Я пробовал такой сделать - аллюминиевая пулька даже не сдвинулась несмотря на ее весв 1г и 2000дж в кондере

плохо делал значит я с одной ступени 4гр алюминевой пулькой 60м\с по хронографу получил, планирую потом когда время и деньги будут заказать нужные капы и разрядники и 6сти ступенчатый сделать чтоб сверхзвуковая скорость на выходе была

Perhaps you should load the gun before you charge it, in case of an unexpected discharge ;)

perhaps if you shaped the ring so that it spun then it would have gyroscopic stabilisation.

maybe simply cut and bend three points outwards slightly on the ring like so that the equal air pressure change at the edge causes the spin. you could tune the rate of spin with the power of the rail gun after many tests to find optimum blade angle.

Oh and another question, did you just use a resistive voltage divider for that voltmeter? What resisters at what watt rating?

I made one but am yet to hook it up, I used 17 1/2W carbon resistors to make up 9.9Mohm for a 1:100 divider (meter resistance 100kohm). Looks a bit iffy to me so would be good to know what you used.

What did you use to trigger the HV pulse? sparkgap? relay? scr?

I have a capacitor very simular to yours, a K75-40a but 3kv @ 100uF instead of 5kV @ 40uF. I have a 12kV relay however Im looking for a less "lossy" way of triggering it.

To be honest, I did not expect even that much damage from an object of so little mass. I suspect the speed that the lighter weight objects gain compensates for their lack of mass.

Very nice video! The ring idea was great! Perhaps they could become more aerodynamic if the front edge was sharpened and create even less drag. But then you may not be able to shoot it in the house without hurting someone. Lol

The shot which on this video, was made only about 40% of full power because when i charged capacitor at 4,5kV and in 1-2 minutes before i made a shot he discharged to 3kV :( in full power ring smash or brake through the can ^_^

no ring has 32mm diameter,collision area too big, and on video because of filming condenser was discharged to 3кВ therefore a shot was far not from full force

IT`S NOT A COILGUN,

it`s absolutely another type of electromagnetic accelerator, like thomson ring launcher but strongly modified, coil T coil type? which consist from classic coil and the flat solenoid.

In iduction accelerator wserful only Al or Cu? but userlu only Al, this material has good magneric characteristic, but that rings which i use on video are wery light? and thin if i find rings somewhere 2-3times wider, efficiency of the accelerator will increase not less than twice

You could use steel rings if you give them permanant magnetic polarization, and use it as a repulsion gun instead of induction.

The steel could carry more kinetic energy.
