On occasion, heavily armed Mexican soldiers have crossed over into US territory and fired on U.S. Border Patrol personnel. In one case, a Border Patrol helicopter over U.S. soil was fired upon by a 10-man unit of what appeared to be Mexican soldiers wearing tactical vests and carrying high-powered rifles. In another case, sixteen heavily armed Mexican soldiers in Humvee military vehicles chased American Border Patrol officers more than a mile into U.S. territory.

The cost is being paid by the American taxpayers in more ways than money. Medical service in affected communities is being severely damaged as hospitals absorb more than $200 million in unreimbursed costs. Some emergency rooms have shut down because they cannot afford to stay open. That means local tax-paying Americans are either denied medical care or have to wait in long lines for service as the illegals flood the facilities

(15.1 million/9.8%) = 154 million are able to work in the workforce. 11,941,812 (or 11.9 million) skilled jobs provided to illegal immigrants. I'm a Union member and I've just realized someone could say they're a Union member and then proceed to make an argument from authority that is completely false. I've been a Union member for 83 years and I'm so angry at them.

I was part of the steel workers union most of my life and I'm flabbergasted at the way these union leaders throw around dues money to support political agendas. Why would they spend money defending illegal immigrants who then take the jobs of union workers? Makes no sense.

@mrcoldheart What planet have you been living on? Everything political of late falls the way of the Union. Unions haven't done anything good for people since the 1950's and was there to remember. So, you want more workers coming in taking American jobs? You might as well be for outsourcing, it's the same thing. These workers send most of their money back to Mexico and Central America. You need to wake up and smell the coffee and stop drinking the Kool-Aid.

@oldgrumpyguy1927 Mr old guy, just because your life only allowed you one viewpoint doesn't mean you get to ignore other Americans. My grandfather, uncle, grandmother, and mother were all union. You sound like a ideologue fool when you say things like "unions haven't done anything for people". Unless you're upper management at major corp you should refrain from saying things that aren't even reasonably sound on the matter.

@mrcoldheart I was a dues paying Union worker for 45 years. At the time, I fought and picketed right next to my union brothers. Now sitting back and doing the math, I realize that there was very little gained by it and the Union leaders were the ones who really benefited. 8 weeks on strike to get an extra 4 cents an hour and some pension benefits...what a laugh...I never made up the lost 8 weeks of wages and the pension benefits went in the wind when the company went bankrupt. We were fools!

@mrcoldheart, it is because unions are so pro illegal immigration that most private sector workers would not touch a union. Its obvious that unions are not acting in workers interest, unions are acting in their own interest for greed and power.

How can a Union, or the Government, or even a "book club" represent both illegal aliens and U.S. citizens at the same time?! It's like an attorney representing both sides of a case! Illegal aliens, by the very nature of their status, work against, and are against, the rights and sovereignty of any and all citizens of a nation! Citizens must play by the rules but illegal aliens dont!!! All SEIU represents is B.S.!!!

@09bassman Being an old union guy I'm pissed that they allow this. I'm 82 years old and back in my day there were a lot of first generation immigrants, but the were legal and hard working. if you didn't have papers you didn't work back then.

I was a Union member for 45 years. The two things that aggravate me the most is the fact that my union dues went to support candidates and policy I didn't agree with, and on top of that they destroyed the opportunity to get promoted for working hard. It became all about seniority and connections. Like everything else money and power ruined the idea of unified labor negotiation.
