I'm a big Floyd guy but i really wanna get this to compliment it on different guitars because of the no modification. And, if you know what your doing and arent braindead, it doesnt take any more than 10min to do a full string change. less if you only need 1 string. I took out an old floyd, put in a new one, inotated it, and had it set up to a different string guage and tuning in 45 min. it's not that big of a deal
To me, the biggest issue with the Floyd is whenever you break a string...it takes three hours to get one back on, and you have to re-calibrate the whole thing, and all this bullshit, but it looks like it's fairly simple to re-string a Super-Vee. The other thing is, if you don't get a real-deal Original Floyd, it'll be a piece of shit. If you need pull up that bad, learn to bend strings.
I have a question - If this thing is so great why is he not demonstrating it live instead of using recorded samples?? Could it be because it doesn't stay in tune as well as advertisesd? Makes me suspicious.
my strat has a jackson neck on it with a floyd locking nut already on it, i am looking for a BLACK super vee if one exsists and i want it in england (i havnt been able to find one on the web) any help?
Generally, to keep the bridge low while still allowing for upwards bends on the whammy bar, some wood is carved out from under the back of the bridge. This is normal for most Floyd Rose-equipped guitars, and I believe Jeff Beck has it on his Strats. It isn't a big deal, but it does require that the paint job be touched up a bit. Someone who knows their way around a few woodworking tools could probably do it in an afternoon if they're careful. Measure twice, cut once and all that.
@wparks just remember "buddy," with out floyd rose you would have no super-v. And, please post a video comparing the two if you really want to talk :) im sure that if it
@zachsara7 Id say stick with a floyd if you want max vibrato pull up (sharp to a 4th) and you dont want to sell your guitar, due to te modifications on the body with the custom routing and locking nut. the supervee isnt that bad, but you cant do the pull-up thing too much. Its just the best replacement system for that crappy synching trem on the strat thats quite useless and cant go beyond the human hands capability of vibrato. I got it and installed it and it isnt as good as a floyd.
@whitelotus808 but its way better than the standard trem. You still have to lick the strings down and cut the ball ends and such, but still...for the money and not effort and time, just get a good licensed floyd and have it routed at a wood shop with the correct template and have a tech install the system and nut and have it set up. itll require a shim in the neck, but a good tech will get it done in a day. so if you dont mind waiting then get the floyd.
@whitelotus808 otherwise, its great. its like a floyd or a kahler with the action and never goes out of tune. but when the total price is over 300$ for the kit and instilation, youd might as well get the other one like I said. anyway, id like to see a side by side comparison between the supervee and the floyd. itll be nice to see somebody compare the two who isnt totally biased. You gotta give the guy some credit though for going through the trouble of doing this review.

@wparks play a chord after you shred it... i want to know if it stays in tune... also i want to see you play it... not a backdrop with a picture slide show. for all i know you playing a floyd hahaha
I really like what you can do with the tremolo, but I'm not too crazy about the nut lol There probably is no other alternative though...I'm sure it's a good system, but it kind of messes with the traditional strat look. Idk, maybe in the future I'll buy another strat and put it on that one. What are your opinions on the look and feel of it?
I'm curious as to its durability and if it works well if you play without the plate that covers the springs in the back? i've heard of one guy who said there was an issue with his height adjustment screws and if im really about to shove 350+ dollars on this i'd want to know more than how it is once you put it in. that and why is eric johnson advertised as a user of their product but i havent seen a live video of him using it?
Tony, thanks for all the great energy and sharing, one note of awareness, work on the Audio Quality - I have to Max the Volume to hear you very well. Just a heads up, Peace
Thanks Tony, this is the best demo on the super vee i have been hesitant for the past couple of months but you definently changed my mind thanks! But you can pull off like Satch Screams with this tremolo right? i thought i heard that in the sound samples

i like the look of the trem on a strat it makes it look very heavy metal
panoramicsyndrome 2 years ago
just making sure: this trem can bend back and fourth, right?
not just down like normal strat trems?
KRAZYxPEOPLE 2 years ago
Yeah, its both a floating and flat trem.
XAlphaZEROX 2 years ago
you can put it in floating mode, but then the action gets higher. I havnt figure out how to manage that leak.

Change the angle on the neck. Either shim it or if it has a angle set screw, use that.

Dear Sean2112bd, maybe you like the look of drilling holes in your neck for that industrial exposed nut Floyd Rose crap, eh?
