  • Traktor is where it's at rite now..I've used vinyls old style denon rack CDs without bpm counters..and all that stuff..all these ppl complaining have no clue! You don't still use VCRs with VHS tapes..do u? CDs are almost obsolete..who wants to bring out crates of vinyl or books of CDs out to gigs and damage them and scratch them..etc..and fumble around between them..so 90s..this is the future..and with a good controller like an s4 the sky's the limit..and u can still notice the difference of so

  • @MrJonesgg yea to DJ traktor is where its at but vinyls are still good for production in an anolog sampling sense the quality is so amazing

  • I want to know the song at 1:24 !!

  • 1:50 rapist smile!!!!

  • Shame they dont make the lemurs anymore ://

  • @cliffjumper1977 They we're/are cool. But iPads to everything they did and more, for a fraction of the price!

  • In the end, I want to groove and surf on sinewaves. I don't care if the DJ has hamsters on spinning wheels playing the tracks.

  • CUT the basssss lol

  • On 1:50 he got this unatural rape face on :(

  • 1:54---> chris looks like the devil :P

  • i need help!!! i use traktor dj studio 3. dont know how to get headphones to work to preview anyone know how?

  • This is to all haters of controllers and software dj's.....Firstly I learned to dj on vinyl when i was 15 and yeah it was good but you should never rule things out from adding to your set.

  • chris is so hooottt

  • Ohhh my god! his hands :D

  • read the other thing i wrote, same here. we're agreeing. all love.

  • This is why I have no respect for electronic djs. USE A MOTHERFUCKIN TURNTABLE!!! Otherwise your a glorified IPOD!!!

  • Glorified iPod? Really? Then you're a glorified Phonograph, dude. Straight up.

it's 2010, man. People can make ridiculously amazing sets LIVE by using software. gives a whole new meaning to live dj sets... don't get me wrong, I got nothing against with what you do. ... get off your high horse and just accept that whether you're rocking software with a midi controller, software with time-coded records(digital) or real-ass analog records, it's the imagination of the person behind the laptop/turnT

  • @siberiankyss I have nothin against software. I'm a hugh fan of Serato!! Love it more then anything else. But when you take the actual mixing with your hands out of the equation. Then whats the point? It no longer becomes an art form. If you switch to virtual synth instead of an analog one you still have to play the notes. Yes technology is good, helps you get better and become more elaborate. But when technology infringes on skill and creativity, that's what I have the problem with

  • @glict but who said it infringes on skill and creativity?!?! Duuuuude, there are amazing artists who dj or do live sets with Ableton Live and they have a full range of expression and creativity!!! If a person had two decks, but only match tempos and then cross-fade..well...that sucks. You can scratch a record and implement various techniques to spice-up a set... with a midi controller you can slap on a bit crusher or flanger and, with your hands, twist knobs/faders that control the FX parameters

  • @glict just don't be so quick to judge and assume that if you ain't got turntables, then your set is gonna blow... hate to "sound" like a broken record(pun intended) but it's about the person using the turntables or the midi controller... it's all about love.. com'oooon. ;)

  • @siberiankyss Your missing the point. Yes you can make a dope set, that is totally flawless. But there lacks the soul of the dj. Where's the years of practice? Where's the skill in this type of "DJ" and I use that term very loosely for these guys. They aren't djs. Anybody can put together a playlist hit sync and that's it. Not everybody can put the hands on the tables and practice enough to actually make it flawless

  • @glict I'm gettin' you, man...but not everybody can buy an Akai MPD32 or Akai APC40 with Ableton and start making prolific-sounding shit, man... it takes practice and imagination to make epic-sounding sets. Just like turntable-ism.

Look at most popular European DJ's. All they do is sync up cdj's and screw around with EQ's(mainly cutting in and out the bass). More can be done with a midi controller and VirtualDJ!! like, c'moon! Be open to understanding, man!

  • @glict you sound like youre just annoyed that it took you years to master beatmatching and now there are options that do it for you. Just like the kind of person that bothered to learn HTML then got pissed when Dreamweaver came out.

  • @mytoboggan The thing is, Traktor's auto sync won't always be there for you. I learned to beatmatch the classic way but now I use traktor's sync features to free up time to do more fancy stuff.

  • @glict I learned on tables myself but definitely have learned to love sets with midi controllers as there are things you can't do with tables. You can argue that it is not "DJ-ing" anymore as there are no discs involved, but to argue this strips it of any creativity is a flimsy, unsubstantiated statement.

  • we ve all been doin it for a long time and it makes the dj more of a musician...........

unfortunately sppedy j and chris liebing were really late to start with this scene watch loco dice stuff. you have to have good music to start with

  • were did u buy turntables for traktor

  • @geniousdeeson You buy indexed vinyl or CDs and an audio interface and use your own turntables and CD player.

  • what headphones does speedy j have? pleeeease can someone tell me

  • @OnCall101Villa He uses the Sony MDR V 700 , Chris Liebing the Sennheiser HD 25

  • @chrisliebing2 thank you

  • Track ID anyone? heard it in a Josh Wink set as well

  • @themossinator: levon vincent - air raid

  • Hi I just starrted djing 2 months ago and I can already mix 2 songs. I just hit sinc button and watch the lines to make sure they match up. Come in on the chorus of the song playing, stay on them for 4-8 counts and come in when the verse of the new song some in where the old verse off the first mp3 was supose to be. Its easy now I am a Wedding dj making $1000=$1200 for 4 hours booked everyweek.

  • mk2 mk3 mk 5 and so on...with that u can't go wrong

  • DOes anyone knows if you need any specific turntable, because i have a couple numark tt usb and I really don´t know if it fit with this

  • you`ll need an audio interface like audio4dj/audio8dj, but I think Numark ttusb doesn`t have direct drive so you`ll probably have some delay while scratching...

  • i have an audio dj 8, what turntables would you recomend me ¿

  • any of the technics

  • @vjcovo the only thing you need ar the Native Instruments Timecode Vinyls

  • i have ttx's and it workd fine, any table should work fine as far as i know.

  • @vjcovo : You can, just need timecode vinyl and you should be alright to go. But i dont use vinyl with Tracktor i use a controller so i'm not 100% sure

  • @vjcovo no you dont need specific turntables as long as you have rca plug ins you can send them to the trak box which then goes to your computer

  • @bassalthetime yeah, and traktor has nothing to do with turntables at all. right! ahm.. wait...

  • i have a problem with my traktor scratch pro, whenever i open the program it doesn't save my preferences.. how do i solve this?tnx

  • export your settings (bottom right corner in the preferences) and load that everytime you use them. but most of the setting should save

  • its a jazz mutant lemur. and whoever gave the minus one to the guy who got it right before is a dumbass.

  • yeah i want it aswell, some1 please!!!!

  • i think those were on the fly tracks, as in created right then and there, not released

  • Ive just ordered the new tractor scratch duo and it should go nicely with my xone 3d!

  • what are you saying its bullshit for?? of course you can use 8 decks if you have two traktor's, 4 decks on each traktor. it doesnt mean you are mixing 8 different tracks, other decks are for loops and stuff, pretty impressive if you ask me. you must not know alot about it so stop dissing when you dont know.

  • cheak out dj shadows the hard sell, he used 8 turntables, no computers, all original 45s - amazing!

  • Traktor rules:)

  • does this program automatically blend in song to song that you wish to play.

  • Yes of course, only thing you have to do is creating a playlist and wave your arms behind your mixer and perform a good show...noob

    OF COURSE IT DOES NOT

  • SWEAT

  • its a lemur i wish i had 1

  • Hey I have a question mann. Im trying to set up a DJ studio for myself along with my prodution studio so I'll need Traktor Scratch too since I have a certified DJ mixer for it. Only thing is I have 1 PC monitor. Do you think I'd have to buy a 2ND monitor for the traktor scratch program? Because I have my DJ studio set up 5 to 6 feet away perpendicular from my main production setup (so all I have to do when im djing is turn my head to the right to see the monitor. I just can't reach the mouse..

  • You will only use 1 computer program, either Traktor DJ Studio or Traktor Scratch (or any other program). Imo, don't buy a 2nd monitor but re-organise your studio

  • dual monitors are the shit, dunno why you wouldnt want one to incorporate into your setup anyways. sounds like you need to rethink your setup though if you cant reach everything from one place.

  • hmm....you right man..thanks for taking the time to reply! i'll try to see what i can do...im thinkin its just best i get a separate laptop

  • ya thatll work, just get a nice stand for it that will mount it above your decks. looks mighty sexy, and functional! i see them in everyones bedroom studios.

  • What's the name of the very last track?

  • the first guy that is

  • it looks like the lemur controller

  • what kind of controler is Kabuki using?

  • i think its a xone 3d

  • That thing is awesome

  • not like anything you could buy just for few bucks

  • jazzmutant lemur, speedy j is using the xone i think

  • Yup its a lemur

  • Question ,,, i know how to mix on traktor,,but can you sync traktor with drum machines ,,would traktor be the main midi clock ,, how do you set this up

  • Pff...House-Hochburg. Hier wurde generell TECHNO bzw. elektronische Musik perfektioniert, wenn nicht sogar letzten Endes komplett definiert. Man denke mal an Kraftwerk

  • deuschland lost the war

  • jajajajaja

  • Oh aye yeah fucking awesome mate...

  • so right.

    great tips

  • ERMAC4482

You could sync music on traktor by ear or have the computer sync the music for you. Your choice.

I have traktor3 and it has 4 decks. If I play 3-4 decks at a time I have the software sync the music.

  • can somebody tell me ,that uses traktor,,,do u have to use your ear most of the time to sync, or will it do it for you and do you have to use beat grids to sync them.i have 3 le and cant find beat grid

  • You have to use your ears mainly...I've been mixing for 2 years daily with traktor 3...Even if its sync'd it may not sound perfect if it is untimed..

  • that's true. i dont like how it syncs everything. even if beatgridded.

well maybe i need to get more practice, but there's no better thing that warping in ableton live

any ideas of how to correct pitch fluctuations in a track?

  • buy legal music..

  • what about tracks legally buyed that have pitch fluctuations, because they change its bpm in breakdowns?

what about if i have thousands of vinyls and want to rip them to my computer? i thought it was legal..

  • You rigth dude... I buy all my music from beatport and lot of them are just crap! With noise, pitch fluctuations, bad mastering etc...

  • the low quality and SHORT samples are really tricky. make you buy a lot of crap

  • wtf controller was he usin???

  • the first guy is using a jazzmutant dexter and the second guy is using a allen and heath zone 3d

  • cute

  • really really nice!

  • taktor rocks
