  • Found this on stumbleupon (but not directly)

  • @misterbobisme ME TOO! :P

  • @misterbobisme Same!

  • great work!

  • i want to make one! can you do it with paper?

  • how long is the strip of paper?

  • @taydertott2

it doesn't matter about the length as long as it's quite long...

    (it doesn't make a difference)

  • i always press it in a little off center

  • Aw, I'm disappointed. This person goes too fast and doesn't explain the steps. I'll have to try another video :/ Cute star, though.

  • i thought it is harder to make origami star but its so simle!! thanks for video :]

  • wow...very nyc...impressive

  • Nice video, I'm using the stars to make a mobile over my bed.

  • La verdad que no entendi, no se muesta bien como hacerlas :S

  • @kastner Thank you for this video. When i make stars they tend to have a dent in one side. Could you help me to avoid this? Is it how i hold them when making the dent? Thanks again! I have 4 stars so far :)

  • I madee 750 stars of many colors and 419 for a christmas tree that i did on my school... soo relaxing to do it !!

I love your sparkling paper for that star!

  • I CANT PUFF IT! :(

  • I love these things. I got a Klutz kit with these things. :D

  • it is preety good

  • Aww.. How cute!

  • Thank You very much kastner-Your video helped me make even better use of my glitter paper strips-I'm happy! Thanks again :)

  • what kind of ribbon should i use?

  • @monicapaula60 you can use anykind of paper

  • Curse you Tom, the video moved too fast for my little brain to keep up.

  • I guess a lot of people found this thanks to Tom Siddell, but I really appreciat kastner for showing how to make origami stars. ^-^ The music was interesting as well.

  • Tom sent me here. :-)

  • @FaeSilverleaf

    lol same here

  • How cute <3

  • xD Tom sent me here too. Gunnerkrigg court ftw.

  • would be better if your fingers weren't in the way

  • What are the dimensions of the paper? I want to make these but there is no way I'm paying for special paper.

  • You're so slow! It would take you a lot longer than 6 weeks to fold an entire goldfish bowls worth!

    only jokin

  • Tom is win.

  • Tom sent me here..

  • Me too! Wow.

  • @metheflee So many views because of him.

  • @metheflee

    Me too.

  • @metheflee I as well.

  • @metheflee lol :D Tom is the best!

  • @thk12205 I thumbs-downed this by accident and can't figure out how to undo it. It should even be a thumbs up, if anything. I'm sorry u__u

  • yay it worked!! this is cool

  • Wow, cool! Do you have a link to the instructions?

  • Haha, i tried at least 10 times before i could make it! it didn't turn out GREAT but, it's a star :D

  • I did it (=. But it didnt came as great.

BTW what kind of paper is that one being used in the video? Its really cute

  • Wow, that's really cute ^^

what's the name of the song?

  • What dimensions do you use for the paper?

  • I've made eight hundred so far :) I cut the strips of paper out of magazines hehe

I'm going to try and fold the last thousand over break ^_^

  • Nice video, and great song. I already knew how to fold an origami star -- but you introduced me to a band I'd never heard of, and I just went out and bought the CD. Thanks!

  • cool

  • weee! i made one. not perfect but good enough :]

  • FOR SOME REASON I CANT DO IT

  • ha, great (:

    keep on trying.. :P

  • Neither can i! I feel retarded. I can do the straw ones but not these.

  • it's like easily... but i think it's not easily... but uhh i have the paper! xD

  • fuck i think i finally figured this shit out..

still makes my brain hurt tho..

    O.o

  • COOOL!!!

    IS GOOD

  • Cutee

  • Mine always end up smushed on one side. What am I doing wrong? D=

  • You're most likely pressing/folding the sides down too hard in the first few steps, it causes the inside of the star to collapse, and you end up with on side that is bent inward. Otherwise, your nails aren't long enough, or the paper that you're using is too rough to handle. You should buy strips from ChinaTown called "Pastel Stars", the light see-through ones work perfectly.

  • Oh okay. I made about 120 and a third of them collapsed xP I'll try again ^^

  • That's really cool! =D

  • This is the cutest video ever. Perfect choice of song. :)

And now I know how to fold a star! I've been making knots in strips of paper for god knows how long, I never realised that's how you start off a star.

  • omg! im like the only one on youtube who does my star different than anybody else.

:( great star by the way

  • luv the star

  • amazing!

  • Very helpful.

I tried learning from a website and they wouldn't turn out.

    But this helped a lot.

    ^_^

  • awesome!! Is it easier with ribbon or paper?

  • paper

  • thats cool

  • awesome

  • Thnx :] But I've been using the actual thin origami star papers, like the one in your vid but they're REALLY thin. The pinching step seems to make it look like its been dented on one side and puffy on the other. Is there a way to make it puffy on both sides or is it just the type of paper I'm working with?

  • What I do in that case is I flatten it and try again. I hate it when that happens. It can also happen with thicker paper (I assume you mean how thick the paper is, not the thickness of the strip). Sometimes you just have to press it a certain way. Keep trying, it'll work eventually.

  • cool where u get those paper?

  • at japanese stores!

  • umm...i don't know where are japanese store is though :(

  • me neither, I just read it on a site xD

you can make them yourself with normal paper, 1 cm by 20 cm long!

  • i made 356 stars. (i counted)

  • lmao. u counted!

  • I don't care about the star... lol.. j/k.. that's why i came here.. but what song is that!?

  • i think its just called the JCB Song.....i think

  • Oh...Cute;) My love made me one little star just like that one...I`ll keep it for life lool

  • tis is hard i cant do it its confusing.:(

  • so cute! guy folding an origami star! hehe

  • yes i have my star!

  • I made a whole jam jar of it for a really really good friend. Its the very cutest present i ever gave to someone. Selfmade is always the best! ^^

  • wow that's kinda easy! my friend can make those but she never showed us how to... and she made these awsome, cute little pyramids out of tape and put beads or pictures inside! they were so cool... i probably have one somewhere... anyway i think she showed me once how to do that but... that was awhile ago!

  • love the paper! i nearly have a jam jar full of these ;] i used to work with 0.5cm strips but i couldn't draw my lines straight - so now i run my paper through a shredder (Y) GENIUS!
