Ur lessons r great. I'm a 41 yr old metalhead who is a beginner at guitar and ur lessons have helped give me a foundation to build on. Could u please teach a lesson on drop D tuning. I can never get that right. Thanks for your videos and i look forward to ur future teachings.

I have an epiphone les paul and the weight is really nice and i am really getting used to it, but my friend has an sg and it is really easy to get to those high frets and even hough it is lighter, it feels really nice also. Should i get that as it is easier to play?

How is that Epiphone working out? I bought an Epiphone Les Paul once... it was a great looking, playing and sounding guitar, but the finish was shit! The frets were sticking out on one end, and the knobs broke off in the first week. I returned it and got a used wolfgang for $900, and sold that wolfgang for $2250!
It's working out great for me thanks dude. The tuners did break on me but I replaced them. But I've never had other problems like that! That sucks man. But I guess it worked out with your new guitar.
Thanks dude for sure, no problem. I'd suggest starting out learning some easy Metallica songs like For Whom The Bell Tolls. If you want to play even easier stuff, you can learn some AC/DC. Regardless of if it's easy or not, focus on playing cleanly and very accurately.
The best gauge strings are whatever are comfortable for you and give you the best sound for the tuning you play in. Personally, I like to use D'Addario 11's for lower tunings like those.
Hey man, I like 11 guage, but I would have to say, the thicker the string, the heavier the sound. If you want more umph in your playing, something rugged, then play heavier guage. It is, like he said, what you wanna hear, though. If you like heavier sounds, then higher guages are needed. I play in a 13 guage string.
Well I think it's a great guitar. I've had mine for a long time and I've loved it. I'd say try out the guitars your friends say are better and make the decision yourself. But be warned, most people seem to think that the SG is a bad guitar because it isn't a fancy "metal" guitar like an ESP or something or because it doesn't have a Floyd Rose.

Sure dude. I actually have both, heh. I think the G400 is a better choice for hard rock and metal, but the Stratocaster is good for rock and blues. It's all about the style of music you want to play.
Yes, the price difference was a big factor. The G400 was $400 or so, and the Gibson was $900 or so. The Gibson has neck binding (which is purely cosmetic), better pickups, better tuners, in my opinion a cooler looking pickguard, better quality, and of course the Gibson name. I replaced the bridge pickup and tuners for a total of about $150, and I haven't had any problems with the quality or craftsmanship. I can live without the brand name and cosmetics, so I saved about $350.

Hey, hopefully you read this. I got a Jackson King V JS-30 and I have videos of me playing some Metallica songs. For the most part I'm hesitating to stay in rhythm with the song. I need some advice on what I'm doing wrong and how to stay in sync with the song because I need to know how you do so damn good.
Sure dude. I'd say you might be concentrating on playing the riffs too much and not listening to the drums enough. Make sure you listen to the drums and listen to the little cues that help you stay on beat. Playing with a live drummer would help too.
Personally I think the differences are minimal. I got an Epiphone when I didn't have enough money to buy a Gibson. Even though I could afford a Gibson now, I just wouldn't bother because I've played Gibsons and they are pretty much exactly the same, except for some cosmetic differences, and of course a few hundred dollars. I don't spend money just because I have it. I don't think I'm an idiot.

Hahah! I certainly do, but since my bed is somewhat large (full size) and my room is tiny, there is like two feet between me and my camera, and I'm right up against the bed frame. So I always move the covers and blankets over when I record YouTube videos because I don't want my chair to rub up against them and get it dirty.

Well, as I said in the lesson, aspiring to be a great guitarist is a huge undertaking. It requires a big sacrifice, and a lot of patience. I had to make an introduction to talk about what you will expect from my guitar lesson series. If you want to see me play some shit instead of talk so fucking much, I have about fifty or so videos you can watch. If you want to learn from my skills, you need to be patient and understand why I made this video.

Please Help Me Red Sg Shredder!!!Ok so my Dad bought me a Jackson JS30RR a couple of weeks ago.I heard that the guitar had alot of buzz so i took the back of the guitar off.I played on it for about a week more and one day I plugged it in and nothing came out.So i figured that it was a cable so i went and bought another one and nothing still.I hope you can help me.

I used to play metal on an acoustic guitar like 5 yers ago for 2 years, i got pretty good but i stopped cause it didn't sounded like i wanted and I was too young and 2 poor to buy some real guitar. Hey, hopefully you read this. I got a Jackson King V JS-30 and I have videos of me playing some Metallica songs. For the most part I'm hesitating to stay in rhythm with the song. I need some advice on what I'm doing wrong and how to stay in sync with the song because I need to know how you do so damn good.

Sure dude. I'd say you might be concentrating on playing the riffs too much and not listening to the drums enough. Make sure you listen to the drums and listen to the little cues that help you stay on beat. Playing with a live drummer would help too.

Personally I think the differences are minimal. I got an Epiphone when I didn't have enough money to buy a Gibson. Even though I could afford a Gibson now, I just wouldn't bother because I've played Gibsons and they are pretty much exactly the same, except for some cosmetic differences, and of course a few hundred dollars. I don't spend money just because I have it. I don't think I'm an idiot.

Epiphones are good guitars in lieu of a Gibson.
I've got an Epiphone SG and it sounds just as good as some of the Gibsons.

Hahah! I certainly do, but since my bed is somewhat large (full size) and my room is tiny, there is like two feet between me and my camera, and I'm right up against the bed frame. So I always move the covers and blankets over when I record YouTube videos because I don't want my chair to rub up against them and get it dirty.

wow, really calm down it takes time to learn how to play a guitar first an foremost is the "buying part" if you buy a shitty guitar you wont be able to do much. If you want to see people play then search "guitar playing" not lessons because sometimes lessons are boring but guess what learning to play a guitar is like being in school and it requires certain aspects of playing. though i do agree you should demonstrate the skills you are teaching a bit ^_^ helpful Critisizm

Well, as I said in the lesson, aspiring to be a great guitarist is a huge undertaking. It requires a big sacrifice, and a lot of patience. I had to make an introduction to talk about what you will expect from my guitar lesson series. If you want to see me play some shit instead of talk so fucking much, I have about fifty or so videos you can watch. If you want to learn from my skills, you need to be patient and understand why I made this video.

Well I talked about my bed because I got "tagged". You can search around on YouTube if you don't know what that is all about. Anyway, if you want to see me play guitar, I have plenty of other videos for that. This series is to teach you about guitar. Also, one of the main points I made is that you must have patience in order to be a great guitarist. So trust me, 10 minutes is nothing.
