Did you NOT hear dispatcer tell the caller at 2:36 to wait outside at the scene for the police? When Crowley arrived she hailed him and they spoke face to face.
There is no disagreement on this fact, by Crowley, Wayen, the other officers, Gates, or Gates' attorney.
I don't see the connection. The suspects in question are inside the house. The caller is outside the house and in the company of at least one other person.
I think it would be a rare event where a burglar goes outside to beat up people. Maybe I'm wrong (I'm not an expert) but I've really never heard of one.
it is not illegal to insult a police officer. in fact the law states that disorderly conduct requires other actions besides speech, look the damn law up you ignorant fool
Your right you can disagree with a cop all you want. No problem. You are correct speech is no basis for arrest. Howver, loud speech that causes persons to "stop snd stare' or otherwise change their usally behavior is disorderly conduct, which is a chargable offense.
Basically, while you have the freedom to say anything you want, the public has the right not to listen to your bullshit.
but who decides how loud is actually loud enough to get arrested? the cop was obviously trying to show Gates who was boss and therefore arrested him. Didn't Crowley lie in his police report about what the witness said? He said she told him there were two black males which the witness denies and the 911 call shows proof of. So he could have also lied about what took place. It was obviously a petty charge otherwise the charge wouldn't have been dropped which proves my point that it was unnecessary
The way it went down (the media didn't really report this well) was after the 911 call thet you hear here, Crowly was dispacted to the scene to meet Wayland.
In that face to face with Wayland her tells her he's "i'm going in". He then askes her "So there's only 2 people in the house"?
She says "Well, i don't know... I only saw 2 'black men' go inside". Crowley says "OK, Thank you" and goes in. That's how it got in the report.
Did you hear audio of this dialogue you're describing? The witness who called denied talking to the officer on the scene and I am inclined to believe she's telling the truth; this also means that Crowley is lying.
Allenr10391 disturbance has various levels (just like theft has petty theft (petty larceny), theft (larceny) and grand theft (grand larceny) which is a felony.
Tumultuous Disturbance is a felony but requires acts like brawling etc. speech alone does not warrant that felony charge. The lesser charge of disorderly conduct can be issued for any act which causes a person to turn there head, break their stride while walking or simply shifting the glance of their eyes due to an action.
So by your definition sneezing can be construed as disorderly conduct. That's just absolutely ridiculous. The officer arbitrarily charged Gates. Who determines how loud is actually loud? Being loud is speech, he was being loud(supposedly) while TALKING. Your argument is one of ignorance and total denial f the facts; Crowley is a liar, who charged Gates unnecessarily to show him who was boss.
Allenr10391 Once again read the law. Yup you can be arrested for sneezing. That's why you say "Excuse me!" It just depends on the person you are annoying.
Allenr10391 I feel really sad for you that you cannot comprehend "quite enjoyment". Where do you live? Boom Box city? All Americans (cops included) enjoy the the right to peace. When you "mouth off" it's on you pal.
Look up the law yourself Fool. Gates wasn't charged for his speech Fool. He was charged with being loud Fool.
Allenr10391 take that white boy's dick out of your mouth so you can actually SEE and READ the law book and quote for all of article of law that supports your theory.
The race matters to a 911 caller because skin color is a description like a tattoo or birth mark or age. It is sad that everything must be considered a racial judgement.
i dont see the man being racially profiled for being black but because the lady said he looked hispanic. They where profiling hispanic people before even getting to the scene. It would be the same if she said he looked black but if she said white on the call The police would probably not arrested the man.
The way the media reported it at first, Walen was the one who told the operator that there were two black men trying to break into the house. Liar #1...THE MEDIA!
Then, the 911 tapes come out and Walen is being non biased and sounds really nice but confused... then the operator asks what race the men are... Walen says "I don't know...one looks to be Hispanic, I can't see the other one ..."
THEN Crowley puts in the police report that two black men were breaking in the house
without gaining the information first. LIar #2: OFFICER CROWLEY
Gates let the officer in shows the man his ID and Crowley should have left, no matter what protests Gates was putting up. I'd be angry as well, someone trying to arrest me for B&E of my OWN HOUSE!
At best Gates should have shut up... and not calling out the man's mother the way he did... but that was a childish move...and it was an equally childish move for Crowley to have put him under arrest for that. I've been called
all kinds of names ...everything from black bitch to black hoe...Can I have those people who insulted me arrested for hurting my feelings? lol Logic would say, apologize for the intrusion, walk away and go to Dunkin Donuts. lol
1. How do you know that the neighbor lives across the street from Gates? A "neighbor" can be from many more places than "across the street". I don't know what EVERY person in my neighborhood looks like. After all, three residential streets over from mine is still in my "neighborhood". Why do you ask?
3. Gates' behavior fell under the discretion of the cop for arrest, but maybe not necessarily conviction. Happens all the time. I've been arrested but not convicted.
USArgos is right. Being black did not even enter the equation until the officer arrived on the scene. And then what is he going to gain from fabricating details in the report? There is only racism at play if you are looking through your racism goggles.
this crowley is an attitude waiting to happen. and it happened. his pictures even give him away. people have certain looks . and his looks are not good.
Wow...the illiterate here who can't form sentences logically and launches off from assumptions asks me how dumb I am.
Isn't it obvious how simple news clips posted here on Youtube bring out the most rabid, hysterical people who want so desperately to point the finger of racism at others, yet are oblivious to the demons of bigotry in their own soul?
I mean, in this nonsequitor of a post alone, we find a person forming all kinds of fantasy about a the cop's "bias" from simple radio traffic.
UM what I am saying is that in the title you claim: "So many people who screamed "racism", "police abuse", and "racial profiling" about this case now have egg on their face, but will they admit they pre-judged the conditions of this Gates arrest?"
I am just commenting that the fact that the lady who called in didn't mention race does not IMPLY OR PROVE that the cop DID NOT USE racial bias. Thats all. You cant conclude anything about the police officer's conduct from this call.
Still kinda confused what this is all about, but all I know is the caller was not racist. Also you can all the dispatcher racist for asking "Black, Hispanic." I haven't got the full idea what this is about, but I don't think it's racist. I don't give a shit who Gates is, but hes just a little dumbass. If he were to get all hyped up over a little racism issue, which is not even considered as a issue here. It's not like someone when up to his face, and said hes a stupid nigger.
Crowley has been caught dead to rights. He falsified his report to justify his actions. I never believed this was a racial thing initially but now I'm not so sure. Whalen, even at the prodding of the dispatcher, NEVER says black men are involved nor does she mention backpacks. This cop is as rogue as Gates alleges. A mere reasonable assessment by Crowley and this incident never takes place.
Sgt Crowley is "caught dead to rights" only if you haven't read the cop's incident reports. But, then again, for people who want to see racism in everything the police do, nothing will educate their hate-filled minds.
Think logically about this: Crowley hears a call from dispatch which mentioned no race at all. He responded. Once there, a bystander tells him further descriptions. How does including "blacks w/ backpacks" help Crowley justify anything? If anything, it complicates things.
I read his entire report posted on smoking gun. There is a distinct difference between a "suitcase" (term used by 911 caller) and a backpack. Why tell 911 one thing and the officer on seen another? Why, because it never happened. She never said black men and she never said backpacks. These are terms Crowley used in his report, ONLY! 2 black men with backpacks makes the situation seem more imperative than it actually was, ergo justification for overzealous investigating. A bit rogue-ish I'd say.
"2 black men with backpacks makes the situation seem more imperative"
Just why does that make the situation seem more imperative for arresting Gates over disorderly conduct? Why are you so racist to think just because blacks are involved that that makes ANYthing seem more "imperative"? Don't you understand that for Crowley to include a description of "black" in his incident report IMMEDIATELY makes his job that much harder?
You're trying to fit a square peg in a round hole, Talkingskins.
I'm not saying it does make it more imperative, I'm saying that is Crowley's position/fabrication. It has nothing to do with arresting Gates but it has everything to do with painting a picture that isn't real. Why are YOU so racist that you can't see between the obfuscation of Crowley's report. Don't go calling people you no nothing about names you don't understand.
I'm really trying to have an intelligent conversation with you, man, but you just keep desperately throwing out illogical, racist comments.
Just how does one "see between the obfuscation of Crowley's report"? One doesn't 'see between obfuscation', Talkingskin. Do you mean 'see through obfuscation'?
I think you are so hell-bent on making Crowley a racist that you're seeing a bogeyman where there isn't one. He wouldn't write "2 blacks..." for the sake of obfuscation. You sound paranoid.
That is precisely what I meant to convey. You are the only one hell-bent on painting anyone who questions Crowley's motivation as a racist. I can't possibly know if he is or is not truly a racist. A rogue is not by definition a racist, but he is dishonest and that is the only label I have given him. My mind is not hate filled because I do not see this issue as you do nor is this about me as you would make it. Crowley arrested Gates not me. If I am racist, what race am I? You can't possibly know?
If that's what you meant to convey, then you don't know what the words "between" and "obfuscation" mean. You used them wrongly, and thus prevent considerate communication between us. But that's ok--I'm used to having to decipher poor logic from people like you.
And never did I say that to question Crowley's motivation means that you are racist. Don't put words in my mouth. I said that YOU make racist comments like the "...imperative" claim. B/c of that, by implication you paint Crowley so.
Far be it from to put words in your mouth even though this excerpt is from your first reply to my post: "But, then again, for people who want to see racism in everything the police do, nothing will educate their hate-filled minds." Surely you're not implying that I am racist and/or hate filled. My (...imperative) comment is not racist as you claim, it speaks solely to Crowley's investigative zeal as I stated. You're the one claiming racism vis-à-vis my comment. Your assertion is bunk.
From your post that garnered my quote you cite, this is what you said and to which I was responding: "I never believed this was a racial thing initially but now I'm not so sure."
Honestly, you just don't know when to quit, do you?
The words "..not so sure" do not definitively illustrate my position. They do, however, imply (your favorite term) that race could be a motivating factor. Therefore, the unsubstantiated allegations of racism and being hate filled are only in your imagination. Honestly, the level of intellectual chicanery on your part is pathetic at best. I have no reason to quit because the substance of my argument is still holding water, filthy dog.
Your crude discourse ("filthy dog", etc) paints you as hate-filled, not me. Only your imagination is at work here, not mine.
"Honestly, the level of intellectual chicanery on your part is pathetic at best."
Sad that I've defeated you with such "pathetic" logic, then, isn't it? I've reduced you to scrambling for something, anything, to accuse of Sgt Crowley. Readers can see through you.
"Think logically about this: Crowley hears a call from dispatch which mentioned no race at all. He responded. Once there, a bystander tells him further descriptions."
Where do you get that dispatch makes no reference to race? No one knows that, least of all you. The only info regarding "further descriptions" is from Crowley's report. Why would Whalen tell Crowley something she could not confirm to the 911 operator? He is not exonerated by the release of this 911 call.
"Where do you get that dispatch makes no reference to race?" Talkingskins, one cannot prove a negative. I'm logical enough to know that, but the same cannot be said of you.
"Why would Whalen tell Crowley something she could not confirm to the 911 operator?" I'm not Sgt Crowley, so this is supposition: it is not out of the realm of possibility that while waiting for the officer to arrive, she was able to glimpse the two men walking to the porch to retrieve the suitcases, seeing their race.
"Once there, a bystander tells him further descriptions." It wasn't just any bystander either. Crowley's report said Whalen (911 caller) informed him of 2 black men with backpacks. Playing loose with the facts is what you've been accusing others of doing along with a plethora of acerbic commentary. Yet, you're just as guilty as those you've verbally assaulted. Look into transactional analysis. I believe it could really help you out.
The media and those people who talk shit without knowing all the facts first should apologize to the woman whom they've ridiculed threatened, and insulted.
If you got the guts to threat or talk shit should have the balls to admit wrong and apologize.
It's not so much what she said or didn't say, it's her actions.Although one can't make a judgement based on this one incident, if you look at large numbers, you will see that people will make more of an effort to call police when there is a suspicious colored person as opposed to a suspicious white person.I was once in South Pasadena and stopped to talk to a black man (I'm white). Then out of the blue, cops carded us out of 1000s of white people saying someone had reported loud arguing. A lie!
Audio does NOT HAVE what this lady told Crowley when she met up with him when he arrived. She had been standing outside watching the house and probably noticed that both men were black at one point. It makes sense to me, since at least one was black lol
This audio is meaningless since it is not during the incident.
The women said one of them MIGHT of LOOK LIKE HISPANIC. So could it be possible that once Crowley got to the scene she had told him something else after a better observation since she could not give one earlier?
This 911 call is to proof that the women was not racial profiling. However it does not show what she told Crowley at the scene.
Obviously the women is scared therefore she got a LAWYER TO SPEAK FOR HER. As an attorny I too would use this 911 call to end this barns & bailey circuit.
This tape goes to show, that, yes, the police acted stupidly. Which isn't out the norm for them. Who on here hasn't had a situation where the police acted stupidly...lol..
But it was officer Crowley who said that she said "two Black men with back packs" - also, I thought it was his cab driver that helped him. I guess she didn't notice the cab - cab, suitcases - .... I guess that sounds like robbers
Read the LIE of a report CROWLY said she told him 2 BLACK MALES with BACKPACKS> Racebaiter or Racist? Where is any audio of Gates being unrully. You can hear him say a couple of things in the Other tape but ne was NOT out of control
I don't think the caller meant any malice, HOWEVER, the dispatcher brought up the question of race by FIRST asking if the men were BLACK or HISPAN. Later he said "White, Black, or Hispan." Serious denial to not hear dispatch. Subconcious remark...hmm. Gates overreacted, but who wouldn't have. He's tired, he didn't have his keys & now the cops are accusing him of breaking into his own house. Cop could've EASILY verified ID, said sorry for confusion, but his EGO fueled the flames! Cased closed!
go through the backdoor, lol. It is clearing a race issue, and white people who say it is not are the ones who want to deny the fact that it is there. I my self have been the victim of racial profiling on a few occasions, and on occaision had a offer call me a nigger and i quote "Do you think you are better then me nigger just because you are going to college and I didn't?" When i insisted to him i was not doing anything wrong and i was a college student and he had the person for whatever it was
Well someone who was educated wouldn't demean someones educational level because of typos. I am a computer programmer my strength is math not grammar, if you want to test knowledge based on what you are good at then lets based this on mathematics and computers then lets see who is not a "college student"
I don't think someone with any real experience in computing would take insults made over the Internet seriously. Perhaps you're a fraud in that regard too?
LoL, so you telling me she was able to see him force open the door and all that, yet she could not tell what color he was? She was clearly trying to avoid the question, the REASON why she called was because he was black, if he was white and wearing a suit and she saw the suitcases like she said, im sure she would not have called... And Since when do old HARVARD professors need to break into a house? If they were, if they worked at harvard i would hope they would be smart enough to atleast
wait! if someone calls about an alleged break-in, why is the race of the person or people breaking into a house important? shouldn't the cops dispatch immediately to the scene? why are they so persistent on discovering the race? smh truely shameful
Cops try to investigate a break-in call (they don't know what to expect); in the process of substantiating the call you have one of the men inside throwing a fit when you ask for ID...just what in the Hell do you expect the cop to do?
Men like Gates see racism as an issue because the want to see it as an issue.
A so called " substantiated break-in call" does not necessitate a police to abuse his authority in arresting a nearly handicapped 5"7', 58,150 lbs. man when presented with two forms of I.D: one from Harvard/other from the state of Mass.-Wait forgot one detail, Gates is a BLACK male so the standards of decency and reason for officers w/ a license to kill freeze. Think about it . Who was in the pos. to inflict more damage?
Thank you exactly and it is ridiculous. The cops are just doing their job, they don't know who the people are in the house. And what is up with the jerk dispatcher....
Thank u very much i was begining to think i was hearing thngs. The caller has stated that she never gave details of race yet the cop says so in this holy report sent down to earth by god to man. And this is the report every1 is basing their arguement s against gates. There are 2 reports, both different some1 is lying people need to investigate and not take sides.
Come on, she IGNORED THE FACT THAT HE WAS BLACK..I mean, how do you have enough time to see someone is trying to open the door, then they open the screen door, and then force the door open..thats all like 10 secs of work.. and in 10 seconds you couldn't notice what color they were? Also, if you live next door..how the hell do you NOT know what your neighbor looks like, people need to open their eyes.
The cop should never arrested a man in his own home. There was NO REASON for it. Perhaps if the man had bent down and kissed his shoes then he would have walked away.
If CROWLEY said in the police report about "2 black males with backpacks" where did that come from????? Was he lying? That is not what was said in the 911 call.
Racial Profiling, Black or Hispanic, happens all the time. Just like our President said.
Do you know how to read, BloggerWoman? No wonder you're filled with hate and prejudice--you have some real issues.
To do your homework for you, here's exactly what is on Crowley's police report:
"As I reached the door [of Gates' house] a female voice called out to me." She "told me that it was she who called. She went on to tell me that she observed what appeared to be two black males with backpacks on the porch of 17 Ware Street."
Why is it that on every comment that opposes urs, u claim they are racist , hateful or angry. THATS THE STEREOTYPE THAT PEOPLE OF COLOR ARE SICK OF HEARING, THATS THE PROFILE THAT THE POLICE USE. And quoting the cops report is not the bible, there were 2 sides and the cop could be lying he already lied about the 911 call.
First of all, you don't speak for all people of color, sguardian, so for you to speak in generalities such as "THATS THE STEREOTYPE THAT PEOPLE OF COLOR ARE SICK OF HEARING", shows your prejudice.
For every person of color you may know who are "sick of hearing" about charges of black racism, I know of at least another person of color who knows that black racism exists, and sees it in professor Henry Gates' actions, as well as in people like you who type in caps and use foul language.
I dont speak for all people of color, but i speak for the majority that face this problem everyday and believe me the are more with my view compared to those that arent.
Please tell me what foul language im used in that comment or does everytime a blk person decides to speak all u CHOOSE to hear or read is foul comments. The only racist in here is u for running solely on the white mans report when there are 2 and we know some1 is lying.
Gates is under this heat because most of the non blacks and the cop think that the minute a black person complains or confronts they are angry hateful etc. Please also state where in my comments in this forum that i stated that there are no black racists pls tell me. As i said u are the racist in here. All i stated was there are 2 stories and 1 of them keeps evolving. The caller said she never mention the color on the fone, yet the report says she did.the pics also say different.
Hey BloggerWoman your a clown and race baiter. The Police dispatcher specifically asked the 911 caller if the persons were white, black or hispanic. She simply answered the question she was being asked. This is another example of the typical (race baiting I'm a victim of the system) attitude from a bogus liberal elitest as yourself.
lowCOG come on, man. Are you serious. It wouldn't have been an issue, because the call would've never been made in the first place. Are you saying that racial profiling does not exist? Are you saying that Blacks have only NOW started to complain about the double standards that exist in our society? You really believe this then I truly feel sorry for you.
Would have, should have, could have. In short would've, should've, could've. Stop joking around silly!
Ok, let's (that's let us) get serious. Answer the questions if you can, WITHOUT name calling or insults. (Can lowCOG do this? Yes he can, yes he can! He's a good boy! Yes he is!)
Does racism exist? Are Blacks ever justified claiming the "race" issue? Why or why not. State (not "stat") & support your position with facts. No insults. No swear words. Your IQ depends on it.
You sound like a smart person like sguardian, below. I know that people like you are used to just aping what other racists claim without providing proof, but for the sake of this audience, here, can you answer a couple of questions about what you just said (if you have enough intelligence and intergrity, that is):
1) What is your proof about of the lies from Cambridge PD and Crowley?
2) Is the black officer who assisted in Gates' arrest as well as the black female officer a liar also?
Crowley lied in his report, he said the witness said they were two black males which the witness vehemently denies and the call shows evidence in her favor. You are to racist to admit the cop lied when it's obvious he did and therefore I am inclined to believe that you just wanted to take the cops side in the first place.
USARGOS are u half asleep did u not hear that the police put in their report that the caller had said they were black and now what the fuck are u saying. That means the police lied.
You're the one who's asleep, sguardian. The police report said that Crowley was told about "two black males with backpacks" AT THE SCENE by the female with the cell phone who originally made the 911 call.
See how you don't know what you're talking about, sguardian?
There was a call by the female AND there was on-the scene dialogue from her after she got further descriptions of the two men.
In other words, what the police 1st responded to was not a call about "2 black men..."
The responding police officer would not have spoken to the caller. He would have spoken to dispatch. Do you think the callers have the cops personal cell phone #s? IF anyone claimed they were identified as black,it was the dispatch, who sure as hell didn't sound white to anyone.
the police reports said that the caller said they were black and now its been exposed to the public the police lied about something as little as this, who knows what else crowley is lying about mmm...... the truth shall set u free. Gate ur tears shall not be in vain.
whatever! Gates and Obama have done nothing but made fools of themselves. These 2 are the real race baiters. Absolutely appalling that we have a President like this in office.
white people always think they are Perry Mason

At best Gates should have shut up... and not calling out the man's mother the way he did... but that was a childish move...and it was an equally childish move for Crowley to have put him under arrest for that. I've been called

1. Why doesn't Gate's neighbor know who lives across the street from her?
2. Gates instigated & then escalated an adversarial situation with the cop.
3. Gates behavior was not illegal. But it wasunethical to behave in such a provocative manner, then blame the cop for being a hot head.
4. Accepting the Presidents "beer" offer Gates said that since it was "a teaching opportunity" he'd attend.
5. Being a jackass is an equal-opportunity affliction. Gates sounds like a jackass.
jono8100 2 years ago
4. (statement or ?)

Why are you such a douche bag argos?
ramzey189 2 years ago
USArgos is right. Being black did not even enter the equation until the officer arrived on the scene. And then what is he going to gain from fabricating details in the report? There is only racism at play if you are looking through your racism goggles.

Funny how she was standing outside but did not speak with Crowley when he got there.....
But I have to give it to her lawyer though, one smart laywer able to get her client off without a scratch.

just because she wasn't racist does not mean that the cop didn't act on racial bias?
how dumb are you USArgos?
ramzey189 2 years ago
Wow...the illiterate here who can't form sentences logically and launches off from assumptions asks me how dumb I am.
Isn't it obvious how simple news clips posted here on Youtube bring out the most rabid, hysterical people who want so desperately to point the finger of racism at others, yet are oblivious to the demons of bigotry in their own soul?
I mean, in this nonsequitor of a post alone, we find a person forming all kinds of fantasy about a the cop's "bias" from simple radio traffic.
USArgos 2 years ago
UM what I am saying is that in the title you claim: "So many people who screamed "racism", "police abuse", and "racial profiling" about this case now have egg on their face, but will they admit they pre-judged the conditions of this Gates arrest?"
I am just commenting that the fact that the lady who called in didn't mention race does not IMPLY OR PROVE that the cop DID NOT USE racial bias. Thats all. You cant conclude anything about the police officer's conduct from this call.
DUMBAZZZZZZ!!!
ramzey189 2 years ago
Still kinda confused what this is all about, but all I know is the caller was not racist. Also you can all the dispatcher racist for asking "Black, Hispanic." I haven't got the full idea what this is about, but I don't think it's racist. I don't give a shit who Gates is, but hes just a little dumbass. If he were to get all hyped up over a little racism issue, which is not even considered as a issue here. It's not like someone when up to his face, and said hes a stupid nigger.
NigguhJason 2 years ago
Crowley has been caught dead to rights. He falsified his report to justify his actions. I never believed this was a racial thing initially but now I'm not so sure. Whalen, even at the prodding of the dispatcher, NEVER says black men are involved nor does she mention backpacks. This cop is as rogue as Gates alleges. A mere reasonable assessment by Crowley and this incident never takes place.
Talkingskins21 2 years ago
Sgt Crowley is "caught dead to rights" only if you haven't read the cop's incident reports. But, then again, for people who want to see racism in everything the police do, nothing will educate their hate-filled minds.
Think logically about this: Crowley hears a call from dispatch which mentioned no race at all. He responded. Once there, a bystander tells him further descriptions. How does including "blacks w/ backpacks" help Crowley justify anything? If anything, it complicates things.
USArgos 2 years ago
I read his entire report posted on smoking gun. There is a distinct difference between a "suitcase" (term used by 911 caller) and a backpack. Why tell 911 one thing and the officer on seen another? Why, because it never happened. She never said black men and she never said backpacks. These are terms Crowley used in his report, ONLY! 2 black men with backpacks makes the situation seem more imperative than it actually was, ergo justification for overzealous investigating. A bit rogue-ish I'd say.
Talkingskins21 2 years ago
"2 black men with backpacks makes the situation seem more imperative"
Just why does that make the situation seem more imperative for arresting Gates over disorderly conduct? Why are you so racist to think just because blacks are involved that that makes ANYthing seem more "imperative"? Don't you understand that for Crowley to include a description of "black" in his incident report IMMEDIATELY makes his job that much harder?
You're trying to fit a square peg in a round hole, Talkingskins.
USArgos 2 years ago
I'm not saying it does make it more imperative, I'm saying that is Crowley's position/fabrication. It has nothing to do with arresting Gates but it has everything to do with painting a picture that isn't real. Why are YOU so racist that you can't see between the obfuscation of Crowley's report. Don't go calling people you no nothing about names you don't understand.
Talkingskins21 2 years ago
I'm really trying to have an intelligent conversation with you, man, but you just keep desperately throwing out illogical, racist comments.
Just how does one "see between the obfuscation of Crowley's report"? One doesn't 'see between obfuscation', Talkingskin. Do you mean 'see through obfuscation'?
I think you are so hell-bent on making Crowley a racist that you're seeing a bogeyman where there isn't one. He wouldn't write "2 blacks..." for the sake of obfuscation. You sound paranoid.
USArgos 2 years ago
That is precisely what I meant to convey. You are the only one hell-bent on painting anyone who questions Crowley's motivation as a racist. I can't possibly know if he is or is not truly a racist. A rogue is not by definition a racist, but he is dishonest and that is the only label I have given him. My mind is not hate filled because I do not see this issue as you do nor is this about me as you would make it. Crowley arrested Gates not me. If I am racist, what race am I? You can't possibly know?
Talkingskins21 2 years ago
If that's what you meant to convey, then you don't know what the words "between" and "obfuscation" mean. You used them wrongly, and thus prevent considerate communication between us. But that's ok--I'm used to having to decipher poor logic from people like you.
And never did I say that to question Crowley's motivation means that you are racist. Don't put words in my mouth. I said that YOU make racist comments like the "...imperative" claim. B/c of that, by implication you paint Crowley so.
USArgos 2 years ago
Far be it from to put words in your mouth even though this excerpt is from your first reply to my post: "But, then again, for people who want to see racism in everything the police do, nothing will educate their hate-filled minds." Surely you're not implying that I am racist and/or hate filled. My (...imperative) comment is not racist as you claim, it speaks solely to Crowley's investigative zeal as I stated. You're the one claiming racism vis-à-vis my comment. Your assertion is bunk.
Talkingskins21 2 years ago
From your post that garnered my quote you cite, this is what you said and to which I was responding: "I never believed this was a racial thing initially but now I'm not so sure."
Honestly, you just don't know when to quit, do you?
USArgos 2 years ago
The words "..not so sure" do not definitively illustrate my position. They do, however, imply (your favorite term) that race could be a motivating factor. Therefore, the unsubstantiated allegations of racism and being hate filled are only in your imagination. Honestly, the level of intellectual chicanery on your part is pathetic at best. I have no reason to quit because the substance of my argument is still holding water, filthy dog.
Talkingskins21 2 years ago

Talkingskins21 2 years ago
"Where do you get that dispatch makes no reference to race?" Talkingskins, one cannot prove a negative. I'm logical enough to know that, but the same cannot be said of you.
"Why would Whalen tell Crowley something she could not confirm to the 911 operator?" I'm not Sgt Crowley, so this is supposition: it is not out of the realm of possibility that while waiting for the officer to arrive, she was able to glimpse the two men walking to the porch to retrieve the suitcases, seeing their race.
USArgos 2 years ago
"Once there, a bystander tells him further descriptions." It wasn't just any bystander either. Crowley's report said Whalen (911 caller) informed him of 2 black men with backpacks. Playing loose with the facts is what you've been accusing others of doing along with a plethora of acerbic commentary. Yet, you're just as guilty as those you've verbally assaulted. Look into transactional analysis. I believe it could really help you out.

A lie!

Question is - has that ole' eminent African American Harvard professor learned anything about dealing with authority?
Don't think Crowley GAS about whether "Afirmative Action Louie" was a notabable black scholar &/or buddy of the POTUS.
All Crowley was influenced by was Louie's "disrespecting" the Cambridge police's legitimate authority to investigate a potential B&E.
Bet next time Louie STFU's and presents pictorial ID (not his library card) when asked by the investigating officer.

Obviously the women is scared therefore she got a LAWYER TO SPEAK FOR HER. As an attorny I too would use this 911 call to end this barns & bailey circuit.

"As I reached the door [of Gates' house] a female voice called out to me." She "told me that it was she who called. She went on to tell me that she observed what appeared to be two black males with backpacks on the porch of 17 Ware Street."
Now do you get it?

Why is it that on every comment that opposes urs, u claim they are racist , hateful or angry. THATS THE STEREOTYPE THAT PEOPLE OF COLOR ARE SICK OF HEARING, THATS THE PROFILE THAT THE POLICE USE. And quoting the cops report is not the bible, there were 2 sides and the cop could be lying he already lied about the 911 call.
sguardian870 2 years ago
First of all, you don't speak for all people of color, sguardian, so for you to speak in generalities such as "THATS THE STEREOTYPE THAT PEOPLE OF COLOR ARE SICK OF HEARING", shows your prejudice.
For every person of color you may know who are "sick of hearing" about charges of black racism, I know of at least another person of color who knows that black racism exists, and sees it in professor Henry Gates' actions, as well as in people like you who type in caps and use foul language.

Crowley lied in his report, he said the witness said they were two black males which the witness vehemently denies and the call shows evidence in her favor.
