Good fold! Why risk your whole stack on what at BEST is a coin flip and at worst you are crushed. Most of the AK's value comes from being the last aggressor because you can win it by getting everyone to fold and if you do get called most of the time it's going to be a coin flip!!
Yeah u guys are right Shulman is a donk..........2 main event final tables in the same decade, 4 cashes in the 25k WPT buy in...over 3 million in tournament earnings..........you guys are fucking ridiculous
That fold was 100% good. The best thing he can expect is a coinflip. And often his opponent will have KK+. He would never 3bet all in with AJ or AQ. His range is much tighter, like JJ+ and AK. AKs is a very strong hand but calling that 3bet would be pure gambling, and against KK+ he will be in really rough shape.
Good thing Shulman wasn't pot committed. I've had AK suited and happened to come against QQ. As I'd shoved half of my stack before the other guy went all-in (which was 200 chips), I was pot committed and had to call. I was just lucky to hit a K on the flop and hold. Otherwise AK is only a drawing/shoving hand and is overplayed by alot of players
It's not like he knew it was a coinflip, which he had no reason to commit to, anyway. There's also a chance he's up against KK or AA after being hit with an all-in re-raise, putting his odds of winning way down if that were the case. I don't blame him at all, AK is dangerous in that situation and probably not worth playing if it costs you your place at the table.
@kmcook01 AK is a drawing hand. It is the best drawing hand, but it is still a drawing hand. Unless Tamayo is shoving with AQ then he is at a coin flip for his main event life. You can't win the tournament by doubling up on a coin flip with 50 people left in the main event. Good laydown.
after five days of solid competition and superior play, its not hard to fold AK....I'm sure if anyone has ever called off at least 2-300 bucks preflop and bricked understands this play....especially when playing for millions....the rest of you are espn and play money junkies
Half his stack to knock out Tamayo. He know he's flipping but ffs. Gotta gamble here I think, unless he did put him on KK straight up. or AA i guess buttt he has blockers brah
depends on the blinds, sometimes in a tournament u need to gamble, coz u cant play conservative poker for a whole tournament just winning medium pots, u must double up, the blinds will make u gamble coz there is a deadline

AKs is one of the best poker hands. Learn to play poker idiot!
fattymcgee122 2 months ago
FUCK all of you who criticise AK fold you all are mostly DONKS.
QQ is favourite against AK so it's a good fold deep stack, even though QQ is just a slight favourite.
Look at all these donks who can't fold AK in tournament and end up making retarded youtube comments in poker ahahahah IDIOT.
That's not the problem though, the problem is they dont even realise it.

If Shulman calls and loses hed be shortstack with 1.750.000 chips, so why not fold and stay with 4.500.000, he went to the final table, so good fold.

i love this fold. why play so deep into a main event to play coin flip poker, he can outplay most after the flop.
pedriano999 1 year ago 25
@pedriano999
He can outplay most?.. Frankly speaking, I am not even sure how he is able to play profitable these days..
LAmoZzz 4 months ago
by the looks of the hands that people folded, he would've probably won the coin flip. always good to pick your spots tho nice fold
Araknophobik 1 year ago
That's not a difficult fold.. with tamayo's stack size he's gonna shove AK, AQ, JJ+
best scenario AQ, the rest is a flip or worse
britewired 1 year ago 12
@britewired he wouldnt shove AQ
DaRkCoRTeX 1 year ago
@DaRkCoRTeX yeah your right... i keep thinking in 6max strat...
britewired 1 year ago
@britewired and after 2 raises, it's pretty unlikely he's shoving as light as AQ...
jasminetomcat 9 months ago
@britewired Best scenario AK vs AK... i don't believe that guy would fourbet shove with AQ... over play AQ is so bad as overplay KJ..
vinikct 6 months ago
@britewired
He is 52% favourite againts that range, so its an easy call.
