@flysnake12 LOL no. Kung Fu is Chinese (it's even a chinese term for hard work which isn't exclusive to fighting arts), Bodhidharma was from india. He influenced Shaolin branch of chinese kung fu. Kung fu martial art was in existence in China way before Bodhidharma, it's in the records. However, Bohdidharma only influenced the shaolin branch of kung fu, which is only one out of 100 branches.
@wonphi which record are you reading ? ok in india and china they had martial arts at the same time way before when they were both one country. Also kung fu is the chinese term thats what its called in china, in India In Hindi or urdu its called Kalarippayattu also shaolin is all one people just modify their own way so i conclude tayari is not 1st master and kung fu is just the name for it in chinese
@flysnake12 umm you really don't know what you are talking about are you. Kung fu means MANY things. Kung fu is not 1 style, where as Kalaripayattu is ONE style from India. Kung fu is something distinctly chinese, and many martial arts styles can fall under this term. I suggest you do some research before randomly saying stuff, because it really doesn't make any sense. Tayari is not the only master, but Bohdidmarma is in no way the frist master of kung fu. that would be false.
@wonphi dont tell me im saying random stuff because i did my research so if you wanna correct me go ahead, but i know what i am saying and i know the meaning of Kung Fu its not only meaning combat it means "achievement" or "merit" also kung fu also dont try to correct me about my own nationality i am Chinese and part Indian Bangladeshi Thai and Cambodian and Malaysian Most styles of kung fu were also invented by the Muslims they existed way before the Buddhists or the Hindus
@flysnake12 listen I am correcting you because you made a mistake, kung fu was not invented by one type of people, it was invented in China, and MANY ethnic groups have their own type of martial arts which we can call kung fu. You stated Bhodidharma as the first kung fu master, which is false. I am just telling you what is right. At least you understand what kung fu means "Achievement/ or hard work." which shows that one man nor group could have created that since it involves many disciplines.
@wonphi you said they were not invented by one type of people yet you say chinese invented it and i also did say ok look im in kung fu my teacher is Arab and his master is Korean and his master is Chinese and his master is Vietnamese and his master is Indian and his master is Malaysian and in our class we have 2 masters one is arab one is chinese he gave us the history on kung fu it was invented by the Asians all contributing together.
@flysnake12 You seem to be confused. the Term KUNG FU IS chinese. you won't see that term anywhere else. Martial ARTS however is not exclusive to chinese. But the first Kung Fu masters were chinese. It's as simple as that. India does not do kung fu, they do kalari. bhodidharma was not the first Kung Fu master, Kung Fu was in China BEFORE bhodidharma. forms like shui jao predate the arrival of Bhodidharma as well as the Shaolin temple.
@flysnake12 And FYI china isn't one type of people. it is an aggregate of ethnic groups Han, Manchurian, Chao Zhou etc. Each with their own distinct cultures, martial arts and customs. they were however unified as one entity by Shi Huang Di, and thus collectively became known as Chinese.
@wonphi but you said they were only invetned by chinese and i also never said they were one "type" of people. all asian cultures are similar. kung fu is not just chinese its all those nationalities you named including all the surrounding asian nations
@flysnake12 what I said was correct, either you don't understand what I am saying or you are ignorant of the terms I have been using. It doesn't sound to me like you know very much about the history of kung fu, Kung fu is a chinese term that is a fact, and those nations integrated into China don't refute that term either. My original point is that Bhodidharma is in no way, shape or form the first kung fu master, and that is my original point. Which is true.
@wonphi ok well right now im not talking about Bodhidharma . Kung Fu was invented around 2,000 B.C. It was created by the Bhuddhadarma. He was a priest who went on many missions from India to the Shaolin temple. Also yes i agree he is not the first master because at his time other masters also did the same some chinese, some indian, some from other parts of asia.
@wonphi Kung Fu is not a chinese martial art its not an Indian martial art its a martial created by many people from different asian nations all working together to form a new style of fighting. It started because the warriors needed a way to defend them selves and so they made a new form of fighting in china its Kung fu, in Iindia Kalarippayattu in cambodia bokator in Malaysia silat. i well understood what u said
@flysnake12 MY god you really don't know what you are talking about. You basically said what I said. I already said kung fu is an aggregate of different ethnic groups & THEY ARE COLLECTIVELY known as Chinese. So Kung Fu IS a chinese term. & again you are wrong Kung Fu was NOT created by Bhodidharma. There are records of martial arts that predate him & his arrival and Shaolin. How old are you? You seem to be jumping all over the place in your argument and contradicting yourself at the same time.
@flysnake12 KUNG FU is a Chinese term. THat is a fact. No other nation has Kung Fu. They have their own MARTIAL ARTS, but they don't call their fighting system Kung Fu. That is a fact, I don't even know why you don't understand this, this VERY self explanatory, ESPECIALLY if you say you are part chinese. maybe if you understood the language you wouldn't be so confused.
@wonphi oh yeah thats y there is like a few hundred different shaolin temples in india, bangladesh, thailand, cambodia and even one in wichita. and i just explained every nation you did not understand what i said seriously dude dont correct me on my own nationality im saying again
@flysnake12 Yeah this confirms how stupid you really are. I can correct you because you are wrong. that's the truth. I am student of multi shaolin and kung fu branches from masters from the Shaolin temple and Northern Shaolin sect. I have had intricate conversations on the history of martial arts with my masters, and grand masters alike.
@wonphi excuse me.. stupid how stupid i am? ok good for you thats what you think but ok well i do happen to study martial arts and its roots so......whatever i mean you trying to insult me and i have been in it for years. i mean thats ok but you are trying to call me stupid after trying to teach me of my own culture my own nationality and my own race.
@flysnake12 I have the right to teach you because you are absolutely DEAD WRONG in your information. And I will tell you this, it's MY culture, and MY race as well, not to mention, my Sifu's have a direct root and understanding in the topic at hand passed down from written and oral tradition. I have absolute firm belief and ocnfirmation of what I am saying, it's not just bull shit or made up crap to make me appear smart over the internet -__-
The reason why there is Shaolin temples at neighbouring countries is because Shaolin monks left the temple in China when they were attacked and had to flee. the cultural revolution in China did much harm to the traditional way of shaolin.
I know what I am talking about, and what you just told me shows your understanding of kung fu history is at a very elementary level. I hope you truly are a kung fu enthusiast, because I would hate to waste my time teaching a stubborn wannabe.
Tayari Casel is one of those people - of the very few, that I would call a MASTER. I remember seeing him in all the magazines - I could tell then, that he was a great practitioner.
