it was a pretty decent tutorial if not a little jumbled. the editing could use a bit of work but other then that it was really good.
a pro tip for getting the gear to not move so much: if you apply a gob of hot glue to both sides of the gear ONE SIDE AT A TIME and pry it loose with an exacto knife you effectively make a mount for the gear. making sure the gear is very cool can keep the hot glue from sticking to it too much so it cant be pried off
tmccread. Your correct I am bodgy! The first time you make anything without directions and scrapped together from other parts it will be bodgy. Thats why there are so many confusing steps. I suppose if I made these for a living it should be more uniform, but this was just for fun.
hey dude this is a cool video tutorial . but the process that you have to go through to get a pin wheel to light up is a bitch .other then that love the video.

WOW that's incredible, all you need to make a fully functioning pinwheel is a soldering iron with solder, strands of copper wire, quick set epoxy, scissors, a file, wire cutters, a screwdriver, a drill with small bits, clamps, a permanent marker, a VCR, a few free hours and a pinwheel.
The world truly is a better place thanks to your ingenuity.
