i remember this, cuz it was my wifes and my first wedding anniversary and we at the time were living at great oaks and it got nasty out, bt not as bad as where this was filmed
I think this years gunna be a good year for strong celled storms due to all the snow we got and the types of blizzards. I live in boone so its pretty much next door if you guys still chase itll be good this year.
I live about 30 miles west of kingston and we had the same storm go through our town and the weather channel called it a microburst. I didnt believe them because we had trees that were twisted and pulled out of the ground, but some of them werent even touched. I know it was more than a microburst. And the storm looked exactly like yours does in the vid
Was trying some very amateur chasing on for size that day... wound up in the Elmhurst area with a tornado passing within 100-200 yards behind my car, and of course it was pitch black so there's no record of it... a little TOO successful, I guess.
Easily the most intense storm I've been through in Chicago...I've never seen so many damaged and down tree limbs in my life...that is until I get further away from the city and do some ACTUAL storm chasing....
Wow, I remember that storm as well. I remember commenting to my friend at the lack of a tornado watch right before the tornado sirens went off. In DeKalb, there were some monster straight line winds. It was awesome!
kingston, IL then chicago IL, then Gary, IN then Michian City, IN then Glittech, IN then South bend, IN that i live, Soutern elkart, IN then to middle of Ohio
I remember this i live around Kingston well pretty close

I am so lucky where I live! We dont have any tsunami or tornado warnings in my city. Probably because of the Cascades and the Rockys.

In aurora we got hail and heavy wind that day. And tons of rain.
we were all in the basement waiting.
probably one of the worst storms in my lifetime here in N. IIlinois.

I was on my way to Kingston but was about to get rolled by the storm so I retreated back top Creston and rode it out in a car wash.

That was a heck of a windy storm and did some damage. A silo in Creston was bent like a pop can. I was on that storm myself in eastern Ogle county.
