  • It is because of narow minded people like that people still die in high rise fires.

    Search AMRI hospital in Kolkata

  • right but that hole wasnt on all 4 sides of the building, if they had rails on all 4 sides then some of them would have to be free to use.

  • I like the concept, all buildings should have something like this.

  • How can the firefighters go up the same rails that everyone else is going DOWN???

  • Buddy, if you think people going insane with panic during a fire can put on a harness to then descend the building, you're living in a fantasy world.

  • or you could take the stairs and elevators to get firefighters and equipment up and victims down, and believe it or not firefighters bring their own nozzles and communication repeating devices. no firefighter is going to carry equipment up that high, they will be utilizing the elevators. oh and if you push the fire in from the outside your going to kill everyone on that floor and the floors directly above. need to do a little more research bro

  • apparently you paid no attention during 9/11, stairs to get up in high rises? ya that'll take hours and lots of energy. Elevators? most elevators are shut down during fires. Or they are knocked out like in 9/11. Firefighters arent going to carry equipment up that high?? Firefighters on 9/11 were carrying around 60 pounds of equipment with them. They carry high rise packs of hose, axes, saws, air packs, etc. You might wanna do more research yourself before posting "bro"

  • apparently you have paid no attention to any other high rise incidents besides 9/11. 9/11 was an exception of a routine fire. 2 buildings out of the rest of the high rises in the world is no reason to make such a drastic and useless change to every building. 60 Lbs? try over 100lbs, and that depends on your riding position that tour. elevators are shut down on purpose so that civilians cant use them. every firefighter in New York has a 1620 key to control the elevators. anything else BRO?

  • oh right sorry i forgot all the rest of the high rise buildings are around 10 floors and easy to climb, you wanna climb 30 flights of stairs or more with 100 lbs of gear on your back you go right ahead GI Joe. You're the idiot that said no firefighter is gonna carry equipment up that high You'd be useless by the time you got to the fire. When did i say go put these on every building in the world?? they're just thinking up ideas to help firefighters BRO

  • Why don't you read before you type. My case is that the stairs and elevators will do just fine. Stop the argument of stairs vs elevators talk you can use both. Any fire above the 7th floor you should use elevator to go up. If the elevator doesn't work it is usually because it's a shit Hole building full of shines that don't give a damn, not the fire.

  • Alright, what happens when the FD gets there and they cant get up because people are evacuating down the rails??? Same issue with the interior stairs, just outside. And what gonna keep the rails "clean" from obstructions??

  • wow, ya know how effective this could have been on 9/11? great ideas!! hopefully all highrises get something like this!

  • this is really cool good luck with the project
