BS! IT's NOT okay for world leaders to be members of secret societies, such as skull and bones, free masonry, the illuminati. Their members, practices, beliefs, history, and overall goals are known to us. There is overwhelming evidence that prove who they are, and what they have done to affect our world. All of us should be concerned about what they do, because it DOES affect our lives, and has throughout history. JFK was very against secret societies, as he knew about what they are all about
They should read the book "The Creature from Jekyll Island" about the modern Federal Reserve... there is a difference between conspiracy theory and conspiracy fact. These guys just do enough research on conspiracies as they are so focused on religion, which is ok...
I love to listen to people who are actually good at critical thinking versus people who think that believing in the Illuminati conspiracy theory is good critical thinking.
holio84 said "I think scull and bones have rituals designed to turn you into a sociopath in order to make you better in business and government." Well, I think that describes most of the people who enroll in Ivy League colleges in the first place. Considering that most high-level politicians invariably come from a handful of the top most prestigious schools (Harvard, Yale, etc.) and had had high GPAs, it's not too surprising that they ended up in some same honor societies.
@holio84 I'm saying that the stereotypical "over-achiever" types, whose single goal in life is to be an elite businessman or plastic surgeon or US cabinet member, ARE rather sociopathic by their nature. Also, they invariably enroll in schools like Harvard or Princeton or Yale, and THEN are invariably tapped by their campus's elitist honor society. But you're claiming instead that their over-achiever attitude and success is brainwashing, solely due to...college clubhouse ceremonies?
@geezerbill "...the stereotypical "over-achiever" types, whose single goal in life is to be an elite businessman or plastic surgeon or US cabinet member, ARE rather sociopathic by their nature..." This fits nicely with Douglas Adams' theory (in The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy) : Anyone capable of attaining a position of power is by definition obviously not to be trusted with any (power).
If you define that as a conspiracy, alright. Then there are real conspiracies... although mostly when people talk about conspiracy theories they talk about stuff like 9/11 being an inside job, ZOG, Nibiru, Bilderberg group, Skulls and Bones etc. By the comparision I just wanted to show that your definition is lame =) So I guess we're really just arguing over the definition and not the actual conspiracies.
Nah, I wouldn't count that as a conspiracy theory. There's really no conspiracy... it was just the government having bad motives. If, on the other hand, you'd proposed that Halliburton made GWB president in order for him to start the war against Iraq you'd have a conspiracy theory.
And I wasn't really fair in my first comment. Some "conspiracy theories" are based on good ground, but 99% aren't. Think Watergate vs Planet X Nibiru kinda stuff.
Yeah, the people in power look out for themselves. So what? That's not a conspiracy... The bail out is just stupid politics. Cheney wasn't CEO of Halliburton during his time as vice president, by the way. There's no "men behind the curtain", just greedy and stupid people in power.
But it is well known politicians take care of a company in exchange for a cushy well paid job after politics Such as Cheney and Haliburton. Not a big conspiracy but a conspiracy none the less.
I think the main point of the question was missed. That the organizations(secret societies) members meet together and decide policy that effect the general population, not to benefit the population but to benefit the organization and its members. It would be "unamerican". as it would be non-democratic, and against the principles of the republic.
"A nation can survive its fools... but it cannot survive treason from within. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their
arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear."
The CFR does have some power into controlling foreign policy, these guys did not address that group, and this CFR group is not a secret society, but yeah, it's restricted for the general public.
Technically, you're not a conspiracy theorist until you come up with a theory. Furthermore, there's a reason why Zeitgeist can't withstand peer review... most of the stated facts don't hold water. When it comes to religion, it's still true that it's made up. But Zeitgeist doesn't prove it.
Conspiracy theories require faith too... they require faith before proof is presented. In order to believe them you need to believe it already. Zeitgeist is just a well presented conspiracy theory.
Politicians and elite power brokers/bankers working together in secret driving Americas policies are "not" Un-American, is what you are trying to tell me? You do realize that what your saying.....right.
"The very word "secrecy" is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings." -JFK
Someone like Bill Gates, who (as far as I know) isn't a member of a bunch of secretive councils, and tends to try to use his money to benefit people (Gates foundation), strikes me as an altruistic person who uses at least some of his wealth to try to better the world.
Someone like David Rockefeller, who IS a member of secretive councils and prattles on about "making" a better world, and doesn't seem to be as charitable, seems to be the type of person sockpuppetsfromhell is describing, IMO.
yes! the idea that people in powerful places get together and make plans is LOGICAL. People seem to look at you like a mad man if you say this. The people in charge are like minded people like people with money, businesses, people with power.
@sockpuppetsfromhell i agree and thats what America was founded on really. The man making these commits he don't understand yes people of the same social background trying to keep control of the money. Also keeping it flowing.. Money rules the world. These people come from money their families founded and built our country our corporate industrial financial and agiculture off of free labor of African Slaves. If it wasn't for The free labor of slavery there wouldn't be no united states.
Well it's a fact that governments are very secretive about new technologies, people at the front of nanotechnology just disappear all the time, we know that.
I think that somebody doesn't mind having the power they have there, as long as they have control of it themselves.
