I bought the iphone 4 with 4.1 already installed on it, when i go through your steps i get the itunes error 3002 instead of the one you said. is there a way to jailbreak iOS 4.1 without having an earlier software installed in the past? thx

dude, ultrasn0w does not work for iphone 4 firmware 4.1 unlock.

@maddehs It does, you just have to preserve the baseband. Just follow the instructions. I am using an iPhone 4 4.1 in India.
