@stunterz100 hii the error is something to do with your Screen recorder which you are trying to use while playing COD or the graphics card or other third party software..what I suggest you is try playing the game without any other program running n also try reinstalling to a better video driver version which you had before or get the latest one...hope that helped

@bgbgeee Ok.Could be following reasons mate 1) If you are on vista/windows 7 right click and choose Run as admin on setup file. 2).Dont Run setup from dvd, Copy all files to a folder in hard drive n try then installing from there it might help 3)It could be possible that virus program would have infected or antivirus itself would prevent the setup from running so try disabling the antivirus program you are using and then try running the setup again..

@zTrueFear allright...looks like some video problem try with latest graphic card drivers that might help...coz cod 2 being a very old game might run cool...but for mw try with new drivers..!

@iicure oh ok..there is a funny workaround for this but give it a try many have found it to work..u need to plug in a microphone into the pink slot of your sound card and then start the game...hopefully u wont get that error ..might sound weird even i have observed many peoples comments that it works ...try...!

@TheFastswap Hi can you tell me exactly what realyl happens when the disc reads? did u try to get into the disk contents in my computer? is it blank or trying to read? possible drive gone bad or the cod disk itself...try running the disc in some other computer..you might get a hint.. !

1)could be becoz of overheating issue of ur computer hardware

2)does it happen only with cod-4? (try playing the cod4 in a very low graphics setting and observe the issue)

3)could be also coz of corrupted operating system or virus issue

What u can do?

1)try playing someother game n check whether u have same issue..!

2)Have your computer checked by a computer technician regarding heat issues or any similiar

@GilkzMedia yeah it shoud be running pretty cool..but dont run it on high graphics settings let it be set to medium and playable mode...for better game experience as high settings might cause slowdown a bit..!

@JRajashekar yeah, well I finally got Stereo Mix to show up, just download and install the "Realtek High Definition Audio Driver for Windows 7" restart, and it will then show the Stereo Mix :-)

but I shouldn't even have to do it, it should already be there.

sure mate i ll try to help you on this..first run dxdiag on your start run box and press enter ...direct x dialog box opens and in that note down the processor ram and then goto display tab get me the name of your graphics card as well..!

sure it did work in my case...is your sound drivers installed properly?and ur able to listen audio?can you give another try following my video closely and do exactly the same as it is? if not please reinstall the sound driver using your motherboard CD and try these steps again...good luck mate..let me know the status...!!
