Dude I've used a 460 cc club head drive off the fairway from 270 and trust me the ball won't go much higher then 2-10 yards

@wordlessmuse Nope, stinger is a type of swing, resulting in a characteristic ball trajectory. This is sort of the same trajectory, but without the characteristic swing. So not a stinger, I think.

With the old persimmon drivers you could hit a driver off the fairway. Try doing that with a 460cc driver!!

@pat52010 You can do it with a 460 if you've got a good lie. It is easier wit a persimmon but i find if u hit it a little steeper with ball further back you can do it. Just play a fade basically and get it in the air. Give it a go.

@XXxTAKENOTESxX You can hit a ball thin yet still make a divot. The ball is struck as the club is descending, thus the divot is made after the ball is hit. This kind of thin shot is a "professional thin". Where as a hacker's thin shot happens because of a flip and an ascending blow.
