Hey Americans aren't you happy that you sacrificed your middleclass jobs, to create those global consumer markets, for those multinationals. Now the third world can buy cars and gas for them. We should really be proud.
Consumption doubles every 10 years. (has been for the last 100 years) No way production can keep up with that. Thus, when production starts capping consumption prices will soar. No rocket science.
It's also not that terribly difficult to halve oil usage with minimal loss of quality of life(how exaclty is my quality of life improved by shipping water from the other side of the world, or hauling my ass around in 5 tonnes of steel, glass and rubber or getting heat from burning oil and gas instead of ground source heat pumps/district heating with better insulation or encasing food in excessive amounts of plastics?)
Ok, you heard it here first, KSA at 12 million barrels a day within the next five years. That's from the Mann financial genius (took over Refco's accounts) named John. Sorry, 2005 production figures have not been bettered. Looks like PO is here.

No it doesn't. You're stuck in the <1970's.

Remember, it's not an energy crisis, it's a liquid fuels crisis.
