how to make rc car fuel.

Mul tekkis küsimus, et kui sa sinna bensiini paned, kas se kütus siis töötab ning miks seal üldse bensiin sul käib? Paned nitro asemel, et rohkem jõudu oleks?

Ma olen teinud kütust ilma bensiini ning nitrometaanita (metanool + kastoor õli) ning on töötanud üpris hästi.

Kui metanooli tahad siis seda saab ilva.ee 0.40 euri

Asi on nüüd ikka selles, et originaal kütuse hind päris kõrge. 1 gallon ehk 3,78 liitrit maksab 30 eurot. Minu kütus tuleb mitmeid kordi odavam. Kastoor õli mina kasutada ei taha, sest põhjustab korrosiooni. Bensiini panen sellepärast, et 2t õli tehnilise piiritusega paremini seguneks. Bensiini kasutamata ei lahustu 2t õli. Kastoor õli lahustub alkoholidega suurepäraselt. Erinevatel vedelikel erinevad omadused.

Kas see 0,40 on liitri hind?

Nitro kütuse hind on tõesti KOSMILISELT kõrge.

Aga ma ei saanud vastust :D, kas su kütus bensiini seguga töötab ja põleb normaalselt ning kuidas on käivitamisega?

@tablaconcept u can buy pure ethanol from chemistry shops supplying for school and college labs.thats wat they use in alcohol burners.it might contain methanol which makes it poison ,but its the same none the less.

New engine costs 80 euros and one gallon of nitro gas is 30 euros that`s 1 engine = less than 3 gallons. I find that fuel is too pricey. And when fourth gallon goes you start to think "why"?

I have not tried it like that I believe ethanol burns cleanly less grime.

@TheSierra1983 dont try it you will blow up the engine its nitro powered meaning glow plug to heat the fuel diesel uses glow plugs not standard 2 stroke petrolium so dont bother as you need a different valve setup and carb and also need a spark plug

@TheSierra1983 you can if you have a spare engine and can get a spark plug and spark coil system for it to work and also some suitable 2 stroke for the engine then you could but its not surgested as these engines that run on glow fuel do have different carbs etc to 2 stroke and do have a different inlet outlet setup but it could be possible personaly thow i wouldnt bother for it id just buy a 2 stroke engine there £60 for a decent one in a shop near me.

Electronic ignition on this little engine will be very complicated. it requires a special high speed timing (example: at 15 000- 30 000 rpm). Even on real cars it's hard science. Glow ignition is simple and cheap to maintain. I've burnt liters and liters that fuel thru my engine - still runs good no problem at all. Carburetor tuning is important if you run too lean you simply burn hole thru your piston.

@TheSierra1983 yeah i know thats why i said its hard to do and pointless tbh rather just buy a 2 stroke engine rther than buy or use a nitro one and then setup everything and drill holes for timing etc and then fit the timing rods and valves etc etc so in the end it basicly is pointless to bother trying to do

Have you tried a similar approach with E85? This fuel is available at several locations in gas stations in the US, and is a blend of 85 percent ethanol, and 15 percent gasoline or other hydrocarbon. The parts would not be same, most likely less gas would be the only change. Also does this fuel work in cox .049 engines or has not been tested yet? Thanks.

Unfortunately the E85 is not available in Estonia. I only use it on my rc car. I believe that original fuel is better but price is just insane.

Seems like you would have to re-tune your engine every time, unless you mixed it the exact same way every time, just wondering how much of each you mix or does it matter? Also you should try using diesel fuel with 2 stroke oil also a good nitro fuel, should do a video of the car running on this fuel you make I would like to see the performance,, great video..

I have this video already where I use my fuel "RC buggy ride with homemade fuel".

fine tuning depends on what weather is outside is there cold winter or hot summer day and yes I have to re-tune my engine every time when i make a fuel. Tuning is simple you must find that sweet spot (on the mixture needle) where your engine runs good.

Glow plug filament should go red when you put power on and whether the fuel reaches into the cylinder, check it out.

This is not equivalent to nitro fuel, but you can run your engine with that. The original nitro fuel is just something else - consisting of twenty different parts this 20%, 30% is some portion (usually between 10% and 30%) of nitromethane mixed with methanol my fuel don`t contain nitromethane and second question you have to mix your fuel well do not forget 2 stroke oil.

My engine is still alive. That how hot your engine goes depends how rich or lean is your fuel-air mixture. You can regulate this and where your engine rides and how fast. A properly tuned engine will last a long time with good performance throughout its life. My RC car instruction says that good operating temperature is between 100 to 120 degrees celsius. One litre = 10 filled tanks for me 1,5 to 2 hours of driving thats a lot.

hi... it has been almost a year since you posted this video..

Did the mix work good on your rc nitro cars?

did you have any loss of compression or damaged engine by this

the mix is very easy and cheap..

for the folks dont know chemicals is just.

1. go to walmart buy 2 stroke oil

2. go to walmart buy alcohol, in the rubbing alcohol section.. must be ethanol(drinkable, so you need to be over 21)

3. go to walmart gas station and buy the most expensive gasoline

Do you mean ether and two stroke oil? I have not tried it. This is highly flammable (ether self-igniting at 170, ethanol 363 degrees Celsius). This should give rise to the detonation that is bad.

20 hours of driving and nothing happened. if you forget to put oil in the fuel then engine runs off right now. My engine don`t have piston rings that means piston and cylinder liner is very accurately treated, gets too hot, this can be very easily one non moving piece of metal. Is this fuel good for the engine? I think yes, because there is nothing happened. Red ethanol? I've heard that the dye burns up into particles that may damage the engine.

No ! your gasoline engine doesn't work with that fuel, because there is so much 2 stroke oil and alcohol, only for nitro engine with glow plug.

No ethanol that is sold in any hardware store is 100% pure. It' normally called denatured alcohol and that means they add to the non poisonous ethanol, about 30% poisonous METHANOL. It's the METHANOL's catalytic reaction with the platinum glow element that gives you a run.

You have to get a special permit to get PURE ethanol,,,,, at least you do in Canada.

I used to this brand "APChemicals". important is that you get at least 95% ethanol.

My mixture: 2t oil - 0,18 gal. ethanol - 0,52 gal. gasoline - 0,30 gal. mixture is very oily. please comment when this fuel works. My rc car works great.
