Don't worry. I already planned that. Maybe I'll EV train Tentacruel in HP rather than Special Attack, however, to get the most out of Mirror Coat. Or maybe I won't use Mirror Coat at all.
I get a lot of PP Ups because I trade a lot using the GTS. I get a lot of Trainer IDs, so I get a high chance of getting a PP Up from Jubilife Lottery. (As it stands, I have about a 60% chance.)
If your Pokemon are lower than lvl 50 (when you battle in a lvl 50 battle), will its level be raised and its stats too, or will it just stay the same??
Will the stats also be raised so that it will be upgraded to the appropriate stats for that level? what if you give it medicines like Iron and Calcium??
EVs will be reflected in the Pokémon's stats in PBR. The more vitamins you give the Pokémon, the higher the Pokémon's stats will become when you copy them to PBR. The same goes for if you keep doing this after Level 50: The stats will still change.
The moves on the Pokémon when you copy them to PBR will be the moves they'll have on PBR.
I couldn't make it to the Darkrai event - this makes the second event in a row that I couldn't make it to (Manaphy) and I still am never able to get any event Pokemon.
Anyways, this was an excellent match. I like them when they're really close like this - it reaffirms my position of never giving up even if the odds seem to be against you.
I know there's no way you can get to NYC, but Pokémon World is apparently going to continue their Darkrai event for another two weeks. Of course, if you're taking a road trip to the Big Apple, why not visit?
By the way, this is the third Toys R Us event Pokémon. Toys R Us gave away Mew in September 2006.
In this match, I had a plan. I knew what I'd do over the next two turns. I know when to throw in the towel, like say, a Pokémon with no priority moves in the red against a faster foe.
Dont know why they released Darkrai via mystery gift and not the Newmoon Island one. It would be bizarre to get a Darkrai without Spacial Rend or Roar of time. A pity I cant get Darkrai, even if i am not using it for online play since UK recieved no darkrai events yet.
Funny that you mentioned Darkrais but I officially got a Timid Darkrai (so lucky beause this other guy got an Adamant Darkrai). It kind of sucks that the people couldn't get the Darkrai through the Member Pass....poor child who still has nightmares in Canalave City.
Actually, when I was in line, this girl didn't pass me the type chart and that shiny picture of Dialga and Palkia. It didn't look that significant to me and I have a site that enables users to see various results a type chart. For example, have you ever wondered the type results for a GRASS/DRAGON?
Why don't you have Eruption on your Camerupt? I think it's a great move. Gigatitan has a Camerupt with eruption and it sweeps trough every battle. (in Trickroom, but still)
Because I hav e a different approach for Camerupt. Remember that Eruption is at its full power only when its user is at full HP, and Camerupt's Speed gives it no position to use Eruption without assistance.
Typhlosion, on the other hand, CAN properly use Eruption. Especially with a Choice Scarf.
They hack for Darkrais. And Shaymins and Arceuses. It's jsut that the latter two are still universally banned from Wi-Fi, which is why we haven't seen them yet.
That was theoretically what would have happened if that first Icy Wind wasn't a critical hit. Camerupt is able to take out any of these four in one hit.
Ah, my favorite of your teams. That Mawile/Sableye combination is really impressive. It actially inspired me to train a Sableye of my own, and I've yet to be dissapointed by it's performance.
As for the Darkrai thing, I'd love to get one just to have, or use in Uber matches, but I'll probably just trade for someone else's.
Sableye is difficult to get right. Its stats, while balanced, are all pretty low across the board, and it learns a high amount of disruptive moves. Sableye is very tactical.
You really shouldn't be scared of these Darkrai. Since it's the Movie one (from what I heard) and it will be at level 45, these "trainers" will probably just stick Darkrai into their teams the minute they get it which means no Dark Void.
Plus, let's not forget that your Masquerain (with Choice Scarf) will outspeed Darkrai and Bug Buzz can knock it down, so no problem.
As for this battle, Sucker Punch saved your butt big time. lol.
lol. Mainly because we didn't know 100% of Darkrai's full potential. Now that we have counters (Lum berry, Choice Scarf, Fake Out with a destructive move, etc.), owning the Darkrai are a matter of knowing that the trainers will bring it out first.
I have one, but I'd never think about using it on Wi-fi. WAY too cheap...and boring if I kept winnning with Dark Void instead of something strategic like Trick Room.
Well, that and how Japanese are more likely to know the hidden game mechanics and actually EV-train their Darkrais in Speed. My Choice Scarf Pokémon are equivalent to a little bit above 110 Speed, so an EV-trained Darkrai is still likely to outrun them anyway.
Best counter then: 2-on-2 Trick Room team with a lot of usual fast Pokemon with the Iron Orb to throw them off. lol. Just kidding.
Well, you're an awesome trainer and I'm pretty sure that you can find your way around them. Who knows? Dark Void has a 20% chance of missing and maybe that'll be on your favor sometime.
Oddly (in response to Overhazard), since so many people are confident that Darkrai will just put everyone to sleep that they'll whether give them nothing, Wide Lens, or Wise Glasses. A lot of no0bs do that apparently.
I have a Trick Room team that has annihilated many uber teams, so that strategy would work if you want to make that kind of team although mine is obvious because EVERYBODY is slow. I should think about fast Pokemon with Iron Orbs...lol.
Hey, no worries. I have confidence in ya. My teams however need a bit of work against them...I just made a new UU/BL team (although Snorlax is the only non-UU/BL in there) and I'm not too sure of it...
I actually work independently of tiers aside from Uber; there's sometimes an OU or two in there, but only because I like those guys. For instance, Tentacruel will be in my next team.
Totally going to make a Physical sweeper Darkrai if I can get an adamant one. It' a lot less cheap (and I plan no hypnosis or dark void). Think it would work?
I underestimated Glaceon's ability to damage Mawile, and I was more worried about Earth Powers coming from Dialga. That would have wrecked Mawile entirely.
When you say you get darkrai you mean the event takes effect or it just goes to your pc? Also good battle, your opponent's pokemon remind me a lot of some of my own =S Too bad I don't have PBR.
This Darkrai will be a Mystery Gift. A man will appear in the first Poké Mart you enter, and if you have space on your team, he'll put that Darkrai into it. You don't get any items to unlock the Canalave City motel or anything.
I had figured people living in remote areas would have trouble. Then again, it's not easy to get in touch with people from remote areas. You hve the internet though, so perhaps Nintendo can try doing it through the internet next.
Mawile ftw lol. I must suggest to you to take out Psych up from Golduck, that attack is a waste as there is no garantee that your opponent will actually stat up and you dont stat up either. Add in focus blast for more coverage or Psychic, it will surely help you in the long term.
As for Sableye, you should really consider shadow sneak over shadow claw,a priority move can really come in handy on a poke with only base 50 in speed, mostly you will get knocked out before you can even attack.
I was thinking about replacing Psych Up for a long time now, though I'm still not sure what ove would be the most suitable for the situations I end up in. One thing I should've done, however, was use Psych Up after enough Icy Winds to cancel them out.
This Sableye was EV trained in Defense and has a +Defense Nature. I had expected physical attacks out of Dialga, which she would have almsot certainly survived. While Shadow Sneak would be pretty nice, I like Shadow Claw's high critical hits.
I found mawile quite psychological in the snese that you had suckerpunch, which relies on a attacking move. most people then switch to a non attacking move, which is when u use focus punch.
Ah yes, I got that idea from a Kecleon I faced a while back. I'm bad at predicting, however, which is why I just put up a Substutite.
Still, I hadn't thought of that. I rarely use Mawile psychologically, however, since I can never really tell if they're going to attack or not until very late into the match.
I don't know if I'm getting a Darkrai...while I wouldn't use it myself, I may find a decent use for one on the forums if I get one with a good nature.
I'll be getting a Darkrai, as I'll call it a birthday present of mine and because a Darkrai would look nice on my PC.
I got a lot more respect for Darkrai after seeing its good-guy role in the 10th movie, but nevertheless, Darkrai will still be the 2nd most annoying Pokémon to deal with. (#1 is Giratina.)
Yeah, I hate Darkrais. They may not be EV trained though keep that in mind. Primeapes are a good pokemon to use against it due to it being fighting type and having vital spirit
This team I used is prepared to combat Darkrai, that's for sure. I'm just going to get sick of seeing them so much, and it won't be quite as interesting to play. At least, not as interesting as tonight's matches.

I thought Dark Void's accuracy was higher than that. It keeps going down...I thought it was 100% at first. Then 95%. Then 90%.
A Trick Roomer with a Lum Berry would certainly throw Darkrai for a loop. I just wonder how many will hold Focus Sashes.
Overhazard 3 years ago
Dark Void's Accuracy is 80 IIRC

Response to greeneee, he is OU now. Don't know why. Go to Smogon to figure it out.
ARodYankFan 3 years ago
For an OU, I haven't seen much of him. Weird.
Probably because elemental punches are now regular attacks or something like that.
greeneee789 3 years ago
Well, even then, with its defenses that high, and with Belly Drum and Sitrus Berry along with Trick Room, you can't beat it.
ARodYankFan 3 years ago
What, it gets belly Drum now? B-B-B-BROKEN
greeneee789 3 years ago
Not really broken, but it can be beastly if the Snorlax is trained right. Either way, that's one of the few reasons as to why it's an OU now.
ARodYankFan 3 years ago
Not exactly, Trick room with the other guy having, say, Dialga, Regigigas and other heavy, slow ubers then you just put yourself in a lot of trouble.
