I was amazed by the war on terror rhetoric propaganda into churches showing how god of wars are still very real. Hanging the competitors is actually pleasing the worshipers.
this is a load of rott, typical of americans who ramble on & on & on about nothing. listen closely, what they say makes little sense or "who cares". Its like an opera show, invent something to talk about.
Rev. Wrights comment that white people invented AIDS to kill black people is VERY off base, racist and offensive. The people in the discussion try to minimize his comment, and its seriousness. White people have EVERY right to be offended by this comment and ask questions of his association with a presidential candidate.
Rev Wright is responsible for his down fall because of his comments and because of discrimination from the white establishment.
Rev. Wright did not say that white people invented in the AIDS virus to destroy African Americans; what he said was that in light of the US government sponsored 40-year Tuskegee experiments (from 1932-1972)involving syphilis and unsuspecting African American subjects he wouldn't put anything past the US government today is simply refusing to have historical amnesia, as inconvenient as recalling recent history might be for some Americans. No reason to be "offended," just get educated.
@TripperLV Not really based on the Tuskegee study and the other medical abuses of this country. The truth is we don't know if the US created AIDS. We do know that the USA has used sexually trasmitted disease on people. So it's not off base. No white people dot have the right to be offended. What white people don't have the right to do is to declare themselves above reproach dispite the historical charges and evidence to the contrary.
@Ryooken - To assume white people are racist because they are white is racist. To assume all white agree or participated in this type of behavior is also racial bigotry. You're a racist!
@TripperLV Wrong on both counts not only I am I not assuming that all white people are racist but I am also not assuming that all white people willingly participated in white supremacy. Here is what history states that the majority of white people participated or were sympathetic to white supremacy. For you do deny this makes you a suspected racist. Would you like evidence or are you simply going to declare US history invalid?
@ivlfounder It doesn't matter when the government endorsed slavery and the denial of civil rights to people based on color. We are talking about racism not slavery. Slavery is a by product of racism.
@ivlfounder Oh it has in this country. In fact, it was specific that based on the docturine of exclusion was specific that all non-whites cannot enjoy the fruits of white society. I suggest you review the laws and stop playing games.
@ivlfounder Indentured servitude didn't last much beyond 1715. Chattel slavery as was practiced by Europeans again history would disagree with you. Cute answer though.
@Ryooken That reminds we were speaking of racism white supremacy not specifically just slavery. As slavery was a by product of racism white supremacy and not the main objective that is the issue. It's the total domination and control of non-white people in all 9 areas of activity. Whether other groups practiced servitude isn't the issue.
@ivlfounder Not only do I know what chattel slavery was, I also understand the Gullah Wars, Ben Frianklin's stance on slavery, Thomas Jefferson's stance and John Adams' stance on it as well.
I can't believe that this man honestly believes that Rev. Wright was speaking Truth. He is a racist! God doesn't define which color is acceptable in His sight, so who does "Reverend" Wright think he is? Black Liberation Theology teaches that God is for black and against white, and to kill whitey. I guess Obama won't mind having his "typical white person" grandmother murdered for God.
Rev. Wright spoke against US foreign policy and its affects on the world and how it has led to problems for the nation. HE wasn't wrong. The unyielding support of Israel and refusing to look at how Palestinians are being treated has hurt US' credibility and is one of the reasons the hijackers targeted the US. If people looked at US foreign policy and saw the truth they would understand where Wright is coming from.
At one point the gentleman is almost asked who the "they" are. That is an important question. Too bad it wasn't asked. Too bad it wasn't answered. You can't make a credible charge that there is a "strategy" unless you are able to identify a strategizer. And since the claim is that the strategy was targeted at discrediting African American religious discourse, rather than merely scoring political points, one has to assume that the "strategy" extends beyond Obama's immediate political opponents.
"Barack knows what it's like to be a black man in a country and in a culture controlled by rich white people" Who ran Fannie Mae, the most powerful government sponsored corporation in the world, & abused that power leading to the economic collapse that endangered the savings of people throughout the country? Franklin Raines: Democrat, Former White House Budget Director, Chairman & CEO of Fannie Mae. Was he white? No. Does it matter? No. Directing anger toward a race is racist & evil.
The"blame rich white people "line only works if the people to blame are" rich white people". Who should receive credit for the credit crisis? You started but didn't finish, I'll help you, Franklin Raines, black man, received $1.6 million as CEO of Fannie Mae. Who else should get credit? Senator Obama: received $126K from Fannie and Freddie, Senator Kerry: $111K, Senator Clinton: $76K, Speaker Pelosi: $56K, Rep Frank: $42K. Senator McCain, $20K. Investigate beyond the rhetoric and learn truth.
b4therapy says, "Who should receive credit for the credit crisis? You started but didn't finish, I'll help you, Franklin Raines, black man...."
Actually this is a scapegoat (and a race-baiting one at that).
This never really was a "credit crisis" but a crisis of the financial system as a whole that can, at the very least be traced to repealing the 1933 regulations of the financial industry in 1999. Even further, it is a crisis of the floating exchange rate ushered in under Nixon in 1971.
Using the term race-bating is offensive and racist. It is an ill-defined term that attempts to censor dissent by implying all dissention is racially motivated therefore the dissenter is racist. Because of the 500 character limit I felt focusing on the players was more important than the story line. However for very good summary and timeline: Search "themouthpiece -Burning Down The House: What Caused Our Economic Crisis?v3"
b4therapy says, "Using the term race-bating is offensive and racist."
We have entered a very interesting time when talking about racism is itself perceived as being "racist."
The narrative that you used was to locate the source of global financial collapse on poor people and black people via Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac, but the origin of the problem is bigger and older than that.
The narrative that you used (wherever you got it from) is race-baiting.
While you're right in a world of ethical absolutism, the reality is that white racism continues to cause actual harm to the real lives of black citizens while black racism is little more than harmless soundbites in all but the rarest cases. So, directing anger towards a race may be evil, but how can you blame a constant victim for feeling paranoid about his or her victimizer after centuries of abuse.
Your attempt at empathy for black people mirrors your own racist condescending expectations that they are incapable of competing in this world without your guidance, and protection. Furthermore blacks equal 12% of the vote; while whites equal 68% with 40% being Republican, now subtract the closet white racist, who's left? Like it or not, needlessly alienating white people is political suicide, and is exactly what Republicans are counting on.
You either didn't read what I wrote, or you've willfully decided to dismiss anyone with an opposing viewpoint is racist. To be honest, it smacks of re-direction, of deflecting claims of racism by being the first to call racism. You'll notice I never called you or anyone racist (and I still haven't, in case you were about twist my words again).
Based on what? I only know four people who were clearly without a doubt physically assaulted because of their race. Three were white, one was Asian, and one spent a lot of time in the hospital. I am sick and tired of people assuming that only one race is the only major victim of racism. Today, that's just not true. Directing anger toward a race is exactly what has sparked genocide in the past. I blame them then and I blame them now. Don't repeat the mistakes of the past.

The world has seen that the majority of Americans didn't buy into this supposed Farrakhan-ization of Obama propaganda.
:)
Still, 57 million Americans did buy into it.

Thank you for your comment to my previous post and I appreciate your thoughts. It is my understanding that he said the quote below.
White America invented HIV to kill off blacks -- Rev. Wright

Dear lord someone who knows what chattel slavery was!
I could kiss you dude.
"peculiar institution" doesn't do justice to just how insane the history of slavery in the USA was.
I suspect most of the founders knew it was wrong but also knew the south was addicted to it & wouldn't join the Union were banned.
Slavery, slave laws, and the addiction just got worse over the years till all hell broke loose after Lincoln was elected.
If you haven't read up on Ben Frankin & slavery do so.

That's ridiculous! The guy IS a racist! Rev Wright is a big time racist and you're upset that a videotape was made revealing this fact?
