  • ok i have an issue like when i load up i always feel off balance can u help?thanks

  • @AmazingHockeySniper8 your ankles bend hard

  • his stick is like bent at 0:16

  • your beast at slapshot with accurecy

  • is that a u+ pro or crazylight?

  • i tried your tip and it worked thanks alot guys! =D

  • @metropolous33 I like to hit it around the middle of the blade to the back cause then it can roll off when you make contact with it

  • @dd1184 all you have to do is transfer your weight when you shoot you will get a lot more power...even weighing 90 pounds if you can get it from your back leg to your front and take a bit of ice with you it will work...just transfer all 90 pounds and hit the ice first...hope things work out

  • im a skinny 14 year old a weigh onlly 90 pounds... i shoot decently but i dont really put much power into it...... any tips?

  • You didn't mention it, but as a forward I would like to know, are D men taught to keep the puck low with point shots?

Reason I ask is that I was battling in front of the net to screen the goalie the other week and the defender on my team managed to whistle the puck past my face!

  • @ComradeOblivious yeah we mentioned it in some of our other videos and articles. D-men should always shoot low when there is traffic in front, better chance of the puck making it to the net, and less chance of injuring their own players.

  • @howtohockeydotcom Always good to remind folk of it though, even with a helmet on a well struck puck can make a mess of your head!

  • @howtohockeydotcom ....So true, I got hit in the side of the helmet in the last game I played while I was shoving people out of the front of the net

  • why the fuck does he have a yellow ccm u+

  • i have tht stick :D

  • where on the blade would you recommend making contact with the puck? also, what should the angle of the blade be when shooting?

  • ok i have a question alright i 15 and its my first year and i can do everything backwards but stop and i was wondering if you could make a video that shows me a way to practise it plz and thanks if you can

  • @howtohockeydotcom oh that's why he looked curved.

  • his stick isn't straight

  • lol his stick is curved=) in the middle

  • @nathanpoon Wide angle lens ;) makes straight things look curved!

  • @howtohockeydotcom lol i thought it was because he's been using the stick for so long his stick started to curl

  • @howtohockeydotcom isnt your stick curved from flexing so much

  • lefty eh

  • It's probably just an optical illusion, but your stick looks bent around 15-20 seconds in, it's weird.

  • @CoheedMars90 Wide angle lens ;)

  • @CoheedMars90 fish eye lens

  • thank you so much ! that really help !!! :)

  • On the ice I learned to take a slap shot while skating first before standing still, and I still take a better one while skating than standing still

  • ive watched all the slapsot videos but i cant get the puck off the ground, sometime i can but its just luck...any advice?

  • @kylebaja123 Practice is key.

  • @kylebaja123 Put your one hand lower on the stick.

  • @kylebaja123 Practice like crazy, and keep working on the proper technique. I would say MAKE SURE you hit the ground / ice first, this is key. It flexes the stick and gives you more lift. Beginners usually get this wrong and try to cheat. Make sure you have the right size and flex stick as well.

  • @howtohockeydotcom hey uhm can you give us some pointers on one timers cause i have a bullet of a slap shot im 230 pounds last i checked and i cant seem to get as much power on it or keep my balance to get more power on one timers

  • @kylebaja123 My slapshot has sucked until recently when I learned 2 important lessons. 1, if you can, keep your eye on the puck, it improves accuracy and makes you less likely to whiff, and 2) hit the toe of your stick first. It sounds like BS, but if the toe hits the ice 6" behind the puck the stick will flex and you will get the true curve of your stick involved.

As for rule 1, its not necessary, and I'd never encourage a player not to have their head up, but you may need to eyeball it.

  • @secti0n31 wtf dude dont keep ur eye on the puck, ull get dusted

  • @ry4nx Yeah, you'll also get dusted if you wind up to your shoulders like Ken did. The trick to a slapper is to get it off FAST. So what if I get smoked, as long as it's after the shot's off, I'll live.

  • It only took me 15 years to get a hard, accurate slapper. Don't be discouraged

  • @kylebaja123 push down on the stick and create whip then release like a wrist shot (pointing at your target) should get it up for you.

  • @kylebaja123 I think as howtohockeydotcom has explained already, is simply practice over and over again. Take a half swing instead. On your follow-through, try to 'open' your blade facing the ceiling rather than turn it over. You might have better success this way. Good luck.

  • @kylebaja123 one bit of advice is turning your top hand over like using the throttle on a motorcycle if you watch him in this video you can see how his hand is turned over

  • @kylebaja123 I teach my High School Team the Tip it Grip it and Rip it. 1) Take your Bottom Hand Off Stick 2) Point the Tip of the stick at the net 3) Grip the Stick in the exact same position as it is pointed at the net. Dont roll it back, It should feel a little akward 4) Wind Up as usual but now roll your hand back, Strike the Ice First about 3-6 " behind the puck. Drive down into the ice hard and follow through, Point the tip of the stick at the net on the follow through.

  • @kylebaja123

There shots went from an Average of 59-62 mph to 70-77mph in 2 weeks. (We used a Radar Gun I bought to measure speed). The shots were more accurate and way harder. They are all pretty good players A, AA Level

  • what stick is that?
