In general, ancient turkic tribes occupied different territories, mixed with indigenious people and formed modern nations which are mostly central asian ones. Among all of them the Kazakh and the Kyrgyz are the truly asian turkic steppe nomads.

@hakopera Actually Modern Mongolia doesn't encompass the entire early Turkic peoples. The Magyars, Bulgars and early Turks probably came further West in other parts of Central Asia (Most of the-stan countries and Southern Russia), which is why they don't look stereotypically as Asian as the Mongols.At least genetically, that's what historians believe lately, due to the fact that people like the Magyars have ancestral and DNA artifacts in areas around there, along with the Bulgar and early Huns..

Tolerant in a way. Hulagu's realm did show some favoritism toward christianity, most likely due to his wife and mother being a nestorian christian, no doubt. There in fact was lots of religious tensions in many parts of the mongol empire. In general, ancient turkic tribes occupied different territories, mixed with indigenious people and formed modern nations which are mostly central asian ones. Among all of them the Kazakh and the Kyrgyz are the truly asian turkic steppe nomads.

The Magyars, Bulgars and early Turks probably came further West in other parts of Central Asia (Most of the-stan countries and Southern Russia), which is why they don't look stereotypically as Asian as the Mongols.At least genetically, that's what historians believe lately, due to the fact that people like the Magyars have ancestral and DNA artifacts in areas around there, along with the Bulgar and early Huns..

Whenever someone gives you shit about the origin of the Turkish, remember that the language is always evidence of origin, not of current genes, but at least of origin. And the Turkish language is originally from Asia and is still currently spoken by many Asiatic ethnic groups in Central Asia. Turkish is not a European language! It is a very Asiatic language!

I think the mongolian were great warriors brilliant employers of strategy and despite having the image of being barbarians they were highly tolerant towards diverse religions. Tolerant in a way. Hulagu's realm did show some favoritism toward christianity, most likely due to his wife and mother being a nestorian christian, no doubt. There in fact was lots of religious tensions in many parts of the mongol empire. Many of the realms were quite autonomous and governed differently from one another and treated the local religious groups differently.
