I need help plz:I have blender and OpenGl es install as well just to tell you know. Now i try to do something in blender and use the option :render>OpenGL render Image and i get a blinking bar said: (error failed to create OpenGL offscreen Buffer,Unknown)can someone tell me if i need something else or if Im doing it wrong?
@AndyHarglesis I'd like to see you try, from scratch, with no 3d program whatsoever, for the first time ever, *AND* making work on Linux as well as Windows.
please anyone tell me how to install kdevelop or give me a link i have ubuntu 9.10 and i have fedora 12 when i install it on ubuntu 9.10 it can't compile and i can't install it on fedora 12 it tells me when i sudo that my user isn't in the sudoers file please help i've been trying for 5 months to install it
@slashhashdash It says that your user isn't in the sudoers file? Check the manpages for visudo, and run that as root. You'll have to add an entry for yourself.
Also, why not compile gcc for Windows, or just use MinGW? There shouldn't be as much code alteration needed if you do that, unless I'm missing something blatantly obvious.
What I meant was, instead of using Visual C++ for Windows, you could compile gcc and use that when porting code to and from Windows, so that any compilation flags/etc can be used on either one rather than "translating" them.
ah, sorry this was a long time ago. my prof checks with visual c++ so i had to make sure it worked there first. porting the code it to gcc was just extracurricular on my part.
Sure he did it in code, but it would've been _easier_ to do it in a 3D program and write code to import and display it. Also, let's face it - as much of an accomplishment as it is, the 3D Bender used in Futurama in the cell-shaded 3D sequences looks a damn sight better than this one. One of the many reasons for this is that an artist created the model and not a coder.
There isn't any specific way. If you know a good enough amount of C++, you will know how to load files. So you have to load the model file, and learn how to parse it (this can be different depending on the file type)
I suggest starting with something simple like .obj or .md2 files.
Think i'd rather create with pencil and paper @_@

@testingte To correct you there, it's impossible to generate 3D matrixes or vertices with no 3D program, as you call it. :P
AndyHarglesis 1 year ago
@AndyHarglesis In description it says "This is all code - no GUI 3D app (e.g. Maya, 3D Studio Max) was used here."
testingte 1 year ago
@testingte Okay, my friend, once you learn what 3D is then argue with me because otherwise you don't even know what you're talking about.
I know what the description means, but clearly you got mixed up with my logic. Do you even know how to use Basic? lol

Okay, I understand now. :)
My class uses Dev C++ (ew), so it's MinGW/gcc already; I just make sure to compile on a more recent version of gcc than the one supplied with Dev C++.
