  • Nice job and thanks for doing this. Nice to see it on a video versus in the manual. Shouldn't the video should end with retightening the clutch cable adjuster? Seems obvious but I'd be the guy posting asking why the clutch doesn't work anymore...

  • Good job. Txs man.

  • hard breathing? you may have to lose a few pounds.

  • im getting lot of rpm without my bike going any faster. is that the problem of autoclutch? and it's hard to kickstart my bike when it's cold. what shud i do?

  • It looks easy when your bike isn't rusted and the bolts are ceased :P

  • Jerry, I appreciate the video's. I watched this when I made my first run at oil changes and still use them as a refresher everytime I need to change oils. Thanks for sharing.

  • Using the wrench backwards.

  • Jerry...Thank you for the video. Nicely done. Answered all my questions. Appreciate your time investment. Best regards...BNT

  • Thank you God Bless you, this info was very important to me.

  • Jerry nicely done. Thanks for a great video. I know many people when public speaking get a raise in blood pressure and becomes hard to breath I have seen it many times at conferences when people are speaking and I have done it myself sometimes you get nervous. And I run 3-5 miles 3 time a week. Of course I also didn't have a microphone right by my mouth to catch every sound I make either. To those criticizing when someone does something nice for you. Try to have some class about it.

  • Its very possible the guy has COPD which causes just about everything you do to make you out of breath.

His info was very helpful. Thanks for the video, Jerry.

  • jesus hes out of breath from talking

  • did he just run to work?

  • he's so out of shape and fat (or as i say he's so american) he got out of breath just puling on the cable ahahahah

  • Hi Jerry,

thanks for the Vid. Done within 20 Minutes.

  • jerrys' next video...how to adust my belt buckle

  • He's just a little nervous

  • Thanks for the video!

  • Why is he breathing so hard? I think Jerry is dead by now :/

  • its an...alright video? could be alot better. but it gives a good general idea on what to do.

there is however a tourqu for that jam nut jerry.

  • Not sure why anyone is giving this guy dislikes. His videos are very helpful.

  • I've been repairing bikes for years for extra money and I never really did much with Harleys except the 1980 1000cc Sportster I had. The only thing I have to ask about this video is why the clutch basket is offset from the center of the cover. It looks like a bearing blew and the trans shaft fell.

  • Thanks Jerry for the videos there great help!

  • Thanks for the info. Video's like yours help me out. I have rode bikes since the 70s and what's behind the covers has always been a mystery to me. I was always spending a fortune for what were seemingly simple repairs. Since I started riding Harley's 3 years ago I wanted to learn how to do some of the minor maintenance myself. I have learned a lot thanks to guys like you.

  • Thanks for the Video, I have been putting this off, but it is getting done today. My road King is not going into neutral, do you think this would help?

  • A torque wrench can be used if wanted, just use a crow's foot socket.

  • Adjusted for what? Can someone explain why you'd need to do this...?

  • great vid

  • Jerry, Thanks big time for this informative vid, this vid makes the info in the service manual more logical, it's always helpful when you can "look over a shoulder" and see it done.

    Gene

  • This guy looks like hes gonna have a heart attack from talking. Thumbs up if you think Expert Village is horrible.

  • YOUR VID STILL HOLDS WATER MR. FISCHEL.Thankyou.

  • Me thinx ninjaman1138 has way too much spare time.

    LOL

  • it works whit sport bikes??

honda cbr600 2003 to be exactly

  • @MrDGonzalez5 No a CBR 600 is a real bike. you would only adjust for wear in the plates with the minor adjuster at the lever and major adjustments at the actuator arm. adjust free play at the lever to 2-3 MM "1mm=.040IN". If there is still slippage or lack of feel, clutch springs, friction, or steel plates may have to be replaced.

  • @KTMchris300 Just like a ricer thinks a 600 a real bike 45 horses hahaha thats sad

  • @KTMchris300 Just like a ricer thinks a 600 a real bike 45 horses hahaha thats sad your watching a Hearly vidio

  • Jerry, Thank you for donating your time to do this, very handy info to have and well detailed.. Ride safe brother>>

  • Love your videos. I want to see more, but you need to get on the tread mill and get in shape bud.

    Don;t wanna lose you.

  • Great Vid!

    Thanks Mr. Fishel

  • jerry great video

  • is it a dime or nickel for the free play?

  • dime.

  • This video will be a great complement to my English classes. Thank you.

  • thanks for the video, very helpful

  • Im having a problem where after i changed the clutch pack in my 97 900rr honda, the engine revs up but wen i select a gear the bike literally is going. HEEELLLPPPPP!!!

  • hey i dont know mutch about bikes, but i think your clutch is to tight, its constantly engaged.. oh, you commented 3 months ago.. i guess you found what was the problem?

    was it that?

  • Great film Well worth a look. Nice demo. Terence.

  • thanks for the videos...seems i forget things when i make videos, too...lol ...i guess i'm thinking too much on what to say...lol anyways, great videos...i learned something new

  • pace yourself don"t get winded you might drop an $80.00 billet derby or round your nut

  • Cut me a little slack. Its was 105 degrees in the shop that day. NO customers bikes were damage in the making of this video, that is my bike and I hate myself for being sweaty & nervous. Luckily I still won the local bike show with it.

  • wheres your offset box wrench yoda?

  • In my tool box. I should have used it. just got nervous being on tape.

  • hey, thanks for the video, i have a 1982 suzuki sp125, it starts but every gear feels like its in neutral, it just revs and slightly moves forwards. does this tutorial apply on a dual sport as on your harley?

  • So this is why Harley shops charge so much and always break stuff. : )

  • @toddy1968 they break stupp because others use red locktite. or they don't use torque wrenches

  • alans got long balls lol

  • use an offset box end wrench

  • You are correct I should have used a offset box end wrench. First time on video I was nervous, clumsy & forgetful. I will endeavor do do better in the future.

  • cut down on the pies Jerry - youre heading for a heart attack

  • "...... ah what the hell you call this???"\

    :) hehe

no. in all honesty, a very helpful video

  • Get the shop manual.

  • is it the same way on a dirt bike??

  • Great vid, thanks Jerry!

  • thanks

  • Thank you!!!

  • thanks

  • What does it mean anyway when it says to activate the clutch lever to make sure the balls are seated in the ramps? And why didn't you do that part? It also says your supposed to cycle the clutch 3 times to set ball and ramp release mechanism.

  • Thanks for the info bro. I was at a loss when I read how to do that in my manual.

  • Make sure the primary is COOL before adjustment because the clutch plates expand under heat and the adjustment won't be correct,it could still slip.

  • Very very helpful...Thank You very much.

  • Jerry, Thanks for the help. Saved me mucho $.

  • damn the man's always out of breaf..

  • Sure do appreciate Jerry taking the time to help other bikers. You people that do the personal attacks on him are nothing but rude, and unappreciative assholes. Keep up the good work Jerry :)

  • sounds like someones coming into the shop @ 2:47

  • It is called an allen key or hex key!!

  • good info thanks for the video...need to further up with more infor on the finish adjustment on the cables...thanks Lyndog

  • Good video I knew how to adjust the cable just not the clutch under the derby cover. Thanks for the info.

  • Some people are so harsh. The video gives the information you're after... People are worried cos there's a big man hosting - sheesh.

Most people would be reluctant to make comment on a host's race, so why any other physicality.

For the record, the big guy image fits the bill for quite a few Harley riders, make sense that Harley wrenches are the same.

In future, maybe Katie Couric can host these sorts of videos for the discerning armchair dieticians out there.

  • This video is awesome. but i really pity the guy. he needs a lot of exercise. and go on low fat food.

  • that poor guy is so fat that he is running out of breath without doing anything.

  • so true video start and he sound like he ran a marathon lol

  • Come on, some people get nervous when they're on camera and it messes with their breathing patterns... give the guy the benefit of the doubt
