aren't as interesting as other origamists ones'... but I hope this one'll be recognized, I'm quite proud of it!

Very nice. I realized while watching this that I had never seen any real olive branches, just the abstract peace symbols with the dove. Looked on Google and this seems a good representation of the actual branch.

I'm catholic, and each Palms Sunday I have the chance to see "the real thing"... but definitely, it's mostly known for its stylized representation along with the white dove!

Coming to your question... there's a guy who wrote a book about origami models he designed with entertainment in mind: well, there's a figure which looks like a cube giving the impression to be moving according to the viewer's position... a really cool illusion!
