hey big daddy....I was hoping i could get your email address so I can share some videos with you....and maybe you with me. I think we're both rockabilly fans and I got some funny/cool stuff and I'm always discovering new stuff on the "tube". Mine is yourbrotherbob@hotmail.com
I worked security for the "Bowery" in Okc back in the 80's and you guys gave me a tape after the show, sadly you played in the middle of the week, I would have loved to have seen you guy's tear the roof off on a Fri or Sat night, you guy's FUCKING ROCKED!
@gorillagillsrules I remember that show! I was very disappointed at the size of the crowd. That was in the middle of a 2 or 3 week tour of on-niters so it is a little blurry...LOL
nice cover of the most covered punk song ever!....like the lyle lovett look on frontman.......choo choo harp....rockabilly cramps kinda feel....as a matter of fact, I wish the cramps had covered this b4 lux passed. thanx/nice job guys!
@deanofranksammy It's interesting that you consider this a punk song. The original is Vince Taylor who was straight up rocakabilly and a big influence on Joe Strummer.
@deanofranksammy ok...im me now....ah...i came up with the clash version (im 52) and didnt know bout vince til now...but i'd say the clash did more to popularize it and inspired way more covers...especially british/european. i just watched all 150+ videos of this song available on the tube and more have the clash/punk vibe to them than straight rockabilly. wish the cramps had covered this...haha. wanna see sumpin funny?...check out the "strikes/brand new cadillac"--is karaoke night! rok on.
@deanofranksammy I just checked out the Strikes version. I was always bored to tears by bands covering songs "note for note"... The coolest thing is that I have the identical Danelectro "Convertible" that the lead guitar player is using. LOL
very cool indeed
