tudo isso é muito, uso trackto r3 com um controlador, mas temos que tomar cuido, usar a tecnologia pra aprimorar, do jeito que está indo daqui a pouco inventaram um software pra substituir o dj.
This is to all haters of controllers and software dj's.....Firstly I learned to dj on vinyl when i was 15 and yeah it was good but you should never rule things out from adding to your set.
Glorified iPod? Really? Then you're a glorified Phonograph, dude. Straight up.
it's 2010, man. People can make ridiculously amazing sets LIVE by using software. gives a whole new meaning to live dj sets... don't get me wrong, I got nothing against with what you do. ... get off your high horse and just accept that whether you're rocking software with a midi controller, software with time-coded records(digital) or real-ass analog records, it's the imagination of the person behind the laptop/turnT
@siberiankyss I have nothin against software. I'm a hugh fan of Serato!! Love it more then anything else. But when you take the actual mixing with your hands out of the equation. Then whats the point? It no longer becomes an art form. If you switch to virtual synth instead of an analog one you still have to play the notes. Yes technology is good, helps you get better and become more elaborate. But when technology infringes on skill and creativity, that's what I have the problem with
@glict but who said it infringes on skill and creativity?!?! Duuuuude, there are amazing artists who dj or do live sets with Ableton Live and they have a full range of expression and creativity!!! If a person had two decks, but only match tempos and then cross-fade..well...that sucks. You can scratch a record and implement various techniques to spice-up a set... with a midi controller you can slap on a bit crusher or flanger and, with your hands, twist knobs/faders that control the FX parameters
@glict just don't be so quick to judge and assume that if you ain't got turntables, then your set is gonna blow... hate to "sound" like a broken record(pun intended) but it's about the person using the turntables or the midi controller... it's all about love.. com'oooon. ;)
@siberiankyss Your missing the point. Yes you can make a dope set, that is totally flawless. But there lacks the soul of the dj. Where's the years of practice? Where's the skill in this type of "DJ" and I use that term very loosely for these guys. They aren't djs. Anybody can put together a playlist hit sync and that's it. Not everybody can put the hands on the tables and practice enough to actually make it flawless
@glict I'm gettin' you, man...but not everybody can buy an Akai MPD32 or Akai APC40 with Ableton and start making prolific-sounding shit, man... it takes practice and imagination to make epic-sounding sets. Just like turntable-ism.
Look at most popular European DJ's. All they do is sync up cdj's and screw around with EQ's(mainly cutting in and out the bass). More can be done with a midi controller and VirtualDJ!! like, c'moon! Be open to understanding, man!
@glict you sound like youre just annoyed that it took you years to master beatmatching and now there are options that do it for you. Just like the kind of person that bothered to learn HTML then got pissed when Dreamweaver came out.
@mytoboggan The thing is, Traktor's auto sync won't always be there for you. I learned to beatmatch the classic way but now I use traktor's sync features to free up time to do more fancy stuff.
@glict I learned on tables myself but definitely have learned to love sets with midi controllers as there are things you can't do with tables. You can argue that it is not "DJ-ing" anymore as there are no discs involved, but to argue this strips it of any creativity is a flimsy, unsubstantiated statement.
Hi I just starrted djing 2 months ago and I can already mix 2 songs. I just hit sinc button and watch the lines to make sure they match up. Come in on the chorus of the song playing, stay on them for 4-8 counts and come in when the verse of the new song some in where the old verse off the first mp3 was supose to be. Its easy now I am a Wedding dj making $1000=$1200 for 4 hours booked everyweek.
you`ll need an audio interface like audio4dj/audio8dj, but I think Numark ttusb doesn`t have direct drive so you`ll probably have some delay while scratching...
@vjcovo : You can, just need timecode vinyl and you should be alright to go. But i dont use vinyl with Tracktor i use a controller so i'm not 100% sure
what are you saying its bullshit for?? of course you can use 8 decks if you have two traktor's, 4 decks on each traktor. it doesnt mean you are mixing 8 different tracks, other decks are for loops and stuff, pretty impressive if you ask me. you must not know alot about it so stop dissing when you dont know.
Hey I have a question mann. Im trying to set up a DJ studio for myself along with my prodution studio so I'll need Traktor Scratch too since I have a certified DJ mixer for it. You could sync music on traktor by ear or have the computer sync the music for you. Your choice.
I have traktor3 and it has 4 decks. If I play 3-4 decks at a time I have the software sync the music.
project122 4 years ago
can somebody tell me ,that uses traktor,,,do u have to use your ear most of the time to sync, or will it do it for you and do you have to use beat grids to sync them.i have 3 le and cant find beat grid

You have to use your ears mainly...I've been mixing for 2 years daily with traktor 3...Even if its sync'd it may not sound perfect if it is untimed..

that's true. i dont like how it syncs everything. even if beatgridded.
