Non-asian masters can never move like this, can they? I'm neither asian nor master, but I'm in the business for a long time and this is was I observed and am pretty sure of. Don't know why, it just looks different. Genetics maybe?
It is true, it is a Chinese Muslim style. There is another popual one, called Tam Tui or springy legs. But don't confuse these muslims with the jihadist racist vile arabs or Talban.
very nice video I appreciate it, and I respect the muslim hui in china for preserving the arts and for their good representation of both chinese and muslim people,
Bajiquan ("eight extreme fists") was first recorded as being practiced by Wu Zhong, a Hui Muslim from Meng Village in Cang County in Hebei Province during the early Qing Dynasty
Yes, he is a Muslim. He is probably from the Huizu Muslim community in the Cangzhou region of the Hebei Province in China. Cangzhou is in southern China, southern China is also known as Canton, China. Baji Quan Kung Fu is very popular amongst the Muslim community of Cangzhou. There are many Chinese Muslim masters of that system of Kung Fu.
Actually this is Grandmaster Wu Lianzhi, current head of the Wu Branch of Baji Quan Kung Fu. The Wu family is a Muslim family. Since this is the Wu Branch of Baji, it is a Muslim form of Kung Fu.
translation into english is easy....I like english, ppl are not specific on words as long as it gets though properly. eg. sweet...also can mean good, great etc 'lu' is just an expression of the meaning...don't think too much...by the way 'lu' without the 'hanzi' could mean anything. here it just means path and laymen road...only china ppl get don't seem understand these sort of things...lol
i love that moves. looks exactly the same as shown in kenji goh comic..! very cool.

The current head for the Baji Quan in China is not a practicing Muslim - Wu LianZhi.
He is a muslim by following Islam in China but he drinks arak or alcohol like a mule.
I wonder if he is a real muslim or not.
Islam forbids alcohol as it tarnished the body spirit and mind to a wayward lifestyle.
But respect to him for keeping the Chinese Muslim version of BAJI QUAN alive and kicking.

@MDIS What's the deal with this "head of martial arts"? Is there a law or something?
brucenatelee 1 year ago
@MDIS well there are alot of gung fu masters that drink like a mule but they are true to their religion....
