your making a mistake. your conclusion is based upon the false assumption that the expression "to call upon," is limited to meaning "to pray to."
it means to recognise his authority. we acknowledge that jesus is "the way" to the father, when we approach jehovah "through" him, using his name in our prayers, acknowledging his spirit anointed role in Gods kingdom. (john 14:6)
this is how we call on jesus name, while praying to jehovah. :)
Notice the verse says they call upon the "name" of Jesus Christ. That's what Christians are supposed to do when they pray. We must pray through the name of Jesus Christ. On the other hand, why is the Greek word that always means prayer-proseuchomai- elsewhere, not used in reference to Jesus in the Bible?
If you understand that it is "Through" or "By means of" Jesus we are saved.... as Moses was the means ancient Israel was then this make total sense doesn't it?
"Through" Moses ancient Israel was saved and he would make supplication to Jehovah for them.....
Jesus Christ (Who lives forever) now does this and we must pray in "His Name" to the father who's name is "Jehovah"....
What does Jesus do for men??? He is a mediator between men and God right? Well, im pretty sure this is in harmony with asking in his name/calling on his name. You ask the Father in the name of the son
Also Corinthians 1: 19-20 says its thru Jesus that we can communicate to god.
John 16: 23,24 says the same thing. Here's a quick question for you who did Jesus pray too In Luke 6:12,13 and in mark 1:35-39 and the many other times he prayed to god?
@silkyhands914- I don't answer the questions of those who do not answer the question that I first asked of them. What does it mean to call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ?
I read your verse and i don't see that it says pray to Jesus. The next verse says may you have undeserved kindness and peace from god our father and the lord Jesus. You see how the father and son two separate identities. and there are many more examples of this. Instead the bible teaches to pray thru him. John 13:14 it was jesus himself that what u call in my name i will do this in order that the father may be glorified in connection to the son.
It means to pray through him JN14:13. Jesus prayed to his Father / God, LK6:12 and taught us to do the same MATT6:9-10 It's a father and son buisness to get to the Boss we must go through the foreman.
Romans 3:22 says that the prophets and the law bore witness to God's righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ. Also Acts 4:12 and John 14:6 both state that only through Jesus can we approach the father and be saved. So by calling upon the name of Jesus Christ they are asking for forgiveness through Jesus ransom sacrifice.
Jesus Christ's job or assigment if you will is to guide, direct, lead, head up the household of God which includes many things... So all glory & all prayer go to the one who has make everything possible that's God but those prayers go through Jesus as the mediator the same as calling upon his name. Paul is speaking to the holy ones, those in that congregation who are of the anointed call the privleage of going to heaven. Later in vs 4 of 1Cor 1 the correct line is given.
When we look at the Bible we see that the number 7 is God's divine number. It signifies perfection and completeness in God's eyes.
Currently there are over 7 million people soon to be in number 7,777,777 (7x7) who are a witness (7 letters) about God's name Jehovah (7 letters) who obey Jesus and "Preach the Good News of the Kingdom" (7 words) and the word Kingdom is 7 letters!!
man speaking to jesus calls him good teacher in reply jesus say why do you call me good none is good except one the father... jesus speaking when man asks him when will be the end in reply jesus say nobody knows bout the father ....also the bible uses alot of forshadows aberaham and issac was one
Those who have quoted Philippians 2:10-11 regarding at the name of Jesus every knee should bow and tongue confess that Jesus is Lord don't mention or know that Paul is quoting directly from Isaiah 45:23 "...unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear" the words of Jehovah God. Jesus and Jehovah God are one. Otherwise John 1:1 would not say "In the beginning was the Word", it would have said "In the beginning the Word was created", but the Word existed at the beginning.
We call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ our High Priest Hebrews 5:10 to go before Jehovah so our sin to be forgiven. NO other name has been given trough which we can be saved. So we must go trough the name of Jesus to make supplication to Jehovah.Jesus' Father and our Father, Jesus' God and our God. John 20:17 Rev 3:12.
Just as a path leads to a goal, so Jesus is the way that leads to God the Almighty. I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me, Jesus taught the apostles. (John 14:6) Thus, we should present our prayers to God through Jesus and not directly to Jesus himself.
Do the words in the name of Jesus every knee should bend mean that we are to pray to him? No. Indeed, for a prayer to be acceptable, it must be presented in the name of Jesus, but it is, nevertheless, addressed to Jehovah God and serves to his glorification. For this reason, Paul says: In everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let your petitions be made known to God.—Philippians 4:6.
The apostle Paul describes the great influence that Jesus position exerts on prayer as follows: For this very reason also God exalted him to a superior position and kindly gave him the name that is above every other name, so that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the ground, and every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.—Philippians 2:9-11.
Jesus died as a ransom sacrifice for mankind, was resurrected by God, and was exalted to a superior position. As you might imagine, all of this did bring about a change regarding acceptable prayers. In what way?
Jesus said: It is written, It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service. Jesus adhered to the fundamental truth that worship—hence also prayers—is to be addressed only to his Father, Jehovah God.—Luke 4:8; 6:12
1 cor 1:2 does not mean Christians called on the name of Jesus. That was a salutation of a letter including 'all who everywhere are calling upon the name of our Lord' to distinguish those that did not know Jesus.
Furthermore, there is no salvation in anyone else, for there is not another name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must get saved"
Calling upon the name of Jehovah does not mean to pray to Jehovah. IT is a fulfillment of Joel 2:32 "that everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will get away safe"
Sounds an awful lot like Acts 4:12, Everyone who calls on the name of "JESUS" will be saved. Salvation is in NO OTHER NAME! At the "name of Jesus" every knee will bow. Jesus said we were to be HIS disciples. We are to be HIS witnesses.
My NKJ reads, For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Also in Acts 4:11-12 it says, This is the stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone. Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. I'm sure that this is Yeshua (Jesus) because of what is stated in verse 10.
@TheHeavensDove I dont realy understand your point but if you read versus 10 properly he clearly says It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you impaled but whom "God" raised from the dead, and if you go on to read verse 12 it says "Salvation is found in no one else, (Meaning a source or means of deliverance) for there is no other name under heaven (meaning earth Under the power of Jehovah) given to men by which we must be saved."
The point that I was making was that one must call on the name of Jesus to be saved.
Redemption and salvation is only in Him. He was crucified, died and rose again for that purpose. Jesus said, I am the Resurrection and the Life.
So, those that call on the name of Jehovah for salvation instead of His Son which the Father God provided as a propititory (satisfactory) sacrifice for the sins of mankind, then they are in error. Jesus will not know them when He comes back.
@RuffSkwad1 So if satan and the demons call on his name are they saved? you have to have faith. and faith without works is dead. there is more to just calling on his name to be saved that is just the beginging
no they will not be saved because they had sinned as perfect angels directly to jehovah to be saved you will be judged acording to your sins if you are truly repentant then it will be forgiven you except sins agains the holy spirit but satan will not be destroyed at armageddon but kept for a final test of faith for those who will make it to paridise and yes faith without works is dead, I would like to know what you consider work to be? and anything else you would like to know?
I know this I was giving out a ? to others. Satan will be set free after the 1000 yr reign of christ in the paradis earth. Works is putting Jehovah first in your life. Such as JW's do; preaching work, meetings, conventions ect. I was just pointing out that just because you believe in god does not mean you will be saved
@shihtzufizzers I see where you are going with this. Of course man needs more than to just call on the name of God. Jesus says in Mathew 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, "Lord, Lord," shall enter the kingdom of heaven." It also says we need to do the will of The Father in heaven. There certainly is more to salvation than simply calling on Jesus name. Though I can't find a biblical text that explains the loss of salvation for Satan and his angelic followers.
"And the devil leading them astray was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are. And they are tormented day and night for ever and ever... And if anyone was not found having been written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire."
It means that they are praying to Jesus, just as JWs are. For reasons unknown, they refer to Him by His Old Testament name and Christians refer to Him by His New Testament name.
I kinda agree that it is very hard to convert a JW. I should know, because I was one for over 20 years.I know what they are trained to say, what they are trained not to say, and how to be tactful in what they say, and judging by some of the comments here, quite a few have failed at that.I think many JW's are sincere people and truly believe what the Watchtower tells them.Unfortunately for them, independent Bible study without JW literature, is frowned upon.
This guy is actually waiting for a Witness to be like "oh my, I must not really have the truth after all" lol Fat chance. The most brained washed group ever. They are trained to have an answer for everything. There is no converting a JW
we jehonah witness r not brain washed, because we teach straight from the bible, thats why we are so stricked. and were in the bible does it say, that jesus was hung on a cross, or that he was born on dec 25, or that we should celebrate easter or bdays, were, does it say to do that, EXACTLY it doesnt there for u ppl are pagans, but its never to late to ask for forgive ness, jehovah is more than willing to forgive, and if u need more information, ask me or ask a fellow baptized brother or sister
To suggest you teach straight from the Bible is not true. You all teach from Watchtower material. The JW understanding of the Bible. Russell mixed pagan teachings (pyramids, stars, free-masonry) teachings with the Bible. Like it or not, the roots of your religion are paganism. Where does it say to have a circuit overseer, or go to a "kingdom hall" or count the hours of "service", or have "talks", or fall under the rulership of a "governing body"? "EXACTLY it doesnt there for u ppl are pagans".
your too old to be acting this stupid geta life go to a kingdom hall and they will answer all your questions you need to get outside instead of sitting in the house all day asking questions you dont really want to know the answers to anyway.
@ynginblues while you may be trying to make a point, there are right ways and wrong ways to go about it. I don't know whether or not you are one of Jehovah's Witnesses yourself but Christians must be mild-tempered. Should he go to a KIngdom Hall to get his questions answered? Yes. Are there better ways to convey that point? Definitely.
No Im not a Jehovahs witness, but I do vist the hall. I understand your point. I really dont feel i said anything mean, really but I understand where you are coming from.
also jesus would have never told people to pray to his father when they could have prayed to him right there, in fact jesus is just an angel a "chief angel" but an angel, and even angels didnt accept any form of worship from humans, Jesus whole life he pointed to jehovah for the glory , Read, actually read the bible and you wouldnt be asking questions like this. you go ahead and pray to jesus but I bet he wont be listening, thats because you are not listening.
Wow this point has been beaten like a dead horse! Either you get it or you dont... ill tell you this much about jw they follow jesus as closely as they can and i dont see that from any other religion. as a matter of fact a catholic, muslim, jew , buddist, will kill each of its own in a war but they are the only ones who refuse to do so. dude get a life, show some respect. it seems you only ask these questions to try to find somthing that is not there.
As many people explained below, we pray to God, Jehovah, THROUGH Jesus Christ. "No one comes to through the Father except through me." [John 14:6] We don't "call" upon Jesus.
@ChannyOhMannyIf If you shouldn't "call" upon Jesus, Why was Stephen praying to the Lord Jesus to receive his spirit in Acts 7:59 as he was being stoned to death? Seems like he would have the most clarity when in verse 56 he sees heaven opened up and the Son of man(Jesus) is standing at God's right hand. If you are correct, why wouldn't he pray to God the Father unless Jesus is also God?
Why do you ask questions when you obviously don't believe that the name of god is Jehova. You don't care what their response is. You are merely a bored antoagonist. THe next time you ask a question try to sound open minded seeing as you where a shirt believing in someone who a lot of people dont believe existed. I dont think Jesus would apreciate youre smug attitude.
P.S. There is a scripture where Jesus prays to his father in heaven.
In Jesus name we pray Amen. Not we pray to Jesus. That would be putting him above Jehovah which is wrong hence: creating another god instead of praying to the God of Jacob which is Jehovah (Yahweh)
If you check Acts 4:12, it makes it a little clearer. It's what Jesus did for us in offering his life as a ransom sacrifice that makes his name so significant for us. It is only by that sacrifice that we can have a clean standing before Jehovah at all, and therefore, it's through that name (Jesus Christ) that we approach Jehovah in prayer. By praying to Jehovah through the name of Jesus Christ, we show proper respect for that arrangement, not disrespect for Jehovah.
The question is perfectly valid, but hey, if you will not obey Jesus if He told you to, just say so. Your attempt of invalidating my question does not absolve you of the responsibility to be honest with yourself.
no, that scripture is simply stating that it would be wrong to worship other gods, because jehovah is the one and only true god that provided life. All other false gods are to be done away with because that is just false worship
In the JW version of Jn 1:1 it says Jesus is "a god". Is Jesus a false god, or the one true God? If he is a false god, why are you following the teachings of a false god?
The word God I think is used as a title like when it talks about how the devil is the god of our corrupt world, I think they use it to describe a powerful being or authority, who knows people see things differently.
We call upon the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ, because without him, we would have nothing to do with the Father. He was sent as a propitation for our sins. That is why, we pray to the Father, in the name of the son. Meaning, "please Father, send your holy spirit to strengthen me in these crucial and last days so that I may take part in your kingdom, in the name of you son and my Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, Amen." Remember, out of love the Father sent the son, not out of necessity.
I do not refer to the Watchtower organization as the truth. The Watchtower is our organization that regulates all aspects and activities of our Kingdom Halls. Our entire army of evangelizers as a whole, preach the truth. Hence, if you are preached to by Jehovah's Witnesses, and you happen to accept the love of the truth, then you come to knowledge of the truth, and you are likely to join in the spreading of the truth. Then you are considered in the truth.
First: as a man of research i hope you researched that in the original language that phrase "call upon" meant to confess his lordship which is exercising faith in his blood shed or being a follower of him.(i have a non watchtower reference if needed)
Second: Jesus is the mediator between Jehovah and humans just like how it is brought out in Ephesians 5:20,1 Timothy 2:5,John 14:6 humans can't get to Jehovah in prayer without Jesus so you would have to use jesus name in prayer
Ray, I'm not sure of the source you are using, but the concordance sitting in my lap says of the word "call" used in 1 Cor 1:2- Epikaleomai means to call upon and has the meaning "appeal" in the middle voice, which suggests a special interest on the part of the doer of an action in that in which he is engaged.
There you have it. First century Christians communicated with Jesus. Why can't JWs?
negative if i write YOU a letter or a message and the post man delivered it to you he is simply the way for the message to be delivered, so i pray to GOD and jesus through his sacrifice iable to enure our prayers are delivered THROUGH him.
You first have to get the letter to the postman. Actually, this postman analogy isn't quite enough to make my point. Jesus is called our mediator in Scripture (1 Tim 2:5). Please explain the function of a mediator.
The were asking for a blessing THROUGH Jesus but From Jehovah as it states in verse 3 and i quote "From God the Father AND The Lord Jesus". Just as we Pray to Jehovah THROUGH Jesus' name.
1 Cor 1:3 in the NAS states, "Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." That is a blessing, not a prayer. Verse two specifically says that they called upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Wrong Jesus says father to show he is submissive(as the son) but still the same substance. Just like saying wives honer the husband. The wife shows her place but does not give up her authority or equal substance. This is how Jesu can be the son and God to but JW's don't get it no matter how slow you type it.
your making a mistake. your conclusion is based upon the false assumption that the expression "to call upon," is limited to meaning "to pray to."
it means to recognise his authority. we acknowledge that jesus is "the way" to the father, when we approach jehovah "through" him, using his name in our prayers, acknowledging his spirit anointed role in Gods kingdom. (john 14:6)
this is how we call on jesus name, while praying to jehovah. :)

It means that they are praying to Jesus, just as JWs are. For reasons unknown, they refer to Him by His Old Testament name and Christians refer to Him by His New Testament name.

Was that thumbs down put there by a JW? Could a JW do such a thing about a direct quote from Watchtower material?

HI,

Hi to you!
f8beenthere 2 years ago
NO IT WAS DONE BY EX-JW.
Ni1234ck 2 years ago
I kinda agree that it is very hard to convert a JW. I should know, because I was one for over 20 years.I know what they are trained to say, what they are trained not to say, and how to be tactful in what they say, and judging by some of the comments here, quite a few have failed at that.I think many JW's are sincere people and truly believe what the Watchtower tells them.Unfortunately for them, independent Bible study without JW literature, is frowned upon.
marocket213 2 years ago
This guy is actually waiting for a Witness to be like "oh my, I must not really have the truth after all" lol Fat chance. The most brained washed group ever. They are trained to have an answer for everything. There is no converting a JW
karatechick1981 2 years ago
we jehonah witness r not brain washed, because we teach straight from the bible, thats why we are so stricked. and were in the bible does it say, that jesus was hung on a cross, or that he was born on dec 25, or that we should celebrate easter or bdays, were, does it say to do that, EXACTLY it doesnt there for u ppl are pagans, but its never to late to ask for forgive ness, jehovah is more than willing to forgive, and if u need more information, ask me or ask a fellow baptized brother or sister
johnsta13 2 years ago
Take a look at Romans 14.
BlaineKatsura 2 years ago
To suggest you teach straight from the Bible is not true. You all teach from Watchtower material. The JW understanding of the Bible. Russell mixed pagan teachings (pyramids, stars, free-masonry) teachings with the Bible. Like it or not, the roots of your religion are paganism. Where does it say to have a circuit overseer, or go to a "kingdom hall" or count the hours of "service", or have "talks", or fall under the rulership of a "governing body"? "EXACTLY it doesnt there for u ppl are pagans".

your too old to be acting this stupid geta life go to a kingdom hall and they will answer all your questions you need to get outside instead of sitting in the house all day asking questions you dont really want to know the answers to anyway.

remember to be tactful friend...
nickolusmayfield 3 years ago
You are so kind. That just makes me want to be around JWs all the time.
EvidenceMinistries 2 years ago
@ynginblues while you may be trying to make a point, there are right ways and wrong ways to go about it. I don't know whether or not you are one of Jehovah's Witnesses yourself but Christians must be mild-tempered. Should he go to a KIngdom Hall to get his questions answered? Yes. Are there better ways to convey that point? Definitely.
RealBibleAnswers 1 year ago
@RealBibleAnswers okay..
No Im not a Jehovahs witness, but I do vist the hall. I understand your point. I really dont feel i said anything mean, really but I understand where you are coming from.
ynginblues 1 year ago
also jesus would have never told people to pray to his father when they could have prayed to him right there, in fact jesus is just an angel a "chief angel" but an angel, and even angels didnt accept any form of worship from humans, Jesus whole life he pointed to jehovah for the glory , Read, actually read the bible and you wouldnt be asking questions like this. you go ahead and pray to jesus but I bet he wont be listening, thats because you are not listening.
carbonhornet 3 years ago
Wow this point has been beaten like a dead horse! Either you get it or you dont... ill tell you this much about jw they follow jesus as closely as they can and i dont see that from any other religion. as a matter of fact a catholic, muslim, jew , buddist, will kill each of its own in a war but they are the only ones who refuse to do so. dude get a life, show some respect. it seems you only ask these questions to try to find somthing that is not there.
carbonhornet 3 years ago
As many people explained below, we pray to God, Jehovah, THROUGH Jesus Christ. "No one comes to through the Father except through me." [John 14:6] We don't "call" upon Jesus.
ChannyOhManny 3 years ago 5
I know you do not call upon the name of Jesus, but the first century Christians did. 1 Cor.1:2
EvidenceMinistries 3 years ago
@ChannyOhMannyIf If you shouldn't "call" upon Jesus, Why was Stephen praying to the Lord Jesus to receive his spirit in Acts 7:59 as he was being stoned to death? Seems like he would have the most clarity when in verse 56 he sees heaven opened up and the Son of man(Jesus) is standing at God's right hand. If you are correct, why wouldn't he pray to God the Father unless Jesus is also God?

Quick question...
Dethbane74 3 years ago 2
In Jesus name we pray Amen. Not we pray to Jesus. That would be putting him above Jehovah which is wrong hence: creating another god instead of praying to the God of Jacob which is Jehovah (Yahweh)
dsim01 3 years ago 3
If you check Acts 4:12, it makes it a little clearer. It's what Jesus did for us in offering his life as a ransom sacrifice that makes his name so significant for us. It is only by that sacrifice that we can have a clean standing before Jehovah at all, and therefore, it's through that name (Jesus Christ) that we approach Jehovah in prayer. By praying to Jehovah through the name of Jesus Christ, we show proper respect for that arrangement, not disrespect for Jehovah.
reecewagner 3 years ago
I understand this, but what if Jesus said you could pray to Him. Would you?
EvidenceMinistries 3 years ago
Not a valid question, Jesus worshiped his father perfectly. His way of worship would not allow him to think of such an idea.
whatda2009 3 years ago 5
The question is perfectly valid, but hey, if you will not obey Jesus if He told you to, just say so. Your attempt of invalidating my question does not absolve you of the responsibility to be honest with yourself.
EvidenceMinistries 3 years ago
NEVER!!!!!!!!!
Exodus 20:3 YOU MUST NOT HAVE ANY OTHER gods AGAINST MY FACE.
Exodus 34:14 FOR YOU MUST NOT PROSTRATE YOURSELF TO ANOTHER god, BECAUSE JEHOVAH, WHOSE NAME IS JELOUS, HE IS A JELOUS GOD
dsim01 3 years ago 3
no, that scripture is simply stating that it would be wrong to worship other gods, because jehovah is the one and only true god that provided life. All other false gods are to be done away with because that is just false worship
PurpLeDinOz 3 years ago 2
In the JW version of Jn 1:1 it says Jesus is "a god". Is Jesus a false god, or the one true God? If he is a false god, why are you following the teachings of a false god?
f8beenthere 2 years ago
The word God I think is used as a title like when it talks about how the devil is the god of our corrupt world, I think they use it to describe a powerful being or authority, who knows people see things differently.
Ray510eso 2 years ago
The devil is a false god. What about Jesus?
Real God, or false god?
f8beenthere 2 years ago
Jesus is neither the True God nor a false God.
Remember that false gods take worship from Jehovah. Jesus did not do that. Jesus did what was proper.

We call upon the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ, because without him, we would have nothing to do with the Father. He was sent as a propitation for our sins. That is why, we pray to the Father, in the name of the son. Meaning, "please Father, send your holy spirit to strengthen me in these crucial and last days so that I may take part in your kingdom, in the name of you son and my Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, Amen." Remember, out of love the Father sent the son, not out of necessity.
youbintubinallday 3 years ago
So how do you call upon the name of the Son?
EvidenceMinistries 3 years ago
They were not calling upon his name in prayer, rather praying to Jehovah, through Jesus Christ.
youbintubinallday 3 years ago
So if you are hypothetically calling upon the name of your brother, it really means that you are talking to your father? How does that makes sense?
EvidenceMinistries 3 years ago
I do not refer to the Watchtower organization as the truth. The Watchtower is our organization that regulates all aspects and activities of our Kingdom Halls. Our entire army of evangelizers as a whole, preach the truth. Hence, if you are preached to by Jehovah's Witnesses, and you happen to accept the love of the truth, then you come to knowledge of the truth, and you are likely to join in the spreading of the truth. Then you are considered in the truth.
youbintubinallday 3 years ago
Can you be in the truth without being in the organization?
EvidenceMinistries 3 years ago
your response is unclear and doesn't prove anything...and you said "call upon" not just "call"
raystone100sanita 3 years ago
What is the difference between calling Jesus and calling upon Jesus?
EvidenceMinistries 3 years ago
nice qestion
First: as a man of research i hope you researched that in the original language that phrase "call upon" meant to confess his lordship which is exercising faith in his blood shed or being a follower of him.(i have a non watchtower reference if needed)
Second: Jesus is the mediator between Jehovah and humans just like how it is brought out in Ephesians 5:20,1 Timothy 2:5,John 14:6 humans can't get to Jehovah in prayer without Jesus so you would have to use jesus name in prayer
raystone100sanita 3 years ago
Ray, I'm not sure of the source you are using, but the concordance sitting in my lap says of the word "call" used in 1 Cor 1:2- Epikaleomai means to call upon and has the meaning "appeal" in the middle voice, which suggests a special interest on the part of the doer of an action in that in which he is engaged.
There you have it. First century Christians communicated with Jesus. Why can't JWs?
EvidenceMinistries 3 years ago
hrough jesus you get to Jehovah according to "their beliefs." its why In Jesus Name they pray to Jehovah.
uWaAvenger 3 years ago
So where do your prayers go?
EvidenceMinistries 3 years ago
My prayers Reach God Almighty THROUGH his son Jesus Christ
uWaAvenger 3 years ago
Don't they first have to go TO Jesus before they can go THROUGH him?
EvidenceMinistries 3 years ago
negative if i write YOU a letter or a message and the post man delivered it to you he is simply the way for the message to be delivered, so i pray to GOD and jesus through his sacrifice iable to enure our prayers are delivered THROUGH him.
uWaAvenger 3 years ago
You are forgetting that my letter first has to get to the postman. How does it do that?
EvidenceMinistries 3 years ago
the postman delivers the letter but it is not directly to him, did you forget that?
uWaAvenger 3 years ago
You first have to get the letter to the postman. Actually, this postman analogy isn't quite enough to make my point. Jesus is called our mediator in Scripture (1 Tim 2:5). Please explain the function of a mediator.
EvidenceMinistries 3 years ago
The were asking for a blessing THROUGH Jesus but From Jehovah as it states in verse 3 and i quote "From God the Father AND The Lord Jesus". Just as we Pray to Jehovah THROUGH Jesus' name.
jjureyyy 3 years ago
Do you call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ? If so, how?
EvidenceMinistries 3 years ago
seems like its explained already how He calls On jesus Christ to guide him To Gods kingdom.
uWaAvenger 3 years ago
How can you call upon someone without speaking to them?
EvidenceMinistries 3 years ago
Continue to verse 3. They were calling for God through Jesus
jjureyyy 3 years ago
1 Cor 1:3 in the NAS states, "Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." That is a blessing, not a prayer. Verse two specifically says that they called upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
EvidenceMinistries 3 years ago
well do you call your father in his first name? respectfully i wouldnt, thats why jesus didnt call him by jehovah, but by 'father'
getsomeskillzz 3 years ago
Wrong Jesus says father to show he is submissive(as the son) but still the same substance. Just like saying wives honer the husband. The wife shows her place but does not give up her authority or equal substance. This is how Jesu can be the son and God to but JW's don't get it no matter how slow you type it.

Matthew 6:9. on Who's name did Jesus call?
nibornagrom 3 years ago
I don't see a name there at all. Do you?
EvidenceMinistries 3 years ago
So we are to pray to who?
In who's name?
Jesus had a name in mind, he said to pray in his name?
Are you kidding me? Or are you trying to be obtuse?
nibornagrom 3 years ago
Nope, not trying to be obtuse. Just trying to make a point. Jesus NEVER addressed God in prayer as "Jehovah."
JWs spend so much time pointing people to MT.6:9, yet fail to realize that Jesus Himself never used the name Jehovah in prayer. Why is that?
EvidenceMinistries 3 years ago
I had to redo this QQFJW. The previous one was too dark and the audio was muddled.
