Alot of his supreme speed can be attributed to his masterful flawless sweep picking. Sweeps take alot of practice but are really worth the effort to obtain speed. We just all never really get as fast as YJM though.......

Malmsteen is certainly on a list of elite guitar players, but saying he is the best is hard to do. There are just too many other phenominal guitar players to claim a best. Petrucci, Vai, Satriani, Hendrix, SRV, i mean you could sit here and name people all day. I will say this, I think malmsteen would have a problem playing those riffs on any guitar but his own.

@ParkusMarkus In 1984 this was awesome, but l grew out of it. Shawn Lane is faster than this asshole, Monte Montgomry plays rings around this one trick pony. Playing minor scales fast is just not impressive as it use to be, l would rather hear Eric Johnson, now theres a virtuoso of guitar.
