  • Buy yourself a real feeder, save the time and costs for building it, and the loss of minerals when it rains into it or it is tipped over, and save your neighbours from looking at that pile of waste.

  • Yeah really easy design and worked just as planned. I added 2 push brooms on the side as a spot for cattle to scratch on.

  • We have some longhorns and unfortunately they have difficulty getting to the mineral in this feeder type. They are pretty creative as you probably are aware and manage to get some, but their intake is probably restricted. Works well for most other horned cattle.

  • would this work for longhorn cattle?

  • This is realy great design. I made something like this but smaller for my feeder pigs. They kept tipping it over so i had to bolt the tire to a 3/4"4x8 sheet of plywood.

  • hi dr matt sounds like im saying hi dr phil ,getting into farming myself ,this is a great idea ,could it be possible to make another hole the same size the other side for more access for calves, and this could also be used for water thanks matt, all the best from eire

  • Made the feeder in about 25 minutes. It was easy and seems to work great.
