I made a list of negotiables (height/weight proportionate, wants pets, etc.) and a list of non-negotiables (can't smoke or drink, no dope, has to have an education, Christian, involved with church, etc) and God provided for me exactly what I was looking for and exactly what He knew I needed.
Never co-sign or mix finances with a woman, no marriage, avoid long distance relationships, watch the youtube video alimony: a lottery, don't live together, listen to tom leykis(youtube), watch out for marriage fraud from illegal immigrants, no single moms with kids at home, learn to pass the check, avoid women in debt with no job/car, meet up at free places/parks/cafe/bookstore, avoid high drama women that demand to be spoiled, invest in a good education, be less interested in her, stay single.
Attraction is so much for than just physically hot. It's like what he describes. That's my hubby for me:) Spent many years trying to reject the fact that we were meant for each other because of commitments and differences, but wow he is just like gravity to me. It doesn't mean you aren't attracted to others or find other people interesting, but no one holds a candle to him. :)

We know Mark´s love for his wife, he´s very public about that, but there is no relationship as perfect as Christ has with his church. That´s what every women should desire.
I try to love my wife as Jesus loves us, but being only a man I fail miserably at that, and that´s why even if in your gracious eyes I am a good spouse, the one you should be looking at as an example is Jesus´s.
I'm thankful that this has been so easy and black & white for Mark, but it's not that easy for everyone. i'm in trouble. i need help right now. there was a girl i had dated just a few times. She and her baby were evicted, she was out of a job with no where to go so i let her come live with me. I just am not feeling it. I know it seems bad to live with someone, its hard to break up when she lives there. what can i do?
@happyguync do not marry someone you do not love out of obligation or because its the "christian" thing to do. Tell her she needs to get herself together and find her own place because living in that situation first of all is not a good witness whether or not you guys are having sex. Regarding "Obesity" first of all... I know of many woman who do not swell up to massive proportions over the course of their marriage... and if they do... aside from how I would feel about her appearance... @slyer72 Your right, this isn't Cor 13 as that chapter isn't about marriage... Try 1 Cor 7 or Matt 19. Both Paul and Christ point out the obvious. Marriage is primarily about sex. Sex after all sex is the one think we can't do outside of marriage biblically. I'll assume your already know having children is generally the result of sex. Sex particularly for men begins with physical attraction. Men don't need to marry women to "love" them.
In the Kingdom, the Father arranges the marriages of His children. He will, if you let Him. If He does the choosing, when it gets difficult, then you know it is for your growth. If you do the choosing, you will regret it. Most people choose a mate based upon one or a combination of criteria: 1) the lust of the flesh, 2) the lust of the eyes, 3) the pride of life. The purpose of a Kingdom marriage is the propagation of the Kingdom.
The main issue with this idea is a) Charm is decietful and beauty is vain, so the physical package is unreliable, it changes, and b) what about the person who in their childhood was horribly burned. what about the person who had bad reconstructive surgery. what about the person who physically is just not attractive, but loves Jesus? A person's relationship with Christ should be the primary box of crayons coloring your attraction to that person. Jesus can alter the way you look to other people.
We don't know each other, but I wonder why you openly question the widom of Proverbs. What I said follows scriptural wisdom and is shown, in biblical couples, to play out better than those relationships entered because of physical attraction (compare Jacob and Rachel to Boaz and Ruth). Regarding "Obesity" first of all... I know of many woman who do not swell up to massive proportions over the course of their marriage... and if they do... aside from how I would feel about her appearance... I would encourage the woman to lose weight for health's sake... because when she gets up in age and she's still gaining pounds, that is gonna spell out a lot of problems... idk why people in America seem to worry so much more about appearance when it comes to weight more than health.

1. Physical attraction is primarily a problem for one reason, OBESITY! And it's especially a problem with women. Go ahead, make all the excuses you want for yourself but there is no good reason why 66% are overweight and over half qualify medically as obese.
2. In the unlikely event a man can actually find a reasonably attractive woman to marry, good luck. In the few years after a marriage the average woman in the US gains nearly 40 pounds.

Being overweight or obese (whilst being a very real issue in developed countries) doesn't necessarily mean that a person is unattractive to everyone, particularly if they have many great qualities otherwise. Then again, it's probably a good thing that you have such a dire outlook on marriage prospects since you clearly have a lot of growing up to do before you will be fit to love a woman in God's eyes. Sex after all sex is the one think we can't do outside of marriage biblically. I'll assume your already know having children is generally the result of sex. Sex particularly for men begins with physical attraction. Men don't need to marry women to "love" them.

The main issue with this idea is a) Charm is decietful and beauty is vain, so the physical package is unreliable, it changes, and b) what about the person who in their childhood was horribly burned. what about the person who had bad reconstructive surgery. what about the person who physically is just not attractive, but loves Jesus? A person's relationship with Christ should be the primary box of crayons coloring your attraction to that person. Jesus can alter the way you look to other people.

Matthew 28:1-3 says After the Sabbath, Mary magdeline along with Mary mother of YAHUSHUA went down to the tomb at dawn on the first day of the week and when they arrived they saw that the stone was already rolled away. In no way did it say YAHUSHUA arose on the first day of the week, it says the Mary's went at the first day of the week. It makes more sense that YAHUSHUA arose on the Sabbath and when they went down at dawn on Sunday he wasn't there
