Consider everytime you view a video, a database update must already be made to record your view. So every single person viewing makes an entry. Selecting from a database is a resource intensive process, especially for popular videos which may be getting new connections every second and requires a second db request.

If he's betting on collapse, then he'd better not also own something that will lose value. The only way we can honestly charge conflict of interest is by finding that Cantor stands to profit from collapse. The short-against-America thing could be just more political maneuvering. Note above (as of July 14 at 8:55 pm Eastern), there are 340 "likes" for this video, yet it indicates only 301 views. Consider everytime you view a video, a database update must already be made to record your view. So every single person viewing makes an entry. Selecting from a database is a resource intensive process, especially for popular videos which may be getting new connections every second and requires a second db request.

Well if the video is popular, by the time it makes its final selection to store in the cache for quick access, at least 1 more view will have been recorded on a popular video.
