lol at H.R.'s dance, he's still got a bit of juice in him at times.
But this band is what all bands should be like: spreading your message while having a good time and playing GREAT music, that has defined Bad Brains and what I will always remember them as.

man its really sad watching them when they were in there prime and watching them now. Fuck that crowd is dead, and HR lost his good punk voice along with stage presence. Still They are older men now and the fact that they still play their music is amazing. The bad brains are the fucking best and the fathers of hardcore so long live em.
I was at this show and I've seen them about 10 times now since the 80's, including with Isreal on vocals and even one night with Rick Skatore of the 24-7 Spyz filling in on bass.
The new album is stupendous and the gigs we attended were totally ferocious. Try actually going to see them these days in a packed club and you'll see that it's every bit as intense as ever.
It's about music, passion, soul and ferocity, not about jumping around like twits. Bad Brains Are The Godhead.
Listen from :08 to :15 again and tell me I'm wrong. I love Brains, saw them here and at Asbury Park this summer. H.R. is completley out of it though. I would be okay if he ran around stage like a madman and sang horribly, or if he screamed just like he used to while staying in one place, but this is just sad.
@microwavefishsticks - You're a complete douche. Very few bands have been around as long as they have and are still viable. Try doing as many drugs as HR and see if you don't act a little nutty......fagknuckle.
my thoughts exactly. i love the bad brains and i like the new album but it can never ever touch 'rock for light' for example. the singing lacks the insane energy and originality from the old days but indeed you can't blame the man. too bad i wasn't around to see 'em in the 80ties, though :-)
I got to see them during the Quickness tourin 1989/90 and in '95 when they toured with the Deftones, and then in 99 when they toured as the soul brains, at least the Quickness tour rocked but every tour after that has lacked the energy of the 79-83 tours had. Quickness ruled though
lucky bastard. theyre cmong to brussels to promote the new cd but when i see all these recent clips i'm spending my money on something else. time to spin the live at cbgb's-dvd again. i guess you saw 'em on the tour of wich there are 2 clips here. just type bad brains and holland. guess that's the quickness-tour. enough energy there! cheerio!
Its probably hot like a mug out there, besides my singer cant remember all the lyrics to a song from practice to practice. HR probably meant to do this. That sucka's raw!
Like Ali in his comeback fights, the BAD BRAINS are flabby and on the ropes. There was a time when this band was untouchable. Now, they charge money and parade their mental singer around. Deeply sad.
damn dude..I could not have said this any better. Well put. Good band..at one and point and time. This stuff right here is a sad attempt. Sorry brothas but u shoulda kept it hung up.
their not the same as they used to be but that is expected since their getting older

I think it would be cool if some 16 year old kids went up and tackled HR and yelled Bad Brains fuckin suck. That would be punk rock.
microwavefishsticks 4 years ago
How about you shut up. That would be dandy!

the guys were/still punks before/after many of us were alive!!!!! that to begin!!! besides they contrubited in a HUGE ammount to punk music and
influenced a HUGE part of the subsequent bands and punks. so perhaps you need to ask yourself what do you do before opening the big mouth
to spread these crap all over.

a band can't be active for soo looong and make 10 records in which
all tracks sound like "attitude" or "supertouch" or "i against i" because being creative and needing to
innovate and experiment with new things is precisely the way an artist works. there's no sense
to repeat the same shit over and over... (and worse if it's to keep the exquisite, demanding 'fans' happy)
tofuCKYOU 4 years ago
it suppose punks do and act the way they figure out for themselves and not for the others... if someone wants to stick forks
up his/her ass on stage and he/she didn't before, let 'em do it. GO LISTEN TO THE REGULATOR !
FACE THE FACTS! and give the guys a break for fucks sake.
tofuCKYOU 4 years ago 2
otherwise step up a stage, make music for 30 consecutive years, try to record 10 albums
with the same sound and achieve something!
keep making backflips, don't change your personality in any way and stomp around
screaming hysterically being 50 something years old.
then talk!
tofuCKYOU 4 years ago
The man is 52 years old, what do you think all the punks stay young forever, they grow old like everyone else. Cut him a little slack, people grow.
