It's getting cheaper and cheaper to make music. Like, so cheap. ES a prime example of a band that survived without a label, and without putting in measures to 'beat' piracy.

In 15 years, everyone will be able to record an album with incredible ease and inexpense.

Not everyone makes music just to make money, by the way.

@HolyoakeD Pretty sure I do know what I'm talking about considering I'm at music college right now studying the music industry.

It's not getting cheaper at all - studio prices are rising - engineers are more expensive, producers are more expensive.

You don't need a label to get anywhere, ES have done everything them selves and the only reason they have survived is because they get 100% of the profits.

@monkey112008 If you learn pro tools or logic you can produce music, but doing a good job of it is a different story, you could do it all from your bedroom if you really wanted to, I know people that have. I've recorded in studios with bands, I know how it works as I said I'm at music college doing exactly that.
