  • This totally revolutionized my carding.

  • Ashley, this is a wonderful video! I love your voice and the clear instruction. You gave me some confidence and inspiration that I can do some beautiful things with my little hand-me-down drum carder!

And like other comments, I LOVE the sandwich idea, this is new to me and I will definitely be using this with my wool and mohair that I have dyed!

  • Love the "sandwich" technique (fibers piled into sandwich)!! Fun, fun, fun :)

Did you make the beautiful felted cowl that you are wearing in this video? If so, you definately should make a video on how to make it. Love it!!

  • i've have recieved so much from your wonderful videos. if i can't afford a class, i study your videos. i watch them over and over again. thanks for sharing.

  • Great video darlin!! The only thing I want to mention is, Cashmere doesn't go for "hundreds and hundreds of dollars an ounce"... lol, it sometimes feels that way though! You can get it for $20-40 an oz retail, or if you import direct, it is a lot less. ;)

  • where can you buy fibers from???

  • love the finches in the background

  • that came out beautifully

  • Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!

The Louet I use (from my local guild in Scotland) doesn't have the groove on the licker-in drum but, if I'm careful, I can still get the fibre from it to the large drum at the end.

    Love your videos!

  • Yea, The Be Good Tanyas! Oh, and thanks for the tutorial. ;)

  • Actually, the pointed stick is the doffer, not the brush but you still get everything off - no matter what you call it! Lovely finished product.

  • Thank you so much for this great video! Your batt is GORGEOUS!! I just got drum carder yesterday and I'm off to experiment!

  • The stick is called a doffer :)

  • @hebamou Thanks. :D I didn't realize they were BOTH doffers.

  • That sari silk is gorgeous! Where do you find it? I haven't found a good source...

  • @Talamorgan I've purchased it here: frabjousfibers (dot com)

  • I don't have one of these(I'm only15) and I'm looking into crafting. I'm more into makeing things that I can wear/sell. because It's so much more customized and unique. This I'm going to keep in my head for reference in the future. this is really interesting. Thank you :)
